(Extended Cut) Gastronomic Big Wall Climbing in Patagonia

Tyler Karow, Imanol Amundarain, and Cedar Christensen pulled off a team free ascent of the South African Route on the East face of the Central Tower of Paine in Patagonia, Chile in January 2023. Despite their typical vigilance for going light, they opted to splurge on quite a few luxuries including excess amounts of wine and a mini cast iron oven that they used to bake muffins, empanadas, and pizzas daily while living in portaledges. They spent a total of ten days on the wall after an initial two days of fixing ropes from the ground.
This 4000 foot line was first climbed in 1974 by a South African team and first freed by Sean Villnueva O'Driscoll, Nico Favrese, and Ben Ditto in 2009 at a grade of 5.12c. This was the second free ascent of the route.

If you care about him as a creator you shouldn't give this kind of advice, the original "bad" video is by far the most viewed video ever published on his channel.
I love this content too, but he should just make both styles of video. The original gets the views, and videos like this makes us climbers happy.

My comment had nothing to do with it being "better", it had to do with it being good for TK as a creator. More money and views means he can make more and better content for us to enjoy, so we shouldn't be telling him to make videos that get 40k views instead of ones that get 2.1 million.

What a great video. I am paralyzed and unfortunately never got into mountain climbing before my spinal cord injury but I am now hooked on watching climbing videos and it really is almost therapeutic getting to watch brave and adventurous people such as you guys and live vicariously through your expeditions. Thanks for sharing this, I watch a lot of climbing videos and documentaries and this one was one of my favorites so far.

Please please upload the even more extended edition, trust me people wanna see more climbing, more of the struggles like setting up camp, and seeing y'all just chilling every night, even if this was 3 or 4 hours I'd watch this, a lot of people live through your experiences vicariously, love the content my friend, keep it up!!!!

Setting up a tent on a wall hundreds and hundreds of feet in the air is just absolutely hilarious to me.
Yeah for some reason the idea of it is extra cosy to me. The juxtaposition of being warm and dry in such an exposed and dangerous environment is oddly satisfying.
