Thank you all for the views and thank you all for sharing the same love of wolves that I have. Now, with that being said, let me clarify a few things I have been getting multiple comments over: 1. YES I KNOW THESE ARE PREDATORS AND THAT THEY HAVE A BITE POWER OF 1200LBS PER SQUARE INCH. I see the deer carcasses all over their enclosures. I know what I’m petting and we are all very careful around these amazing animals. 2. This video was taken at Wolf Creek Habitat in Brookville, IN. It is a wolf sanctuary that has been around for 20 years now and the owner (who I know) and the team of volunteers do an amazing job in taking care of these beautiful animals. No, they are not pets, they are not drugged, nothing sinister is going on. They are happy and healthy. Trust me, I have been here countless times. 3. NO THEY DO NOT FILE ANY OF THE WOLVES’ TEETH DOWN!!!!!!!! For heaven’s sake the wolf in the video is older and probably gnawed her teeth to stumps on surfaces when she was younger. I’ve seen this happen in dogs before. All the other wolves here have very sharp and very strong teeth. 4. The wolf is a female. Her name is Aquene (pronounced Akena). I actually sponsor her nowadays to help them out during the covid world. That is all. Please read this before commenting. PLEASE!!!
I do have a question. How is it that I see videos of wolves acting like house dogs, but they are still "wild". I dont know anything about wolves, but think its weird that people say "It will still kill you, because it's a wild animal." All while I watch videos of people just petting wolves?
@@Ironicwaffle9503 Yes, they are wild at heart. They are able to kill but you can say the same about a German Shepherd. But the purpose of this sanctuary (and this video lols) is to educate everyone on the more gentle and caring and sweet side of the wolf we rarely see. Also, these wolves here are socialized since birth to be around humans. A wild wolf will 11 times out of 10 run for the hills if they see or smell you before your jugular is crushed.

Wildlife rehabilitation, conservation centers, and animal sanctuaries are far safer for any animal than the wild, especially baby animals, disabled animals, or animals that have been made reliant on humans for one reason or another.

I got a GSD and trained him to obey , attack on command and protect the family .. then i had a daughter .. now he wears a frock and attends tea parties with my daughter and her friends .. sometimes he stares at me with a lot of questions in his eyes 😐
But....Wolves are the ancestors, at least that's what I've heard. That of course wolves were the original canine creatures and that most dogs basically evolved from wolves and of course, came about because of different types of breeding processes.

Wolves gave them extra protection and companionship, and the humans gave them leftovers from hunts, a warm place to sleep etc. I'm no expert but that's my opinion or theroy of it.

As of February 2021, there are currently 10 known to remain in the wild in North Carolina. You brag about owning an endangered species. Not only that if you have just one your keeping just one if inhumane because it's a pack animal. It belongs out in the wild with a pack. Not as a pet in your house. What your doing is illegal.
I've petted a wolf before.. he got saved when he was just a pup cause his mother was killed by poachers.. he's in a specialised enclosure now with brilliant people looking after him.. wolves are such a majestic animal and now every time I see him he gets all exited cause he knows that he's gonna get fussed, treats and cuddles from me. If only you could have pure wolves as a pet.. I would jump at that chance in a heartbeat

Maybe they would want to share if you are friendly with them, and surprise surprise they give you some food and tries to pet you, you are a little shy at first but then you come closer and let them pet you and you become their best friend, you help them hunt and gives them emotional support and they give you food and love And that's a simplified version of what happened though I should note that sometimes humans would kidnap wolf pups and train them as they saw fit or they may have had some mental problems (mentally illnesses where a thing in the animal kingdom) that made them more susceptible to get tamed

@Commander Fox I think the animals you’re mentioning are wary of packs of wolves not an individual one. I’m not saying you’d get away from a one on one with one unscathed but you should be able to beat a single wolf.

@Commander Fox I think the animals you’re mentioning are wary of packs of wolves not an individual one. I’m not saying you’d get away from a one on one with one unscathed but you should be able to beat a single wolf.
@Commander Fox ok lemme rephrase this😂. An adult man would have a reasonable chance to beat a wolf. It’s not a hopeless situation like man vs grizzly bear where the man is hopelessly outweighed and out muscled.

I remember going to pet timber wolves in the sanctuary out here in Red Deer Alberta Canada haha. Always gotta be careful around any animal but especially around these guys.
My husband and I went here for our Honeymoon back in 2012. It was a magnificent experience and I can’t wait to go back!

He reminds me of my husky/lab. Just a big baby looks similar too. Animals know people and it makes a huge difference sometimes
