Was wondering if you have ReBar enabled. I have a 9th gen intel i5 and have no support on a b365 motherboard for ReBar, would you kindly test if has any negative impact if it is not enabled? (Edit: I mean for Blender and not for any other purposes)
@@shivavarunadicherla most z370 boards did get updated to support rebar. I am using it with my 8600k and a z370-a prime from asus. I dont know about the b365 boards but maybe check your motherboards support site for bios/uefi updates.
I think i saw a guide on github for enabling rebar on any board with 4g decoding, you might give it a try, if you are technical. I did that for 2011v3, x99, if i remember correctly.
As far as I know, having rebar on when there is no supported card doesn't have a neg impact on anything. Thus, my question is, why isn't it just always on by default?
because most mobos didnt have rebar setting and it was added in updates, so its just extra feature that was brand new and no one know if it will work well, so its off by default if u want u can enable it and if its bad u know how to fix it, imagine rebar would make issue on your new mobo, how long time u would spent on changing cpu and ram settings maybe even swapping to new ram till u would found on some forum that rebar can couse that. Also imagine if u would be just newebie that would just assume its bad optimalization and u would stutter forever (like people that bought AM4 lmao)
From what I remember, the guys over at Hardware Unboxed had to retest some mobos because their 4090 benchmarks were a bit strange cpu to cpu. Horizon Zero Dawn is one of the games that does not benefit from ReBAR apparently. Mobos from Gigabyte (May be wrong on that one) i think were using ReBAR by default which reduced performance and 1% lows.
One thing that needs mentioning that wasn't in this video is that even if your mobo & cpu supports ReBar, most will not allow you to turn it on if you are using legacy MBR booting. That being said, ReBar / SAM does work on first gen Ryzen. I have it working on my 1700x + Taichi x370 confirmed with GPUz and AMD's own driver. No hacks, just have latest mobo FW installed.
Wow! I don't question your observation here but I truly can't understand why using MBR instead of GPT on your HDD/SSD would affect resizable BAR. Some explanation would be highly welcome.
@@francoisleveille409I don't think it is because of the MBR on the HDD/SSD but because of the CSM being active in the bios, which is a requirement to boot MBR disks on modern systems.
@francoisleveille409 It's neither MBR or CSM directly, ReBAR is only supported on UEFI, due to the difference in how the hardware is accessed / utilized. Enabling CSM / MBR changes access to that of legacy BIOS, which isn't compatible with how ReBAR interfaces the CPU and GPU.
You can actually format an active MBR partition to GPT on windows through a command line program that's built into the OS. The conversion has a chance for file corruption but mine has had zero issues since I did it a few months ago.
You can mod the bios back to around 4th gen to get rebar support Some mobo manufacturers have added it to older mobo also, I have rebar enabled with my 8700k
I went with the i5 13400f and arc a 750. Been brilliant for 1080p gaming. AAA, E sports, MMOS etc. All playable. Can't wait for Battlemage GPUS. But yes, good video and well needed info. Not the sort of GPUS you want to put into a Dell rebuild or an old 2nd hand config.
can it play ark acendent ? (don't forget to turn volumetric clouds off for an extra 10 to 20 frames its useless and won't affect the gameplay in anyway )
@@malik-mahdi Couldn't tell you, haven't tried it. I'm sure there's videos online. At this point though, i'd wait for battlemage. Or I'd go for the a 770 because of the extra video memory. Which seems to be the one thing that holds the arc a 750 back from those more demanding titles. Then maybe sell up again just as battlemage releases. Probably lose barely any money on it. I'm expecting to lose about 2-3 takeaways worth of money from over a year of using arc a 750 and reselling it for next release.
I really want to see it compared to the 1050 and 1050ti, given that the 1630 supposedly is on par/slightly better 1050. With and without reBAR. Because if it can beat a 1050 without reBAR the card actually have potential on non-reBAR systems.
you can get used 20 & 30 series cards for much cheaper though, that will give you much more performance and noticeably more stable drivers (compared to Intel)
As an Nvidia higher end GPU user ….. I’ve found that using Rebar only changes (usually reduced) by only a few %. Rebar is a feature which I’ve seen benefits AMD Radeon gpus small to modest amount and more so with Intel gpus.
It’s why I’m not a fan of the ARC cards. They’re mostly budget GPUs that would seem ideal for older/used systems and older games, but they need new systems and are more suited to newer titles. Unless you need cheap media transcoding, I think most people are better off with a previous gen NVIDIA or AMD card.
Glad you mentioned other cards, 30 and 40 series NVIDIA cards also benefit from ReBar being enabled, but to a lesser extent. I see a slight increase in fps on my 30 series card.
Also another thing being forgoten - there is A LOT more supported processors and boards then listed on AMD/Intel site - mobo manufacturers can update their bios to include re-bar support even on old hardware from like 2016-18.
@alexturnbackthearmy1907 Not just by the manufacturer, you can add ReBAR to nearly any UEFI system yourself, going back to even Sandy Bridge. Search ReBarUEFI for the project.
On Cyberpunk 2077 I had to disable RE-Bar due to an issue that the game has. I play at 2k resolution with textures at high and the game has this issue when you open the map that consumes around 500 mb of VRAM so sometimes it goes about the memory that the card has available and it gives me some FPS drops which are very noticeable. Ryzen 5 3600 RTX 3060 Ti
This is an issue that really can't be overstated. From time to time I find myself working on older systems and need to put a GPU in, and getting the best bang for buck is natural, and without the rebar issue, the A310 and A380 look good, as I have seen the A380 new as low as $100 USD, and open box as low as $60, which is a lot of card for them money. However, it only makes sense for 9th Gen and up, Intel and Ryzen, so those are more powerful systems and more expensive. Here in a few years, once Ryzen 2000 series and 9th and 10th gen Optiplexs start to show up dirt cheap, these Intel cards are going to be a great fit.

- Any Post-Haswell/Bulldozer (Skylake/Zen and up) should have native ReBar support - With Nvidia at least, certain games do not have ReBar support within the GPU drivers, which can be fixed by using the Nvidia Profile Inspector - Some few Haswell boards may have ReBar support in newer BIOS versions - It is possible to ask the board maker's support for an unreleased BIOS with ReBar support - Pretty much any UEFI BIOS can be modded to have ReBar support, including laptops, though it may not be easy to find a guide for a specific chipset or to mod a proprietary BIOS - Graphics cards that do not support UEFI will not benefit from ReBar
As a rx560 owner(i have rx 6600 and 6800xt on my other system) i dont consider that gtx 1630 is entry level in 2024. It barely faster than my rx560 and so expensive to the point i can buy 3 rx 560(used, sure) with that money. If not for directx 12, it stand no chance against rx 500 series.

Did you know that Resizable BAR and 4G Decoding is also available for some intel 300 series boards? Mine Asus H370-F does have it, although it tends to be buggy.

I have I7-9700K + gigabyte H310M S2H and even though it's 9gen there is Resizable bar support... but I was unable to turn it on on Windows for some reason. As I was putting together this PC for gaming, I bought Sparkle A580, and for initial tests I tried using it on Windows thinking I will have less issues there. I was unable to boot to windows, so I returned it. Then I bought used RX 6600, and after I was unable to get to work Resizable bar on windows I switched to linux and had no issues there.
I was planning on getting an Intel arc card for a new computer I was building And the title worried me for a bit. Good thing my system has resizable bar 😎
Again, another video where showing AV1 encoding performance with ReBAR on and off would be a must. Not being a gamer, my only interest regarding this card is having it on an old Linux workstation solely for AV1 encoding purposes. The info I want is the performance impact of not having ReBAR on, and also support for the different encoding modes when under Linux (since I suspect it doesn't have full support, and don't know what the roadmap is).
a little tip for people who are running older intel chipsets (x99 etc) althought not officially supported you can still enable rebar by modding the bios with a patch/driver
got this exact card and the A380 version working by happenstance on an MSI Z390 ITX board, as well as an old HP workstation (4th gen Intel). Encoding performance was pretty good, as well as Linux support.
All Arc cards have the same encoder / decoder silicon. As a fun side note, If you have a A770 LE, you can crossflash it to flex 170 assuming you can get your hands on proper firmware.
That's funny. I have an R5 3600, B450 board, and A770. That config isn't listed as supported, but I have ReBAR turned on and working just fine. I can't wait to check out the "B770" if Intel ever gets it through the door lol
Originally, SAM or Smart Access Memory was a Ryzen 5000 cpu and AMD 500-series chipset feature, but almost all motherboard vendors have added support for reBar in their bioses for almost all AM4 motherboards. However, the CPU limitation of at least Ryzen 3000- series (not the g) still stands, that's a hardware limitation.
Amazon shows an XFX Radeon RX 580 GTS XXX Edition 1386MHz OC+ 8GB GDDR5 for $130 bucks brand new right now (how are there still new ones for sale?). Sure- power use is WAY more and driver support is iffy on some new games (Alan wake?)... but that's also way more GPU that works just fine in an older system. I might try under-volting that RX 580 card though... unless XFX really tuned it well for the OC versus just blasting more voltage.
Just for the sake of argument, Intel's 300 Series chipset motherboards with the latest bios has rebar support. So, 8th and 9 Gen Intel Core processors will be able to utilize that feature.
Similar thing happens with the 3060 12GB. Without resizable bar and on a weaker older quad core cpu because of nvidia driver overhead it loses out so much of its performance. Pair it with R5 5600 and rebar enabled mobo bios, maybe a slight OC to 2GHz and its like a 25% better card.
I'm surprised because I think resizable bar effects moving things into vram, and if your card has 12 gb, then games should be moving everything into vram once then leaving it alone. Maybe the difference was just a cpu bottleneck that had nothing to do with rebar.

Its so clear how poorly optimised Starfield is compared when compared to Cyberpunk. Cyberpunk graphically blows Starfield away yet the performancs is utterly atrocious in comparison.

Also goes without saying that another reason why you might want to avoid an ARC card right now, is that BattleMage will hopefully dropping around the the end of the year. So I'm guessing we'll get A770 performance for A750 prices, and also lower wattage usage from the new energy efficient architecture.
Hmm, obviously wouldn't recommend running Arc cards without rebar, but I feel like the performance drop off was much bigger than this at release. Could it be because the higher end cards had more performance to lose or because the driver updates have made it so Arc doesn't suffer as badly without rebar?
Interesting video, This card definitely isn't for me. I have a 4070 anyway but i hate having to fiddle with weird settings like that... who am i kidding i love it! I'd love to see some more mini PC vids. Rather than testing your standard games though try testing things people would likely play on them (nobody has, I've looked). How do strategy games perform on them? Civ6, CK3, Stellaris, C&C, AOE. And Indie games? Dave the diver, and maybe some other lighter load games. Most Importantly how low can you go? N100 or even down to celerons for some indie games. Some What can they play videos. Sorry i've had a few but you should definitely do this!
resizable bar is way smaller deal than you make it out to be i'd say bigger issue with intel cards is that driver software is still garbage and there is A LOT of compatibility issues with older games
😒 Here's the takeaway, if your building a gaming pc with some old hardware wether its a custom pc or more than likely some old oem prebuilt with an oem power supply and your looking for a viable bus powered video card then your much better off sticking with tradional bus powered cards such as a GTX 750 750ti 1030ddr5 950 1050 1050ti 1650 3050, or the classic DDR5 video cards from Radeon HD R7 R9 RX, we are talking about something as far back as Pentium 4 Core2Duo Core2Quad Xeons or the classic AMD Athlons and FX rigs on AM2 AM3. Its obvious that the Intel Arc division does not care about supporting older hardware otherwise they would have added some cards into the lineup specifically for retro builds. If your running Radeon dont forget that the drivers with a modern Adrenalin control panel are available over at amernimezone they go as far back as HD 7000.

Average, 1%low, 0.1% low - those are all self-explanatory. But what does Minimum framerate mean? It is CLEARLY higher than even the 1% low so it can not be the actual minimum framerate.
While frame times can be recorded individually, frame rates are recorded on a second by second basis. You could have multiple frame time spikes(both high which is bad, and low which is better) in the span of a single second. Your 1% or 0.1% low frame times may be lower, but the actual lowest recorded frame rate may well be higher.
🙂 Brother, the problem is RandomGaming does not have the FPS Graph enabled, its a squiggly line that runs below the number, on an ARC card you would see the line being drawn with alot of spikes and stutters, the numbers don't tell the whole story
Resize bar for Horizon Forbidden West made the difference from 20-200 seconds to compile the shaders (every loading screen): to almost instant! -such a HUGE difference!! I couldnt say ive noticed real difference in game though. (Or any other game) - [12900ks - 6700XT]

I'm still thinking what is the big difference between AMD/NVIDIA and Intel GPUs. Intel cannot make a GPU which does not rely heavily on rebar? How about Intel i740?
The real usage I see for these isn't for gaming, but for pretty much every non-gaming use for a graphics card. It'd be amazing to slap one of these in a Jellyfin server for transcoding, certainly better than my $30 Jellyfin server built out of a shitty old Dell thin client. And not only that, it has way better Linux support than Nvidia GPUs and is cheaper than AMD offerings, meaning it would be even better to put one into a Linux server.
Id imagine pcie 3.0 systems would even further cripple the performance, so if you want an Arc card I wouldn’t even recommend anything that doesn’t at least have gen 4.0 support, especially for the lower end cards.

I had a friend gift me n A770.. Put it in my kids PC, its a killer card at 1080p. but... Does have some issues with some of his "smaller" games. lol. Its an odd one, I want Intel to succeed, and give us a decent GFX card market again, but it will take time,.
Ironic that the people most likely to benefit from a cheap graphics card upgrade are the ones most likely using hardware too old for rebar to be an option.

Buyed en Intel Arc 380 ELF from Sparkle almost 2 Month ago and iam very pleased with the Performance. Sure .. its not a Beast but a very cheap alternative for my needs
I feel this is a big miss for Intel and a failure to understand the market. Most of their current lineup is decidedly low-end (performance and price at any rate) and the rebar issue makes this a no go for older hardware lacking rebar support that you wouldn't put higher-end hardware in. That makes a very narrow use case for Arc: low-end modern hardware where gaming is not the main priority. No wonder Arc has not set the world on fire.

ARC is not a problem, but pre-Battlemage is a not the wisest choice, especially when used stock is all over eBay and most of it will serve just as well as new - a 3070 is a better deal and will get you DLSS and RT - there is a reason that while the 3060 is now, as of posting, the number 1 GPU on Steam Survey, the 3070 is also right in that top 5 of cards 9both climbing, or I guess for 3060, likely to just sit there for a few months).

The alchemist cards definitely aren't for everyone, but when Intel (eventually, maybe, hopefully?) announces Battlemage, I suspect a huge portion of budget buyers will end up going for Intel. The leaks are very promising!
1st gen should always be avoided, but if everyone avoids 1st gen, there will be no 2nd gen. I would like intel to be a viable choice next time I buy a graphics gard. Hopefully that one doesn't have a ridiculous name like Battlemage though, it doesn't make sense to take a company seriously, when they have no respect for their customers.
Got first A380 asrock ARC card by luck, 3060 run-out... Ok, it is poor performance for game but for SVP 4 Pro I can see all movie frame double to 4k 144Hz refresh rates on Dell G3223Q.... Yes, it's what Display Port 2.0 can do ...not throw it away. It is on second pc in living room.

@@Chobbito Which depends on the manufacturers, if they don't want to release/work on such an update, one is out of luck. The tech has been shown to work even back to ivy bridge, all depends on how welling manufacturers are.
I still think it is stupid to release low priced GPUs which could greatly benefit older PCs getting a modern GPU and then requiring REBAR which those same PCs don't have.
Because they expected no one to use it with, idk, rare first gen ryzen mobo without re-bar support? Modern budget system are cheap and great, you can put together a system with 10100F, mobo and 16GB ram for a price of a A380. If you have extremely old system - why even bother with new cards then? Get yourself Rx580 and know no sadness, for this card is still good and cheap.

I didn't need to enable rebar on my PC, it did it on its own. I expect that is true for all systems that have it.

most bios default settings it is set to OFF, the newer the board and the newer the bios version the more likely it is ON by default

Because if it can beat a 1050 without reBAR the card actually have potential on non-reBAR systems.
On older computers intel arc runs somewhere between a 750ti and 1050ti but with more stuttering, it also depends on the video game
you can get used 20 & 30 series cards for much cheaper though, that will give you much more performance and noticeably more stable drivers (compared to Intel)

As an Nvidia higher end GPU user ….. I’ve found that using Rebar only changes (usually reduced) by only a few %. Rebar is a feature which I’ve seen benefits AMD Radeon gpus small to modest amount and more so with Intel gpus.
It’s why I’m not a fan of the ARC cards. They’re mostly budget GPUs that would seem ideal for older/used systems and older games, but they need new systems and are more suited to newer titles. Unless you need cheap media transcoding, I think most people are better off with a previous gen NVIDIA or AMD card.
Glad you mentioned other cards, 30 and 40 series NVIDIA cards also benefit from ReBar being enabled, but to a lesser extent. I see a slight increase in fps on my 30 series card.
Also another thing being forgoten - there is A LOT more supported processors and boards then listed on AMD/Intel site - mobo manufacturers can update their bios to include re-bar support even on old hardware from like 2016-18.
@alexturnbackthearmy1907 Not just by the manufacturer, you can add ReBAR to nearly any UEFI system yourself, going back to even Sandy Bridge. Search ReBarUEFI for the project.
On Cyberpunk 2077 I had to disable RE-Bar due to an issue that the game has. I play at 2k resolution with textures at high and the game has this issue when you open the map that consumes around 500 mb of VRAM so sometimes it goes about the memory that the card has available and it gives me some FPS drops which are very noticeable.

This is an issue that really can't be overstated. From time to time I find myself working on older systems and need to put a GPU in, and getting the best bang for buck is natural, and without the rebar issue, the A310 and A380 look good, as I have seen the A380 new as low as $100 USD, and open box as low as $60, which is a lot of card for them money. However, it only makes sense for 9th Gen and up, Intel and Ryzen, so those are more powerful systems and more expensive.
Here in a few years, once Ryzen 2000 series and 9th and 10th gen Optiplexs start to show up dirt cheap, these Intel cards are going to be a great fit.
Ryzen 2000 supports RE-BAR? In the video I noticed Ryzen 5000. My MB have this feature with Ryzen 2000 but I can`t really test it with 1060.

Another reason is if you like playing a wide variety of games, especially older titles. Performance can be all over the place on ARC cards.
- Any Post-Haswell/Bulldozer (Skylake/Zen and up) should have native ReBar support
- With Nvidia at least, certain games do not have ReBar support within the GPU drivers, which can be fixed by using the Nvidia Profile Inspector
- Some few Haswell boards may have ReBar support in newer BIOS versions
- It is possible to ask the board maker's support for an unreleased BIOS with ReBar support
- Pretty much any UEFI BIOS can be modded to have ReBar support, including laptops, though it may not be easy to find a guide for a specific chipset or to mod a proprietary BIOS
- Graphics cards that do not support UEFI will not benefit from ReBar
As a rx560 owner(i have rx 6600 and 6800xt on my other system) i dont consider that gtx 1630 is entry level in 2024. It barely faster than my rx560 and so expensive to the point i can buy 3 rx 560(used, sure) with that money. If not for directx 12, it stand no chance against rx 500 series.

Another thing to mention is for Linux user the Intel ARC kernel drivers aren't up to snuff yet compared to AMD, and even Nvidia, which lags being AMD.
Did you know that Resizable BAR and 4G Decoding is also available for some intel 300 series boards? Mine Asus H370-F does have it, although it tends to be buggy.

I haven't tried it myself, but there are a couple of UEFI mods that enable rebar support on older hardware, notably ReBarUEFI project.
I have I7-9700K + gigabyte H310M S2H and even though it's 9gen there is Resizable bar support... but I was unable to turn it on on Windows for some reason. As I was putting together this PC for gaming, I bought Sparkle A580, and for initial tests I tried using it on Windows thinking I will have less issues there. I was unable to boot to windows, so I returned it. Then I bought used RX 6600, and after I was unable to get to work Resizable bar on windows I switched to linux and had no issues there.

a little tip for people who are running older intel chipsets (x99 etc) althought not officially supported you can still enable rebar by modding the bios with a patch/driver

got this exact card and the A380 version working by happenstance on an MSI Z390 ITX board, as well as an old HP workstation (4th gen Intel). Encoding performance was pretty good, as well as Linux support.
What type of encoding were you doing?
All Arc cards have the same encoder / decoder silicon. As a fun side note, If you have a A770 LE, you can crossflash it to flex 170 assuming you can get your hands on proper firmware.
That's funny. I have an R5 3600, B450 board, and A770. That config isn't listed as supported, but I have ReBAR turned on and working just fine. I can't wait to check out the "B770" if Intel ever gets it through the door lol
Originally, SAM or Smart Access Memory was a Ryzen 5000 cpu and AMD 500-series chipset feature, but almost all motherboard vendors have added support for reBar in their bioses for almost all AM4 motherboards. However, the CPU limitation of at least Ryzen 3000- series (not the g) still stands, that's a hardware limitation.

Regardless of ReBar or not, that A310 is by far one of the best HTPC gpus for Jellyfin/Emby/Plex. AV1 Transcoding baby!
Amazon shows an XFX Radeon RX 580 GTS XXX Edition 1386MHz OC+ 8GB GDDR5 for $130 bucks brand new right now (how are there still new ones for sale?). Sure- power use is WAY more and driver support is iffy on some new games (Alan wake?)... but that's also way more GPU that works just fine in an older system. I might try under-volting that RX 580 card though... unless XFX really tuned it well for the OC versus just blasting more voltage.
State 3 1106 mV,4-1187 mV,5,6,7-1150 mV default. -30 mV(state 3,4,6,7) undervolt,state 5 -20 mV 1386 mhz(+20 mhz) sweet spot,4gb version.
Just for the sake of argument, Intel's 300 Series chipset motherboards with the latest bios has rebar support. So, 8th and 9 Gen Intel Core processors will be able to utilize that feature.
Similar thing happens with the 3060 12GB. Without resizable bar and on a weaker older quad core cpu because of nvidia driver overhead it loses out so much of its performance.
Pair it with R5 5600 and rebar enabled mobo bios, maybe a slight OC to 2GHz and its like a 25% better card.
I'm surprised because I think resizable bar effects moving things into vram, and if your card has 12 gb, then games should be moving everything into vram once then leaving it alone.
Maybe the difference was just a cpu bottleneck that had nothing to do with rebar.

I was pleasantly surprised when I found out my B350m motherboard supports ReBar. I'm not sure my RX6600 needs it, but it will give a bit more life time to the PCI 3.0.

Some board don’t even want to work with arc cards. Sometimes freezing if unlucky, sometimes not even responding.
Also goes without saying that another reason why you might want to avoid an ARC card right now, is that BattleMage will hopefully dropping around the the end of the year. So I'm guessing we'll get A770 performance for A750 prices, and also lower wattage usage from the new energy efficient architecture.
Hmm, obviously wouldn't recommend running Arc cards without rebar, but I feel like the performance drop off was much bigger than this at release. Could it be because the higher end cards had more performance to lose or because the driver updates have made it so Arc doesn't suffer as badly without rebar?

I'd love to see some more mini PC vids. Rather than testing your standard games though try testing things people would likely play on them (nobody has, I've looked). How do strategy games perform on them? Civ6, CK3, Stellaris, C&C, AOE. And Indie games? Dave the diver, and maybe some other lighter load games.
Most Importantly how low can you go? N100 or even down to celerons for some indie games. Some What can they play videos. Sorry i've had a few but you should definitely do this!

i'd say bigger issue with intel cards is that driver software is still garbage and there is A LOT of compatibility issues with older games
😒 Here's the takeaway, if your building a gaming pc with some old hardware wether its a custom pc or more than likely some old oem prebuilt with an oem power supply and your looking for a viable bus powered video card then your much better off sticking with tradional bus powered cards such as a GTX 750 750ti 1030ddr5 950 1050 1050ti 1650 3050, or the classic DDR5 video cards from Radeon HD R7 R9 RX, we are talking about something as far back as Pentium 4 Core2Duo Core2Quad Xeons or the classic AMD Athlons and FX rigs on AM2 AM3. Its obvious that the Intel Arc division does not care about supporting older hardware otherwise they would have added some cards into the lineup specifically for retro builds. If your running Radeon dont forget that the drivers with a modern Adrenalin control panel are available over at amernimezone they go as far back as HD 7000.

Average, 1%low, 0.1% low - those are all self-explanatory.
But what does Minimum framerate mean? It is CLEARLY higher than even the 1% low so it can not be the actual minimum framerate.
While frame times can be recorded individually, frame rates are recorded on a second by second basis. You could have multiple frame time spikes(both high which is bad, and low which is better) in the span of a single second. Your 1% or 0.1% low frame times may be lower, but the actual lowest recorded frame rate may well be higher.

🙂 Brother, the problem is RandomGaming does not have the FPS Graph enabled, its a squiggly line that runs below the number, on an ARC card you would see the line being drawn with alot of spikes and stutters, the numbers don't tell the whole story

Resize bar for Horizon Forbidden West made the difference from 20-200 seconds to compile the shaders (every loading screen): to almost instant! -such a HUGE difference!! I couldnt say ive noticed real difference in game though. (Or any other game) - [12900ks - 6700XT]
The backwards compatibility with older games is a huge dealbreaker for me.

The real usage I see for these isn't for gaming, but for pretty much every non-gaming use for a graphics card. It'd be amazing to slap one of these in a Jellyfin server for transcoding, certainly better than my $30 Jellyfin server built out of a shitty old Dell thin client. And not only that, it has way better Linux support than Nvidia GPUs and is cheaper than AMD offerings, meaning it would be even better to put one into a Linux server.
Id imagine pcie 3.0 systems would even further cripple the performance, so if you want an Arc card I wouldn’t even recommend anything that doesn’t at least have gen 4.0 support, especially for the lower end cards.
I debated getting one Intel card that was open box.. glad I went with the Radeon 7700xt OC instead ( also open box for ~$300 cdn)

I feel this is a big miss for Intel and a failure to understand the market. Most of their current lineup is decidedly low-end (performance and price at any rate) and the rebar issue makes this a no go for older hardware lacking rebar support that you wouldn't put higher-end hardware in. That makes a very narrow use case for Arc: low-end modern hardware where gaming is not the main priority. No wonder Arc has not set the world on fire.

ARC is not a problem, but pre-Battlemage is a not the wisest choice, especially when used stock is all over eBay and most of it will serve just as well as new - a 3070 is a better deal and will get you DLSS and RT - there is a reason that while the 3060 is now, as of posting, the number 1 GPU on Steam Survey, the 3070 is also right in that top 5 of cards 9both climbing, or I guess for 3060, likely to just sit there for a few months).

1st gen should always be avoided, but if everyone avoids 1st gen, there will be no 2nd gen. I would like intel to be a viable choice next time I buy a graphics gard. Got first A380 asrock ARC card by luck, 3060 run-out... Ok, it is poor performance for game but for SVP 4 Pro I can see all movie frame double to 4k 144Hz refresh rates on Dell G3223Q.... Yes, it's what Display Port 2.0 can do ...not throw it away. It is on second pc in living room.

No. You can enable above 4g decoding, wich might change something, but don't expect anything noticeable
It's absolutely possible to have ReBar on Turing or Pascal GPUs, though not all motherboard have the option natively. ReBarUEFI can fix that.
I really hope intel continues to make newer versions of these. They are a great 3rd option.
