      Maybe they are from people like me that don't believe a good AAA game has been released in the past 10 years (with the exception of Fallout 4 possibly), no longer have a reason to buy new graphics cards anyway and therefore don't consider the content as necessary from their perspective.
      No, me personally, I never dislike the hard work of any content creator, but with the exception of a few indie games, the PC games industry has completely sucked for more than a decade now anyway. That just means I play older games now, but I get why many other people are unhappy with the whole games industry.
      4K is also just a gimmick.

    • @dontmatter4423
      @dontmatter4423 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@terrydaktyllus1320 Lots of good AAA games have been released last decade, although I am sick and tired of this "release now, fix later" trend. But there are new games that make my 1070 suffer, like rdr2, gotta turn everything down to medium to get consistent 60 fps @1080p.
      You're right about 1 thing though, older games are somehow more enjoyable than most of the modern games. I recently finished FO3 and was really impressed with it. Still have new vegas and FO4 to go through, and still wondering how most modern game devs with the best available resources can't do better.

    • @mapesdhs597
      @mapesdhs597 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rundattmedia2106 It's still a good card. A lot of FUD was and still is written and said of it, but in reality there isn't any game I've seen where the split VRAM design has any relevant performance implications. It's why initial reviews never noticed anything, the design actually works rather well. NVIDIA's PR was certainly terrible (whether deliberately misleading or not, we'll probably never know), but that doesn't detract from the 970's decent overall performance.
      Checking reviews of much newer cards, many of them have proportionally far worse 1% and 0.1% Lows for numerous games than a 970 included in the same charts, yet the newer cards are never criticised. GN has a number of reviews showing this. Thus, if you're stuck for a GPU and need something to get by, a 970 is still a solid choice. Friend of mine had a 980 Ti running at 1440p, it sadly died last year, so I loaned him a 970; he's not had any issues, just the lower general performance that one would expect. FYI I'm in the process of replacing it with a reference type 1080 wihch cost 350, from a company which still has a few available (eight remaining I think); if anyone's interested post a reply and if RGHD's ok about it I'll post a link to the relevant page (it's a major server company that usually deals with Quadros and Teslas, but they ended up getting thirteen 1080s recently).
      What was never made clear enough back when the 970 row kicked off was that, for those games where a particular combination of resolution and detail settings might use significantly more than 3.5GB RAM, the general performance would usually be too low for the 970 to handle the game that well anyway, ie. one would already more likely want something inherantly faster if VRAM usage was nearing 4GB. HUB uses words like "unplayable" to describe such average frame rates (though to me they're fine, being the old git I am who's used to SLI configs for Crysis, Stalker and Oblivion), in which case issues concerning any apparent stuttering are somewhat moot. What bugs me is when I see 970 results in fps chart that have a very narrow spread between 0.1% and avg, while newer cards in the same charts have a much wider spread but nobody talks about them being terrible. It doesn't make any sense.
      The red & black MSI 970 (Gaming X probably) is a particularly good model, runs very quiet. The various EVGA ACXs are ok but do have a bit more discernable fan noise.

    The GTX 760… I got this card (the exact one from ASUS) as used in the vid. It was a free replacement for my MSI TwinFROZR 660 Ti which had broken down back in 2013.
    I am still using this graphics card in a “NAS PC” build I did in August 2021, just because GPU prices are so damn high and I’m not paying €150 to €250 for a used GTX 1050 Ti. I am often surprised of what this card is still capable to do so many years later. Although describing this card as 4K gaming capable is somewhat very overestimating. The card is obviously built for decent 1080p gaming.
    The only issue with the ASUS GTX 760 was probably that it ran a little hot at times.
    My comment might not have much to do with your vid but the card brought up some great memories. :-)

      Only, it's not. It's specifically optimized for either low-end hardware, brand spanking new top-level hardware or consoles.
      I'm running the game on an i5-8400 (recommend spec), RTX 2070, 32GB DC RAM and installed on a Samsung 970 Evo 1TB. I'm using the High preset, in 1440P, capped at 60FPS and *struggle* to have a seamless experience. Constantly stuttering or constantly crashing if I open the wrong app like Spotify or Logitech G Hub.
      I've repaired my game files, reinstalled the game, ran it as administrator, even went as far as to run the game on Low with nearly all my unnecessary background apps closed. But, only to still suffer the exact same stutters.
      One of my friends that is running a i5-10600k, 3060Ti, 32GB DC RAM also with the game installed on an M.2, same graphics settings as I'm using, is noticing the same issues.
      But, on the other hand, the only other person we play with (that's on a PC) is on an i7-7700k, GTX 980, 16GB of *SC* RAM and has FH5 installed on an old Western Digital HDD. He's playing in 1080P, High preset with essentially unlimited FPS. No stutters or crashes.
      The game runs great on some hardware no one was expecting, I'll give the developers that. But there are so many inconsistencies within mid-level to mid-high-level hardware that saying the game is optimized well, as a whole, is a stretch.
      Thats not even mentioning the fact that if you bought the game on the Xbox app/Microsoft Store, your textures are bugged to shit and have even worse performance issues than those on Steam.
      And, yes, my group went for the Xbox App route. Majority pre-ordered the game too..
