    It always amazes me that there are so many troops, bands and officers accomodated at Wellington Barracks. Bravo. The very best of British.

      Timothy Norris Wellington Barracks is the home of Nijmegen Company Grenadiers, Nbr 7 Company Coldstream and F Company Scots, all of which are public duty regiments, when their senior Companies or the Irish and Welsh take public duties they come from their barracks at Aldershot, Windsor, or Catterick respectively.

    What a show!! Simply the best soldiers in the world. The only ones who can't see that are British politicians...

    I love the marching music which begins at 05:36. It is called first and finest, and was played when the Grenadier Guards was trooping the colour in 2014. Unfortunately, the video on youtube no longer exist due to copyright ground.... Can anyone post it back??? Or just post the slow march Espirt de Corp along with this piece of marching music???

    At 5:20 they start playing the Cantina from Star Wars. I wonder why as this is presumably a military inspection.

      Well partly that, but also to do with history. At the Battle of Waterloo, when the British won, they picked the bearskins off of the French soldiers and now they wear them as a sort of battle trophy.

      same type of reason as US army Old Guard Fife and Drum wear what they wear -- history and tradition!

    Why are the 5 guardsmen at the back dressed in Kahki?

    • @anguskirk918
      @anguskirk918 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because God decided it was what they would wear....... in other words they either got to fat and couldn't fit their No1s or they had no more No1s and the RSM (god) made the decision they naked Guards was not in the regiments best interest to parade, as it may offend the precious and sacred eyes of the kind hearted Major General.
      hope this helps
