I have to 100% agree. Im not invested in college football but this commentary changes it for me. He paints a picture with candor & humor. Im fully invested now. I hope we get more commentary because this is chefs kiss
The gradual meltdown was entertaining. 🤣🤣 Miami wasn’t blitzing, Bruh. They set back to defend the screen game and relied on the front 4 to generate pressure.
That shows how little the Gators threatened down the field. They didn't consistently try to go down the field enough to warrant extra pressure, and even when the Gators kept their TE in to block, the Hurricanes still got to the quarterback.
Canes fan first, Gator fan second (out of being a Gator Dad and enjoying being in the Swamp supporting the Gators before). I got your postcast by chance and I LOVE IT. Great analysis and objective review, so much better than other focused on Gators that I had watched before. Well done! I am a subscriber now.
@iamdanielaugustin And a source of pride, although for sometime it would kill me to look at the UM student section and think about the fact that my daughter could have been there but wasn't. She turned down a scholarship from UM but all is great since UF helped made her a mature, independent and brilliant young woman. For that I can always say Go Gators!
The most astonishing thing was right before the half running the clock out with 2 timeouts. He’s the first coach in Florida history I honestly think has a loser mentality.
COME ON!! Where does he get off thinking playing it passive and safe will be a good way forward?! ESPECIALLY knowing Miami gets the ball coming out at halftime! It was infuriating to watch!!
The best players on your team is that #3 WR and #10 LB from what I saw. Miami went through what UF is going through. People do not understand the devastating impact that hiring the wrong coaching staff(s) will have on your program. And of course it gets worse when you replace the wrong staff with another wrong staff. That has been Miami's problem for a long time. That and Miami not having an elite QB in two decades. But I will never understand why UF fans are shocked at losing to Miami. UF's record against Miami since the year 2000 is 2 wins, 6 losses.
Because UF has a sense of self importance and has more Championships than Miami believe it or not. The Gators are warranted for thinking they can win, but they can't possibly think that moving forward, they have a real chance at competing because they clearly can't do it with this unit. The players are talented enough to compete. Cam Ward would've likely still won the game for the Canes but there were athletes on both sides.
@@BrianKorth-nu7gw Well, like I said, those were the best players that I saw. I do not follow UF. The backup QB looks like he will be fantastic in time, but I'd be worried about him transferring now. There is no way your coach survives his season. I don't think there is a team that could have gotten through UF's schedule unscathed. That schedule is brutal. Good luck back.
Good point you made about the attitude of players and staff maybe feeling like they could just roll out of bed Saturday. Billy is one of those Saban assistants that thought the key was recruiting and having a million coaches on staff, and not the excellence of the coaching and game planning. Saban didn’t just have better players, they were more prepared than you every week. That’s what Mario is trying to do and it looks like we’re heading in the right direction. Never thought I’d see a game against UF where we physically looked the part of the SEC school and they didn’t. I fully expected to wake up and see Billy was fired based on that but 26 million is a lot of money and I get them not wanting to start over again, we’ve been in the same place they are now.
HMM!! INteresting! Didn't realize he was from the Saban tree, thanks for that and yeah, interestingly enough, these Florida schools all tend to have their moment in the sun, followed by like 3-5 years of rebuilding. It feels like the Canes went through a ten year rebuilding process honestly but they are going to be FUN to watch! College Football is so much better when the U is a dangerous team
Great analysis.. long time Gator fan from the Spurrier years. You are 💯 when you said they have no identity. Napier just calls plays, he doesn't scheme to beat defenses. I honestly said to my brother, who was a Canes fan, that the Gators were gonna lose after trying to run East/West on 3rd and 4 on their first store series. I saw the L coming, the first drive, of the first game of the year, and that's what you call? You had all off-season to gameplan, and you manufactured 1 first down on the first drive. He's in over his head! I really hope the look at someone like Kentuckys, Mark Stoops or even Lane Kiffin.
MARK STOOPS is a good one! & damn, the Spurrier days were just so lovely! I miss that!! You told no lies here!! It feels like Florida scripted their first play and then that was it!! Interestingly enough, when I saw that play that you mentioned the east/west thing about, I said the same exact thing on my twitter. I knew it was going to be trouble and was still holding out hope but i knew what time it was right away. Just terrible!!
FSU's identity is running the ball, they just couldn't. GT was regularly abusing them at the line of scrimmage. DJU didn't lose the game for them, but he was ill-equipped to win it.
That's a good take. I do know they have a stable of backs but I think they also have big play WR's who can make plays on the outside that GA Tech can't cover so sometimes, yes, you may wanna run the ball, but sometimes, the other teams weaknesses need to become your strength for you to win. You don't just get to line up and win every game the same way. But you're right, they do have RB's that they wanted to get involved, but they also played better when they were on the attack and putting the ball in the air. If you baby your QB, he'll crawl all the way to finish line.
@@iamdanielaugustin FSU is definitely going to have to make some adjustments. Much like, GT, everyone is just going to stack the box and dare them to throw the ball. If the Noles can't counter that strategy it is going to be a very long season for them.

Gator fan here and you're spot on. Miami skull dragged us in our own home. UF should have been set free this morning by sending Billy on his way. I'd rather lose with an interim that with Napier.
FACTS!! At least w/ an Interim there'll be a ticking clock and real stakes! Billy has no stakes because he knows they will owe him 20+ million if they fire him. So he has no sense of urgency!
Not one player or coach showed up ready to play Saturday... not one. I agree with you the gators have a coaching problem. The team seems to have adopted Billy's mumbling lack luster energy less personality. Hats off to Miami. Side note... gators have a real.chance of loosimg to every power major Florida team this year.
Miamis offense isnt rpo based. Dont know what u saw. They had 13 plays of 20 yards or better. They did check down a few times because florida kept playing zone. They would not go one on one with the receivers because they knew their db's are cheeks😂. And just for reference a shootout means both teams are scoring back and forth.....this wasn't that bro. So stop saying shootout
You misheard me. I said this should've been a shootout. It's the only way the Gators would've kept up. And the U switched it up often but they had quite a few RPO plays where they moved the chains and also gained momentum. Big plays. Some short, some down the middle of the field. But essentially, because Cam Ward can run, every play is a RPO as well.
@iamdanielaugustin Lol😂.....we beat u gator fans into delusion. I never thought I'd see the day. The fact that u even thought u had a chance is extremely shocking!! #GOCANES🙌🏿
They're going through the same thing Miami was or maybe still be going through, changing coaches every 3 years so they're is no consistency in recruiting and culture. They had Mullens which won 30 games in 3 years and got fired which was insane meaning expectations are to high. Spurrier and Urban are long gone . Also I would make the rookie QB Lagley their new starter and let Mertz hit the transfer portal. Napier at this point has nothing to lose by making this change because he's already on the Hot seat so you mind as well do something radical. Let's see what happens but if Napier wins 6-6 or slightly better, he should win coach of the year and keep his job. Otherwise, you'll go through this all over again. My opinion
@@chaddagreat regardless, you can't change coaches every 2-3 years and expect immediate results. Plus college football in my opinion is more evenly balanced throughout college. I also believe if Cristobal can consistently have Canes winning, the South Florida kids will start lining up to play there. That's the key in keeping Georgia and Alabama out of South Florida as much as possible. I still think Gators are decent but maybe Napier needs a OC . And I don't want to hear SEC, SEC!!
