  • Are you planning a trip to Ireland and aren't sure what to pack?
    I will share everything that I brought on a recent trip to the Emerald Isle where I went hiking in the countryside, explored the towns and enjoyed the culture that Ireland has to offer.
    I go through outerwear, clothes, shoes, accessories and toiletries that you will want to bring.
    Ireland has a very unique climate so there are some things you may not think to bring. I will give you tips and show you how to pack everything you need in a carry-on size luggage and backpack.
    If you would like my packing list or my Ireland Itinerary you can download them from my website here: www.photoquesttraveler.com/yo...

    Such a practical video! This is what I was looking for! I am going in June and I tend to get cold, now I know I need a dawn jacket and a cozy pair of leggings!

    Great advice! Thank you! You are my kind of gal! I was amazed you were able to pack your cozy blanket and your photography equipment. I’m traveling to Ireland and Northern Ireland with my dear, older friend for 3 weeks from mid-September through the first week in October. Now I’m confident she’ll be able to take her chenille robe and she’ll be so happy 👏👏I was hesitant about taking my little umbrella, but now I think I probably should. I’m also planning to take my comfy mid calf rain boots because wet and cold feet are my worst nightmare. We’ll be staying at Airbnbs with washers/dryers during 3 of our stops along the way so we don’t have to take too many under clothes (we’ve rented a car!) You’ve given me great hope that we can do this adventure with just one carry on and one personal item each, at least on our way from DFW to Dublin. 🤞🏼

      Thank you! ❤️ I always leave room for a cozy blanket! You are going to have so much fun! That's perfect that you will have a washer and dryer, you can take less outfits and just rewear them several times! The umbrella can also go in the waterbottle holder on the side of a backpack. Good choice on your boots, you'll be happy you have them! Can't wait to hear how your trip goes! I'd love to know your favorites in Northern Ireland since I haven't been. Have a blast 💚🥰💚

    Andrea, I just came across your video and I loved it! I live in Ireland and it is important to be comfortable in our changeable weather. All seasons in one day as you say! Just to let your viewers know that if they are looking for cheap clothes while here, a shop called Penneys would have most things you need. Most towns have charity shops too where you could pick up a cosy layer for a good price. Also, the east coast is much drier and warmer than the west coast. Safe travels ❤

      I'm glad you loved it! Thank you so much for your advice on getting clothes there! Good to know that the east coast is drier and warmer 💚💚💚

      Thanks so much for the helpful advice! We are so excited for our first trip to Ireland for our daughter’s wedding. We will be there from May 14-31 and will be traveling to the SW coast, Galway area, Waterford and of course Dublin. I’m struggling with what to pack because we live in Florida and don’t have cold weather clothes. I was hoping that wearing pants, long sleeves, a jacket or sweater and raincoat would be warm enough. We have bad knees and hips so don’t plan to do a ton of hiking. Will we still need to buy those extra warm clothes you talk about for travel this time of year? Thanks in advance for your help!

      @gpcsPat how exciting to be there for your daughters wedding! If you aren't going to be spending a ton of time outside, then you should be fine. Wear layers. You can always get extra clothes while you are there if you don't feel warm enough. Have fun! 💚💚💚

    I have gotten packing down to a single carry-on backpack. I carry three complete changes of clothing. I also have a sweater (jumper), waterproof jacket and a hiking vest with lots of pockets. All my documents go in the vest. Security is a breeze when I take off the vest, shoes and belt. Slip on shoes help. I don't have space for my hiking shoes, so that is out for me. It also helps when you get off the plane and head direct to car rental or out the door.
    I have lots of camera gear, half my backpack. So I pack socks and underwear to cushion the lenses. My tripod is on the outside of the backpack. That leaves me with four changes of clothes and all my equipment. My last trip to Ireland, I was there for three weeks and it was FANTASTIC.
    Toiletries are available at most hotels, so lighten the load and forget the toiletries. Adapters are very important. So use the toiletries space.

    Very practical and easy to understand! I have some repacking to do based on your suggestions. You are very fortunate to not need make up and look so good & healthy! If I were to try merino wool top for the first time- would you suggest short or long sleeve?

    • @andreabernhardt
      @andreabernhardt  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ahhh, thank you so much! You are so sweet 🥰
      I have merino wool long sleeve. My under t- shirts are a polyester blend. I haven't tried the short sleeve wool because sometimes they can be somewhat itchy (depending on the brand), so I'm more comfortable with a softer undershirt.

    Can you make one for and Ireland summer ? July ?

    • @andreabernhardt
      @andreabernhardt  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I would probably bring all the same things if i was going in summer, just a lighter weight version. Probably don't need a scarf, down jacket, or warm boots. I'd still bring lots of layers. Maybe bring a pair of Capri leggings for warmer days instead of Fleece lined leggings.

  • @heatherkarabeika2135
    @heatherkarabeika2135 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Would you bring these items even if it were Ireland in late June? Thank you!

    • @andreabernhardt
      @andreabernhardt  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would mostly bring the same things but a lightweight version. Layers will still be important. Instead of fleece leggings, I would bring normal leggings. You probably don't need a down jacket, mittens or scarf. Weather is so unpredictable in Ireland. I was there in July once and it rained every day.

    • @andreabernhardt
      @andreabernhardt  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I was there in October and November. I also went in July. It will tend to be colder during the shoulder months. It can still be chilly in the summer. It will be rainy no matter when you go.

    • @andreabernhardt
      @andreabernhardt  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      This would work for the shoulder season (Mar-May and Sept-Nov). I went in October/November timeframe. Layers are most important any time you go. In the summer I would bring lighter weight options.
