As a person who casually got into climbing before the pandemic, I really haven't gotten into the history of the sport but what little I knew was devastated by the all the nuggets Magnus just laid out so casually. Like all these mythical things he's just so nonchalantly part of.
I really am in awe that you manage to create TH-cam gold after all the time you’re running this channel! Still transporting the love for the sport and the joy of doing it together with great people. And still making it great quality of production and just fun to watch.
I have no idea why, but hearing that little dog bark into the ancient Nordic cave was awesome! Perfect editing all around. The VO level was perfect for continuity but the little bark with such an extended reverb was crystal clear, plus the timing of the music beat... dude - that kind of attention to detail on the videography aspect is why this climbing channel is so popular. That's the kind of polish that even when you're not paying attention to it, it adds magnitudes higher user experience and perception even for those without an ear/eye for it. The editing sets this channel apart. I wish I knew how to do all of that - not sure if I'd bottle it and sell that information for other aspiring content creators or keep it a secret and profit as much as possible from being "in the know." All that from a little doggie barkie. But seriously - I'm impressed.
I mean, the editing isn't the only reason Mr. Mitdbo is so popular. His obvious skill, likeability, and let's all be honest, physique, contribute to his TH-cam success, but I mean there are other fit athletes out there making content that don't get as much popularity as Magnus, and I think that part of it has to do with the way his videos are produced. They are very, very well done. In my opinion, at least
brilliant film Magnus! Loving the outdoor lead climbing films - always happy to see more of these 💪 Those crux moves look just insane, but I can see how committed projecting and building links makes them possible (for the super-elite, anyway!) Great stuff

Good job on the music in this video. I don't know why climbing and music often makes such a good combination when well done, but it does. I think it is related to being free and wild.
I loved the way you guys captured Stefanos grace in climbing. Dare I say even better than on his own channel, or was it just the cool comparison with Magnus climbing first and then Stefano. Either way awesome footage.
I thought that a few times, but then the constant cuts during the actual climbing was terrible. This like "Liam Neeson jumps over a fence" level of bad. You can't follow any of the movements. How does he make the clips? Even if he's cheating the clips, I want to see that!

This kind of reminds me of that one basketball player who was criticized by the fans, so he challenged anyone to beat him. He later said "I'm closer to LeBron than you are to me." Magnus is crazy strong compared to most climbers, but this video really shows that 9c is a whole other thing in itself
yes magnus is quite humble next to the big names, but he still is a world-class athlete and former world cup climber. He didn't lose all that strength since he continued training a lot. As a person who casually got into climbing before the pandemic, I really haven't gotten into the history of the sport but what little I knew was devastated by the all the nuggets Magnus just laid out so casually. Like all these mythical things he's just so nonchalantly part of.
He is an imposter
@@umaxi96 no you are troll
So many trolls in this thread! But yeah, I agree, so cool!
I wish I knew how to do all of that - not sure if I'd bottle it and sell that information for other aspiring content creators or keep it a secret and profit as much as possible from being "in the know."
All that from a little doggie barkie.
Where’s the doggie bark?

brilliant film Magnus! Loving the outdoor lead climbing films - always happy to see more of these 💪 Those crux moves look just insane, but I can see how committed projecting and building links makes them possible (for the super-elite, anyway!) Great stuff
Love seeing you lead climb, especially in such a historical place. Awesome video.
Easily one of, if not THE, best Magnus video. Awesome content, sir, AWESOME!
Stefano’s knowledge of the route is amazing. He knows the whole route down to the inch. Looking forward to seeing the send soon!
Clever Italian he is.
So excited! What a bosmang he is, and so nice and funny.
This is an awesome video! Loving the intro part when you tell the story of the cave. This is exactly what I miss in modern sport climbing videos. You have been upping your game so much recently, Magnus. Thanks for what you do!
Hanging out with Adam definitely is rubbing off on Magnus
And I’m here for it.
Alex, Stefano and Magnus in the same video in Flatanger trying Change and Silence ? This is some goddamn quality content right there
"You did good, you did..... some of the moves." Lmao
That had me laughing too. Still, i can't tell if he was serious or just polite. Seriously, it's so hard to tell with climbers because all of them are just so nice and humble people.
@@certainlynotmalo1.0.0 Trying to find the balance between wanting to be encouraging, but not wanting to lie. Lol
" you know what...just lower me "
@@nathanrice7352 I just dont understand it, never will.
The encouragement is worse for me; it makes me fail even faster!
Just leave me alone and let me climb it.
Same with the unrequested opinions about the route; When I want advice, I'll ask for it.
I would be stoked if someone said I did "some of the moves" on a climb like this 😂
That's the magnus video i've been waiting for! Trying hard stuff outside with top tier climbers! Amazing video! I hope it does so well on YT that he has to make more videos like this 😄
Definitely main channel worthy!!!😂
12:05 Magnus: "you know, they say that the better the climber, the worse he is at belaying."
Stefano: "Yeah, I saw some videos" 👀
Seriously though, this was an *awesome* video. Vibe, climbing, filmmaking... Bloody excellent. I love seeing Magnus climbing outside, trying super-hard stuff, being humble but enjoying it. And all those strong bois together in one place! Sick.
More like this one, please! 🙌🏻
lmao this. both careful to not name any names 👀
The banter in the barn is top quality, love it
Amazing, amazing video!!! Please do more of these. Seeing so many respected climbers in one place - absolute beauty. Bravo, Magnus!
Please please return to silence, Magnus. This was fantastic
"Please return to Silence" sounds like a very polite way to tell someone to shut up lol
Japanese polite energy right there
@@noone-ld7pti’m now using this thanks for the idea
🎉that sync of doggie bark and music was *chefs kiss*!!!
I just noticed Stefano wears the beanie for the 1st Crux Boulder problem and then drops it afterwards. Getting that boulder bro buff.
We have seen few vidéos about the route and the crag but you succeded in giving a brand new perspective about it
Thanks
Big congrats to Megos for sending Change, hope to see him also give Silence a go in the future. And I obviously hope that Stefano sends it within the next year - i think he's got a fair chance for sure!
Or maybe BIG!
Outstanding. Love the humble answer from Stephano at the end. "What would it mean to do this route?" "I would be happy. I would be satisfied for the achievement". Perfect!!
I love ghisolfi, he seems like a real pleasure to spend time with
absolutely loved this style of video. i'd also love if you make more video together with Alex Megos. overall great content! love your stuff
This is the best kind of video you make! More outdoor footage with top climbers working on hard projects? Yes please!
Easily one of the best videos you posted on the channel period. The footage is crazy good, the explanation an interview part is incredible, the lore is super enjoyable. Plus i'm addicted to lead climbing videos. Thank you very much and keep posting this type of content ❤
I have been watching your videos for probably 3y now, but never commented. I've to say that this one in particular took me. The moment of Alex, Stefano and you climbing was so nice to see, just three friends climbing as there is no camera behind. So nice to see!
Love this video, you just amplified Silences' mystique by adding your story.
This high quality of video on TH-cam is amazing.
omg so good to see collaborative climbing and projecting and just the climbing community vibin' - it's not all about sending.
more please.. that was awesome. especially getting to see different people work their projects.
I love these outdoor ones man. Please do more. How about looking at some of the hard classics in Spain like Perfectomundo or La Dura Dura?
This video is a treasure trove of hard climbing! I love that you not only showed your attempts on silence, but showed Alex, Jorge, and Stefano on their respecitve projects.
Love this video. Well done Magnus/production team! I love the progression towards movie quality TH-cam vidoes.
Absolutely incredible video. Both the climbing and the filming and commentary. Amazing!!
When I saw the notification, I got excited and I wasn't desappointed. Having yours and Stefano's insights was very interesting. I would love to see you trying DNA because not so many people tried it. The Verdon's gorge landscape would look amazing on camera. That would make a great video i'm sure
This 'trying hard routes' needs to be a series! Alex and Stefano, great surprise guests!
Good job on the music in this video. I don't know why climbing and music often makes such a good combination when well done, but it does. I think it is related to being free and wild.

Mag:
"And then you grab this as an intermediate? This is like a nothing-hold"
Stefano: "Ya.."
😂😂
Lol, literally came to make this comment ^ best part.
Honestly one of my favorite videos you've done. Really special.
The edits is so smooth, loved it!
I loved the way you guys captured Stefanos grace in climbing. Dare I say even better than on his own channel, or was it just the cool comparison with Magnus climbing first and then Stefano. Either way awesome footage.
The filmmaking on this video was absolutely stunning! The amount of progress in video making has been really great these last couple of years.
I thought that a few times, but then the constant cuts during the actual climbing was terrible. This like "Liam Neeson jumps over a fence" level of bad. You can't follow any of the movements. How does he make the clips? Even if he's cheating the clips, I want to see that!
Magnus after watching your videos for a few years now it’s amazing how far your video quality has improved
This video feels like a professional documentary
Your videos have inspired me for years an are what really got me into climbing
Thank you for all you’ve done so far and I look forward to whatever you do in the future!
That video is exactly what we all needed
It's cool to see other climbers encourage each other like Magna does. The little "common s" and such are da bomb
This kind of reminds me of that one basketball player who was criticized by the fans, so he challenged anyone to beat him. He later said "I'm closer to LeBron than you are to me."
Magnus is crazy strong compared to most climbers, but this video really shows that 9c is a whole other thing in itself
yes magnus is quite humble next to the big names, but he still is a world-class athlete and former world cup climber. He didn't lose all that strength since he continued training a lot. He was definitely closer to the top than the bottom though since he did some podiums in world cups but I think the dedication to top level is the most troublesome thing for him right now not the ability.

Maybe putting 2+2 together, but see the video of Magnus bouldering with Dave Macleod.
Dave said: I've kept getting stronger into my late 40's, and the rate of progress is slowing, but I'm still strong than I was in my 30's.
A light came on in Magnus' eyes. Bing.
I swear.
Post comp magnus can still progress outdoors, I thinks, and I think Magnus realises it.
@@PB-sk9jn Yup, that. And Tomoa telling him he could still do boulder comps if he wanted to. That was no empty talk and you could really see it sink in, I think. Not that pappa Magnus will start competing again, but just that he is still strong and skilled enough.
I won't repeat all the comments about how fabulously strong you are.
Just wanted to say I loved the musics!
The intro already is so good
As usual, awesome video. Really like the way you walked through the route with some helpful footage and visuals to help us normies understand everything that goes into the climb aside from the outrageous cruxes that the Ondra documentary was focused on.
we all waited for this!!!
how epic
