@@Hoezaay Yeah true, I had a budget of 50k-60k I had a choice to choose whether a Steam Deck or PS5, my first choice was PS5 but then I checked the prices of games that I already own on Steam 😅😅
Can't it work without internet and just home wifi? I mean if it can stream locally when both device is connected with with same WiFi then there won't be any latency. Getting what I'm saying?
@@Hoezaay I checked and I could be wrong but it's a roundtrip through internet and not direct connection to local host. So it's the same as remote play but optimised I think? Idk
ok this was a really interesting test ! If your home internet is OFF but router is ON - the Portal connects to wifi - BUT tells you your internet is off and won't go further. {end of test} So I tried this : connected to home wifi on the portal ( with internet on ) removed the internet cable from the router portal remains connected to wifi even with no internet ( no error msgs ) Remote play works perfectly ! You can wake up / disconnect from the ps5/ enter rest more on PS5 no issues ( of course game network features are off ) *if you disconnect the portal wifi - and try to connect back ( with no internet ) - it won't connect to wifi and will give you an error ( back to the start of this post )
@@Hoezaay this was indeed a big brain move and could be a solution for local gameplay with low latency if internet speed is low. Also thank you for testing it.
Lyril's having driving issues could be because of the high ping. I used to face similar issues while playing on cloud from India with servers in frace. Is there a native ping test in the device? Does the device support any cloud gaming or is it only for streaming from our own PS5? Also, couldn't this whole thing be a mobile app (similar to Steam remote play)? Why buy a seperate device?
1. No. 2. Only PS5. 3. kind of subjective but You can use your phone/tablet & use remote play but ergonomics are diff + controls are on screen. Having dualsense controllers attached to this is the difference + wanting to use the phone for other stuff/not using it's battery could be a reason.
Bruhh...ur filthy rich man! I will not accept any other explanation for why someone will buy a ps portal😂😂 Chai nahi wo kheer hai, hojhay bhai ameer hai!!
from Sony's faw page on this : it uses only PlayStation Link™ wireless technology - such as the PULSE Explore™ wireless earbuds and PULSE Elite™ wireless headset. ( I am yet to get my hands on those) You also have the option to connect audio devices via a 3.5mm jack audio cable or use the remote player’s built-in speakers. SO bluetooth is a NO.
Bro honestly speaking your insta content is kinda cringe but this was surprisingly astute and insightful and must say, very articulate. Pleasantly surprised bruh. Glad this was recommended. Keep it up 👍🏻
@@SweetSourPickle sooo...i think this gives a good idea of what the latency is like under ideal conditions and it won't change since it's purely a streaming device - it's not doing anything else. ( unless it's a game that stresses out the ps5 / makes the ps5 stutter - which is rare ) - will give it a shot though
