I hope anyone who reads this gives it a try and doesn’t let misinformation stray you away from bonding with this beautiful animals for life. It is true that wolves mate for life and that a bond with them is forever.
You have exactly the wrong impression because what u watched in that park is NOT a wild animal behaving well...as it will in their free natural environment; your opinion is the same as that of any other youtube videos showing "lions hand-feeded by humans", "tigers playing with men", etc, etc; those are deeply domesticated beasts (as far as "domestication" of a wild beast can go, but yes, indeed if you isolate the animal from its natural environment and basically raise him as a dog or cat it gets pretty accustomed to human presence/games) and in no way behaving like one you encounter in the middle of a forest or mountain that's not part of a closed park; so wolves ARE wild savage beasts because it's in their nature and needed for a survival; once man domesticated them long ago they became dogs; but original wolf will always be a killer machine
Juan Fonseca Those wolves are most certainly not domesticated. They may live in a park, but besides that, they’re just as wild as any other wolf. A wolf that hunts for their own food and spends all their time with other wolves isn’t domesticated because there’s no one giving them food and saying how to behave. The only human contact these wolves have is with park staff and the occasional visitor. You could argue they are more used to human contact than other wolves, but that alone doesn’t label them ‘pets’ or ‘tamed’. If the woman in this video did everything she said not to do when meeting wolves, she would’ve gotten herself hurt or even killed.
@@masacross8551 If you think a wolf in the wild would allow you within 50km's of it than you're utterly naive. The wolves in this video are in fact domesticated; still a wolf none the less.
@@canadianehbignorth7325 So basically what you're saying is that if I was within 50 kilometers of a wolf I'd be dead? That's one of the most ludicrous statements I've ever heard. The furthest a wolf can smell is 1.75 to 2 miles, which is about 1.6 to 3.2 kilometers. There may be wolves that can smell further than that, but even if they could smell me, they'd only attack me if they were either threatened or hungry. Otherwise, I'd be fine.

@Amanda Balder no. At least here in Norway about less than one percent of the farm animal that went "missing" (dead) was due to wolfes. And by this I mean including death by diseases and etc. If we only count on death by predators then it's about 9%

They are more afraid of you then you are of them. That's very true for wolves. Wolves attacking humans is incredibly rare. If you run into a wolf in the wild it will run away from you more then likely.
The reason wolves are timid towards humans is because they are intelligent animals that put their own safety first. They know that getting hurt interacting with a strange creature means very bad things in the wild, that’s why they tend to run away from humans. However when wolves become fearless of human due to increased exposure on a hungry stomach that timid ness will be gone lol
@@thepizzaelf agreed. @Kell Harris I believe they will avoid me more. But other than an interest in their own safety I doubt they are afraid of me one bit. Either way this animal handler looks like they can handle the situation and it made for an awesome vid.
@@SkaegSkater you need to remember is that humans stand up right. We look bigger then we are. A bear in order to scare a wolf pack will stand up and loom over the wolves. Of course when a human goes to their knees we are much less intimidating. This is true with dogs and cats as well. When interacting with scared dogs and cats like in an animal shelter or a new pet. You can sit down and come to their level to be less intimidating. If you are out in the woods and you encounter a large wild animal it's often recommended to make yourself 'look as big as possible and 9 times out of 10 they will avoid you and go for easier prey. Humans aren't normally on their diet to begin with.( though sometimes when large animals like lions and tigers loose their fear of are height. Well all bets are off. That hasn't happened much with wolves though)
@@thepizzaelf timidness isn't completely gone. They will sneak and attack and if spotted they will still run away. They aren't very powerful creatures and use teamwork and intelligence for most kills

Juan Fonseca
Those wolves are most certainly not domesticated.
@@canadianehbignorth7325
So basically what you're saying is that if I was within 50 kilometers of a wolf I'd be dead? That's one of the most ludicrous statements I've ever heard. The furthest a wolf can smell is 1.75 to 2 miles, which is about 1.6 to 3.2 kilometers. There may be wolves that can smell further than that, but even if they could smell me, they'd only attack me if they were either threatened or hungry. Otherwise, I'd be fine.
OMgosh you are SO lucky! I have loved wolves all my life. Never gotten to see any outside of a zoo. This espessially touched my heart because I am 4th generation Norwegian. I hope to travel there someday.

@Amanda Balder no. At least here in Norway about less than one percent of the farm animal that went "missing" (dead) was due to wolfes. And by this I mean including death by diseases and etc. If we only count on death by predators then it's about 9%
Me too.
@Amanda Balder I hate people like you. Wolves matter too.
@Amanda Balder ok I will admit my research was lil outdated, but I checked and out of all the animals that's identified as the killer the wolf is the smallest percentage there, exept for the eagle with a shocking 7%.

As a Norwegian I can confirm that there is massive public opposition to the culling of wolves in Norway.
Is that from the public or only the hunters and cattle owners?
Because in Sweden the hunters and cattle owners dont want the wolf but the city people loves them.
@@korkunge Yeah mostly cattle owners and hunters. Altough i am a hunter and know many hunters and neither them or me has shown any wish for hunting wolves

Have you allowed a wolf to lick the inside of your mouth?
In germany as well. Wolves are returning to germany after centuries and killing livestock, but nature is nature 🤷♀️
@@-.Germanicus.- Only problem is bureaucracy, here in the Netherlands every sheep that goes missing has to be reported, it's also a really expensive for a sheepherder to have a sheep killed, they don't get any insurance money for it. If we can solve that problem, we might be golden again :). These wolves are amazing, I will never tell the story of red riding hood again to my childred, the wolves get too much bad rep.
Never heard someone describe a wolf as timid gentle and peaceful before.
These wolves are amazing.. love them I don't want them licking my mouth however honestly... I want them to be safe and happy in the wild however.
