Depends on when you visit! Summers can get quite busy but when you start walking around the island, outside of the main street, you can find plenty of peace!
Great video. Mackinac Island is absolutely lovely. Mackinac Island is actually located with Lake Huron which is actually the 2nd largest lake in the world. A very popular and beautiful place in summer. Mackinac Island has a history. Thank you from Fort Worth, Texas

I was hoping you would see this video! So glad you liked it. I’m not sure if I will have time this summer but I would really love to check out Keweenaw Peninsula!
Thank u sooo much for this great episode 🌹 I just wanna tell u that I’ve watched many other videos about Mackinac island but urs showed many deferent angls and new spots 👍👍👍 Thaanks 🌹
This is a great video. I run a color-change souvenir and gift store (Del Sol) in Mackinaw city 2 blocks from Sheplers Ferry. I can vouch and say this video is both accurate and fantastically done, and in about 7 minutes. Great job. I can say that Sheplers Ferry is a much more reliable choice for the ferry.
From Michigan been to the island many times. In the winter when tbeake freezes they "plant" a row of pine trees from mainland to the island marking a snowmobile path. Snowmobiles in the winter are the only gas motors on the island.
Thank you for showing us this charming island. I wonder, though, where is the largest city from where one can get to the ferry in order to get to the island?
@@LukeGeeTravels Live on the other side of the continent in beautiful Vancouver, Canada, so it won't be any time soon but nice to know, if I'm out east in the future. Thanks.
@TVY2013 i’ll have to come out explore! Love Vancouver - I’ve been to Golden Ears park but didn’t make it to the top due to snow. Anyway if you ever decide to go to Mackinac - I have a few other videos of things to do up there that you MUST see!
If I can ever find time! It has been a busy summer from traveling overseas to some roadtrips around here. Soon enough I’ll be moving to Colorado. Never say never though!☺️
Take the ferry boat, from where? which place do I reach starting from Detroit to rake the boat to this amazing island. I am planning to visit this summer. Thanks for the wonderful video 👍
You can take a boat from either Mackinaw City or St Ignace. The two companies that operate the ferries are Shepler's and Star Line - both are great companies. Enjoy your time!
I'm from Harbor Springs... Mackinac has always been phenomenal but local rumor has it that recently the Island has become a top destination for child traffickers. People used to bring their families there but now local mom's are scared to go with their kids. Keep a close eye on them is what I hear anytime it comes up.
Actually there are only about 500 of us live here year round. Are you the guy that got in trouble from the police for the illegal drone flights over the Island?
@beammeupscotty6516 you can check your luggage with the ferry and they will transport it go the island. As far as getting it to your hotel ON the island you will have to coordinate that with them. I know the Grand Hotel offers complimentary service to transfer luggage of their guests to their room. Hope this helped a little!
While it might be beautiful, it's not worth going anymore, very much a tourist trap considering that 90% of the town, both Ferry boat services and The Grand Hotel are owned by investment companies or foreigners. Overpriced at every corner. Took over 1.5 hours to get to the island
Everyone’s experience varies. I disagree, I got on one of the first ferries, enjoyed my time, drove around the island on the bikes and had a blast. Are the prices of hotels on the islands exorbitantly high? Absolutely! I would never pay $300-500 per night for a hotel
Depends what you're looking for moron. Mackinaw Island is indeed magical in many ways. Incredible views, horse drawn carriages, great food, nostalgic atmosphere, peaceful, bike tours, bars, and more.
It must be so peaceful and quiet

I cannot think of another place in the USA that has banned cars. This island is very beautiful, well put together video, Luke
It is really unique and I think it just adds charm to the place! It was really cool to see mail man delivering mail on a bicycle!
In Michigan no less! The home of the US auto industry.
Yessir! I just love all the beautiful places and small towns around the state!
Beautiful place to visit. I have been there many times.
It is! It’s quite unique and unlike any other place I know in the US
Timeless Classic. Now , that I am aware. Definitely on my list of destinations to explore.
It’s suchhh a fun place to visit in the summer! If you’re going up that way to Michigan, I have a few other videos from Michigan that may interest you
Such a beautiful place, Can't wait to visit. ♥️👍
It feels like stepping back in time! You will love it! Have a great time
Amazing videos!! Great to see the love for my beautiful state of Michigan. 😊

That really means a lot! Thank you so much, really glad you enjoyed it and found it interesting!
No cars? Sounds like my kind of a place! 😍
Just horse buggies and bicycles! It’s feels like going back in time!

That means so much! Thank you very much! If I ever come back out that way in Michigan, I’ll be sure to pay your store a visit! 🙂
I would love to live someplace with no cars.
It’s a different lifestyle! You can even go live somewhere out west here in USA and never see another human being for miles on end!
Some people do Mackinac year round, but you need to invest in a snowmobile 😅

Apart from emergency service vehicles, AT&T van, Edison Sault truck, State park plows & DNR truck
That’s really interesting, thanks for sharing that! Are the stores even open during the winter?
Thank you for showing us this charming island. I wonder, though, where is the largest city from where one can get to the ferry in order to get to the island?
Either St Ignace or Mackinaw City! They both offer ferries although I prefer St Ignace as I chose to go with Sheplers, you won’t be disappointed:)

@@LukeGeeTravels That's good to know that you have more videos on Mackinac should I make it out...Thanks.
My family and I have been going to Mackinac every year without fail since I was just a baby. So many fun memories.
Luke if you come to Indiana 4 hours south I would like to show u some of my favorite trails!
If I can ever find time! It has been a busy summer from traveling overseas to some roadtrips around here. Soon enough I’ll be moving to Colorado. Never say never though!☺️
I would say its one of many magical places in Michigan.
ONE HUNDRED percent agreed with you! Pictured rocks, porcupine mountains, all the lighthouses - just to name a few
Great video! My favorite place in our gorgeous state!❤
It’s unique! For me it’s Pictured Rocks but I have yet to explore Copper Harbor area!
@@LukeGeeTravels definitely! What a wonderful job you do with your videos!

does this island have another hotel to stay at? because the grand hotel charges like 700 a nigtht or more, too expensive for me.
Absolutely! There are plenty of other Bed & Breakfast you can search for on google. Those I saw for around $150-200 depending on the time of year
Can you rent a tandem bicycle?
Absolutely, they have plenty! I recommend Ryba’s because they were super friendly and efficient but you will find plenty of shops along the way
Awesome video but you should clarify that lighthouse is not on the island
Thank you for the feedback Kevin
Nice
Thank you :)

Seriously?! Why do people have to ruin beautiful things:/ i hope the rumour isn’t true and people can enjoy the place
I use your videos to show my Thai girlfriend places she might want to visit in my michigan home.
That is awesome! I’m super happy to hear that! Hope this covinces her to explore Michigan!
Actually there are only about 500 of us live here year round. Are you the guy that got in trouble from the police for the illegal drone flights over the Island?
My mistake, and no, I did not
Can you explain the logistics of getting your things to the hotel this is always skipped

I think the hotel is haunted in mackinac island i have seen some videos about it
Really? I didn’t know. I’ll have to look it up myself now

this stuff gave me diabetes: 2:33
It’s worth a try, you can just try a piece of it
I don’t consider Michigan to be Midwest.
Don’t believe it, it’s underwhelming, and boring
That is your opinion, I disagree
