The good old DV6 ….hate those leak off pipes …I still take a step back and double check it’s a Pug, #2 is #3 but the same engine in a focus is 1-2-3-4 from the cam..
Worked on a lot of DV6's for a taxi firm that used to run a lot of Peugeots. My experience is that the later ones (2010 >) are a much better engine. They went back to 8V so the injectors no longer go through the cam cover, and so they have a proper clamp. Old style used tiny studs with allen key nuts that only torque to 7nm and always seem to work loose. Also the studs have an 'e' socket heads which always used to shear off if you ever needed to remove the cam cover. Those ones were much worse for chuffing. I never really understood why they went to all the effort to make a diesel have 16 valves. 16v engines prefer to rev high and diesels don't lol. 8v low down power suits diesels better anyway.
The DV6 is a good engine but sadly plagued with injectors, DMFs etc. Glad of my DW10 when I had it, seeing and half dealing with the trouble of my parents' 1.6

At some point every tech in our garage has stripped the wrong injector out due to the backwards 1 to 4 layout 😅
@@danefeatherstone-barr3121 add me to that list 🫣

8 valve was definitely the most reliable of the DV engines the current 16v version is snapping the cam to cam chain regularly now
Do these almost weekly on the ford connect vans with the 1.5/1.6 engines in. They always come out like a dream which is a bonus.
Agree, I DIY the 4 injectors, pulled them out by hand, luckily.Needed coding, car runs much better and better fuel economy, diesel smell is gone.
great diagonose baz and love how you can find out what injector it is from the ecu and pins -never knew that :)
Hey Baz. Good work. 🤙 But dont unplug inectors while engine is running.... this is piezo and it can damage good injector or ecu.
Thank you for the diagnostic lessons 🙏🏾 u are a saviour
I have a small wire wheel glued in 6mm fuel hose and a drill bit the other end didn't know that kit existed ordering right now. Hero
Always tell people who have "stuck" injectors to twist not pull - twisting gets 'em loose, pulling does nowt.
Amazing work as always Baz! Thankyou for sharing the diag process! Enjoy your weekend buddy!
Simular engine to my Fiesta diesel as it's a Peugeot engine

good video that baz thanks for sharing that
Defoe the best on you tube BAZ have a top weekend Sir
great tips there baz outstanding
They're not bad injectors to do at all, works out well cause they're forever failing 😂
Awesome as always Baz 👍🏼
Never unplug a piezo while running. They can stay open and shoot a hole right through the piston. Otherwise great job
Really? Damn thats hardcore
Great video mate 👍
top work 👍
I think the new injector should have Come with a new plastic guide ? Ore am i over thinking it ,
Depends who they come off and what brand and if they have been remanufactured
You got a link to that inspection light you was using in the video 🤙
