    Something to note DJI has now made it possible to record in 10 bit on the mini pro 3 also if you’re strictly buying this drone to stay under the 250g mark just know the extended life battery will put you over 250 grams not sure why they did this considering it’s a drone targeted at being in the sub 250 category

    • @davidwatchesyoutube247
      @davidwatchesyoutube247 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      What happens over 250g not being sarcastic - like a regulation for weight?

    • @brianfaught5141
      @brianfaught5141 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yes FAA state you have to register and have a drone license for any drone over 250grams. However with that said it is a good idea to register any drone you have.

    I think calling this entry level, or for beginners professionals is overkill. This drone does exactly what it’s designed for. It’s a creators drone, and damn good one. I have seen several videos from the high profile TH-camrs, and IG creators that pumped out amazing results with this drone from there adventures. They are not beginners, or entry level. They are creators that make a damn good living doing what they do best, and this is a tool that does the job. With its price point, no more cable and using a phone, and size it’s a home run. I sold my Mavic 2 Pro. I just never brought it on trips, I hated setting up my phone with it, and packing it. This is perfect. Small, under 250g, easy pull out and shoot. The best camera for job is one have on you, this is that tool. I just hate how people think cause it’s not a 3K drone can’t make any good living, or quality video out of it. Just my opinion of course.

    All of the mini's are incredible starter drones. I owned the mini, mini 2 and now preordered this. I shoot real estate full time and these drones fit that spot perfectly. It never was about price, its about me being able to fly wherever i want. If it wasn't for regulations id have the mavic 3 pro, so the mini's will have to do.

      @@joebeck0 I just started messaging realtors, or builders offering to shoot at a really cheap rate. Alot of people don't like this business model to grow but if you're playing the long game and want to grow at a rapid rate this is the best way of doing that. In real estate clients are key, so building a relationship is worth the time (spent) shooting for cheaper.
      Also you don't need to be the best, but make sure your prices reflect that to some degree. Experience is worth something too, people who expect to be paid full rate when they're new will either grow really slowly or get little to no work. Because whys someone going to pay you the same money for less quality work.
      Most businesses have competition. But you can always do better than someone else. I include my drone photos for free. Why? Because they take me 10 minutes and it adds a tremendous value to the shoot. And sure you could charge for that down the road but I see it as a way to put myself ahead of alot of other people who charge for every little thing.
      And lastly, customer service. If your customer service is top notch you will do well in most industries. People love feeling like they matter and that you care about them and their brand. Treat them like family and you will gain a client for life.
      Hope this gives you some advice :)

    5:18 🤣 I agree with a lot of your points. However, a lot of my peers are wondering about the Pro controller. NITS and what other drones it is compatible with. Is it close in functionality/range of the RC Pro? What that is sorted then the decision becomes easier. Personally, I will stick with the Air 2S until Remote ID goes into effect for the end user. Then, I will revisit the Mini category.

    Being in Europe, the 249g size has no benefits really. You still need a license due to the recording capabilities for example and the license you need allows you to fly larger drones too. I went for both A1/A3 and the A2 open sub category license myself, and from signing up to the course to having the license in hand (digitally), I spend no more than 2.5 hours (study time and two tests included - I did lie and checked the box for having flied some specific patterns, as I had flied them before). However, be aware though about pricing. I saw so many places charging 4-600 euros for these courses. When I went to the Swedish Transport Agency (which I can since I am registered in Sweden and have Swedish social security details etc.), it cost me a total of 20 euro (15 for the license and 5 for the operator registration).
    Just in case someone in Europe is considering this for the size alone.

      Under EASA rules (which are in effect in the EU and Norway), you do not need a training/certificate for drones under 250 grams. Because the Mini 3 Pro has a camera, you do need to register as a drone operator. Naturally you will also need to respect area-specific rules such as No-Fly zones and restricted zones.

      Agreed, I fly an air 2s in the mountains and I just can't do the mini... wind, altitude, and I love the 10 bit color of the air 2s for just $400 more ish on sale. I also am getting a part 107 pilot license though so if you don't want to register a drone than the mini 3 pro is the best. I still have to register the mini 3 pro if I put my videos on TH-cam though because it's considered monetary. So overall I prefer the air 2s for those reasons still

    I can see stuttering in the footage which is always see in my DJI drones. Good to see everyone gets the same thing stuffing up their footage

    Hey @Parker Walbeck as of a few days ago DJI released firmware update v01.00.0100 which added 10-bit color when shooting in D-Cinelike!

    I just bought a second hand Mavic 2 pro with the smart controller for a little over 1200... And I just now figured out about this. I'm kicking myself so hard right now

      If you're a pro level shooter who needs the colour depth and bigger sensor size, you're better with the 2 Pro. If you need small form factor and don't care about pro features then ... yes you may cry a little lol.

    Thanks for making this video. It was very helpful for someone considering getting into drone photography and video making.

    Great video and information! I would consider putting a disclaimer somewhere about the 8 Bit critique since that was one of your biggest criticisms and is in fact capable of 10 Bit.

    I want to know how that pro controller experience. Is it as simple a turn it on and go, or it it more like having a phone built in (turn on, launch app, update up, update controller, update drone, restart, reconnect, relaunch app, then fly)?

      @@daniell1869 I really like the portability factor. If it’s not being used for progressional productions I can see this drone excelling. An excellent starter drone.
