Threw off the speedometer by 3.7 mph but the performance on gravel and through the snow was fantastic. Left everything stock and cleared the inner wheel well like they were made for it. Since then I got an ND Miata and continue to love life. Thanks for the content and keep rockin!

I think that the truck tire in the case of a daily driver/weekend rally owner is going to ultimately offer the best experience. It's unlikely to be the fastest tire due to weight of the construction but you are less likely to end your weekend early because you blew a tire and need to try and get a replacement in time to go to work on Monday.

A pro tip for beginner rally drivers, put in tubes in tires. There is a big chance you will bend the wheels hitting hard rocks, trees etc. Old school tubes in tires will let you finish the race at least and the tire wont go off the rim so easily. Its It's a cheap, kinda oldschool way, but it works

I feel like you really shorted the truck tires. A closed-shoulder highway-style tread doesn't seem ideal for rally. I would have gone with an AT, like Cooper Discoverers or Hankook Dynapros. I actually went with Dynapro MTs on mine, as our tracks tend to be either sandy black dirt or clay, & often have mud holes.

i think the tire pressures might have a lot to do with that stopping distance because the different sizes will make the tire sidewall roll over and flex much differently. maybe do an episode playing with optimal offroad tire pressures?
also i think the slightly damp dirt on course will give you an advantage over the previous video as less dirt moves around while you drive and its not slick mud.
the truck tire will be best mainly because of sidewall thickness. I've blown holes in a few sidewalls in my subaru while sliding around hairpins. Any big rocks when ur doing that will just go right through with all season car tires

Snow tires are terrible on gravel. They are way too soft for it and they pick up rocks. Those small cuts in them, meant to increase grip on ice and snow make it so that grip on other surfaces is pretty bad compared to a normal tire. And since I've only used winter tires in winter climate +10°c to -20°c, I can only imagine how bad they would feel in the summer. Would be like driving on a sponge.
Also, they are way too wide for rally racing. At least in the front. 205 would work at the back but the front should really have 175-185.
So in the end, if you want to go with a non-rally tire, an all-season tire would be best. Made to work in all conditions/climates but still meant to have grip in slippery conditions.

Great video as always and seeing the difference in each tire will be greatly beneficial to the direction of the rest of the series.
Totally unrelated questions though about things that happened to catch my attention in the video.
1.) Are you just going to install a roll cage and not give us an entire episode on that???
2.) The red Tacoma that delivered the tires, could that be a contender for hi low season 2? If so, I'm so ready for it!
