Cars are not small, only your car was small.
@beatrice1739 in comparison to the United States, the cars are smaller than someone might be used to.
Could you please advise on car rental? Who do you use? How hard is it to know how much toll you have to pay and where? Finally, will my American Express car rental insurance take care of the car rental? If you could, please reply. We’d really appreciate it!! That’s where we’re stuck, we leave for Dublin 9/29/24. Thanks a bunch!!
We really enjoy your TH-cam videos, beautiful videos and very informative!!
We used Sixt for our car rental. You can go to www.eflow.ie/ for more information on the M50 toll in Dublin. I'm not sure about American Express car rental insurance. You can always call them and ask. I'm so glad you enjoyed my videos!! Thank you for watching and enjoy your trip! 💚
This is my favorite YT channel for all things Ireland. We’re going for the first time next year. 😊
@seinfeldchik thank you so much! I'm glad you find it helpful! 💚😁💚
Thank you. My daughter and I are visiting Ireland in October this year. You answered some of my questions I had and couldn't find the answers to.
@LeslieBurkhammer you are so welcome! Glad I could help! Enjoy your trip 💚
Another question... We are traveling to Ireland next month and thinking about taking a cab from the airport to Dublin to stay for two nights. After that, we'll rent a car and start the driving portion of the trip. My question is - do you have a favorite hotel in Dublin to stay where everything is walkable for the first few days? Thanks for your great packing ideas and itinerary suggestions - and your photos are lovely!
I don't usually stay in Dublin. When we did, we stayed at Jury's Inn but that was in 2007 so not sure about now. It was right next to Christ Church. I would look at a map of Dublin and find something centrally located to where you want to go and look at the reviews online. I'm so glad you liked my video and I hope you have a fabulous trip!!!
Great advice wife and I visited late May this year it was fabulous. I loved driving wouldn’t go without my own car
@marksellers2499 thank you! Agreed, you can see so many amazing places when you drive yourself. I love the freedom to explore!
So helpful, thank you! Traveling there May 1-15th- would you suggest the same packing?
@@lauranglover521 you're welcome! Yes, I would suggest similar packing. 😊 Layers are best!
Do u ever add beef jerky?
@MaryAnneles I haven't added it to the mix because I feel like the flavor would take over. I would bring it separately, though 😄 Jerky is a great snack for hiking!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful experience. The video is exquisite and you have a perfect voice to narrate your trip. I can’t wait to go to Ireland ❤
You are very welcome! Thank you so much for your kind words!! I hope you have a fabulous trip!!!
I loved your video today. I just saw it and found out yesterday that I am going to Ireland with a friend and I had no idea what to do. A couple of questions/concerns: we are going Dec. 25 thru Jan. 4. Any suggestions? I have a CPAP machine that I have to take and not sure where to put it. I usually travel with a large leather tote bag where I put some of the things you are putting in the backpack. I guess I need to ditch the tote for a backpack. We are going to stay in an airbnb In Western Ireland and will be travelling primarily in that area. Thanks for your information and input.
I'm glad you found the video helpful! It will be colder that time of year so bring warm layers. I loved going around Christmas time! We were there at the beginning of December and everything was so beautifully decorated for Christmas! I would definitely recommend a backpack or a rolling bag but if you are only staying in one place it will be easier for you to travel with different types of bags. I prefer having my hands free and using a backpack. Not sure how big your CPAP is but I believe they are considered medical devices and you can take them with you as a carry-on which doesn't count as one of your carry-on allowances. Double check with the airline you are traveling on. It's up to you if you want to keep it separate or put it in your carry-on for ease of carrying less things. I'm guessing there are some videos or blogs that talk about traveling with a CPAP that you may want to check out. Western Ireland is so beautiful and I know you will LOVE Ireland! Make sure you check out my first time to Ireland video and my must see places in Ireland. Enjoy your trip :)
Do you have a favorite map of Ireland?
@karenhudson3799 I usually make my own using Google maps as a guide and mark down all the places I want to go on a traced out outline of Ireland.
Thank you,
You're welcome!
What time of year was this video filmed?
@@sergioforcatto373 we were there mid to end of October. 😀

What you packed is similar to what one would pack for Iceland. The only additional item to pack would be crampons. My wife and I did not pack a blanket, but did pack a down pillow for a 10 day trip to Iceland last November.
@michaelwolff305 good to know! Iceland is in my travel bucket list 😄 Thank you!
Andrea, you come over as a informed and genuine individual with some serious skills in photography and videography. Your recent St Simon's Island, Georgia is beautiful and well worth a view to anyone - even me, a Brit without a passport or funds to travel beyond England in this lifetime. I am so pleased to see you are almost 70% there towards monetisation whereas I am not even 10% there but we have to keep at it. Biggest Hugs from me, Nikki York, England
Thank you so much Nikki!!! I appreciate your kind words and your support! Big hugs to you as well and I wish you the best of luck with your channel. Keep it up and we will get there :)

Loved the great information! What compression cubes did you get for packing? You packed them then zippered the air out of them? Thanks in advance!
Glad you liked the information! The brand of compression cubes I used are Lewis N. Clark which I got a few years ago at Marshall's. You pack the cube and zip it up once then there is a second zipper that compresses it down further to save room.
Do you belong from Ireland?? Am a Dr by profession and applying fr the job at Ireland.....❤
I am not from Ireland. I live in the United States. Good luck with your job search!

Enjoyed your video. In my opinion you take far more ‘stuff’ than you need! That said, each to their own. Couple of thoughts: when flying we always put all our electronics and liquids together in one place so that it’s quick and easy to find them for going through security. If you’re pushed for space, some clothes can be worn and then carried after check in - not forgetting that the shoes you wear are one of the pairs for throughout the trip. We were in Ireland a month ago for 10 days and visited Belfast, Derry and did The Giants Causeway and coastal route and just started The Wild Atlantic Way in our Microcamper. Planning to go for 16 days next year as there is so much more to see! We are UK based. We are ‘just for the weekend van life’.
@jamesbrook16 thanks for your added tips! Yes, I'm sure I could take less stuff 😄 I'm constantly working on how I can cut things out of my packing list. The more I travel, the less I take.
We also use packing cubes in our Microcamper. I take a very different cube (actually a cushion cover!) so we can immediately see which is the bag with used clothes in.
@@jamesbrook16 Great idea! It's nice to have different cubes to know what's in each one. Didn't know they made some with a cushion cover! Cool idea
it is just a regular cushion, I took the filling out and reused the inside bit elsewhere and used the cover for my system’.
@@jamesbrook16 great idea! 😄👍
The smallest roads start with L and have 3/4 numbers, Google maps will send you down these little roads so ignore that direction! Back bacon is what you usually get for your breakfast, streaky would be unusual but might come with pancakes. Generally, the staff get the tip even when it's on the card, but we always check. If you're just visiting cities, I wouldn't bother with a car.
Great tips and clarification! Thank you for sharing! Good to know about the L roads 😄
😂streaky bacon is not eaten by people as a rule it is used to feed the pig we had pigs when I was growing up if we had a whole pig the streaky was boiled with all sorts of scraps it was called fodder.
I’m hoping to visit this summer from Liverpool, I’m torn between staying in Westport or hiring a car & staying in a different hotel each night but I’m concerned about the Invasion of “asylum seekers”.
@troytempest290 There's benefits to both! You could stay in one place and really immerse yourself in that one area. Seeing all the different areas is nice too though!
Very nice guide, thank you! We will be going Ireland in August. Do you think we should adjust the list for some lighter items? For example, will I need a wool hat and gloves? Secondly , if you are not bring a poncho, what are you going to rain proof your backpack that contains your camera?
Yes, you can adjust to lighter weight items. You shouldn't need a hat or gloves. You can get a dry bag and put your camera in it, then put it in your backpack. You can also get waterproof covers for backpacks. Up to you what you prefer. If it was downpouring, I would just take photos with my phone and leave the camera in the car. You can also tuck your camera inside your rain jacket.
Hello, I will be visiting in early August. Would you say it’s more rainy and mild or should I prepare for chilly weather?
I would be prepared for all weather. No matter when you go, you will run into rain at some point. It's summer, so temps should be warmer than spring or fall. Bring layers and have a great time! 😄
Where can I buy a purse like yours?

Which city wasn't nice haha I'm so curious now..
I decided not to share the town because I'm hoping it was just our experience, and it was just an off day. Sorry I didn't satisfy your curiosity! 😔
What were the second shoes you showed?
Those are Bogs Boots. They don't make that exact style anymore, but they have similar options.
What time of year is this packing for? Would it be the same for a 2 week trip in July?
I went in October/November. I would recommend this for Sept - May. In the summer months it will still be cooler so layers will be best 😊 November - February may be colder.
Planning a trip to Ireland and England next year. Would you recommend Northern or Southern as a first time visitor?
I haven't been to Northern Ireland yet. I would recommend anywhere along the wild Atlantic way. The whole west coast of Ireland is stunning to see for the first time.
This was a great video - the best so far in planning my trip. I love the details and also that you put the names in text so I could add them to my spreadsheet and find them easily on a map. Thank you!!! I will be taking a lot of your advice.
So glad you liked the video!!! Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment! I truly appreciate it ❤️❤️❤️ Enjoy your trip to Ireland! 💚

I love your positive attitude Andrea. I havent started a channel yet but plan to soon. It seems consistency and perseverance is the key. Thanks for sharing and good luck with your You Tube journey.
Thank you so much! Yes, even when you are discouraged about not getting as many views as you hoped for, just move on to the next video and do better every video. Good luck on starting your channel and have fun with it!!! 😄❤️😄
Thank you for these important reminders. I’ve been posting weekly for almost six months and I’m so proud I’m about to post video 25! Thankfully I love making the videos. I really do. It would be more than a dream come true to make money one day but I’m really doing this for my own creativity, performance, and self-expression in service of the audience spreading much needed love and inspiration. I’m struggling with who my audience is but I’m focusing on developing the content. I’ve learned everything frame by frame from content creators. Ugh. I do get discouraged but it’s a long marathon and I’m in for the long haul! ❤❤❤
Yay! Way to go 😄😄😄 You are very welcome! It's definitely a journey/marathon but it will be worth it! We just have to keep going ❤️ Your audience will find you 🥰
I would Like to let you know they Northern Ireland, is not a different country. The country you visited is full Ireland. And the it is occupied by the British empire. Irish people take grave exception to the six country’s of our country being called a different country. We have 32 country’s 26 are in the southern part. Very soon we will have 32 counties back. So to be politically correct just call it the north.❤ Thanks for the up load
Thank you for the clarification 😊
I’m going in the beginning of July. What do you recommend?
I would mostly bring the same things from the video but a lightweight version. Layers are going to be the most important. Instead of fleece leggings, I would bring normal leggings. You probably don't need a down jacket, mittens or scarf. Weather is so unpredictable in Ireland. I was there in July once and it rained every day and I wore pants and a lightweight shirt with a raincoat most of the time. Enjoy your trip!
This is the best video to date. Great photography, really captures the atmosphere on the island. Excellent recommendations.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it 💚💚💚
what brand were the shoes/boots for rain?
They are Bogs boots. They don't make that exact style anymore, but they have similar styles.
Yikes - locked in? What if there's a fire?
I'm sure we would get out in an emergency.
Aren't you supposed to have prescriptions in the original bottle for Irish customs?
We never had a problem with this. If you want to travel on the safe side and avoid any delays then yes, you should keep medication in prescription bottles. I know the TSA doesn't require it, but you're right. Irish customs may require it.
Im coming in September. Going to Dublin, Galway and Belfast. Any of these not hospitable??
You will have so much fun! I haven't been to Belfast. I would see the Wicklow Mountains while you are in Dublin. So many great spots near Galway 💚 Enjoy!
