I had the same problem. I videoed it and they kept saying that they couldn't reproduce the problem. Right after the 3 year warranty was over they found the problem. $3500 they wanted to fix it. I sold the truck! My dumb arse bought another and 3 weeks of ownership the same problem!
My screen went black today for the first time 2017 Silverado. I replaced the radio fuse, removed the battery terminals and let it sit for 20 minutes and even made sure the wiring to the controller was seated properly behind the glove box. Backup camera still works. Taking it to the dealership to see if it’s just an update.
@@JB-hs6km first off, make sure they have the part in stock before you go there. Second should only take about 45 minutes. All they are doing is replacing the front screen of the radio. Pretty straightforward. Don't let them bullshit you!!!

Just bought a brand new 2022 Chevrolet Silverado Turbo. And this has already happened. BRAND NEW TRUCK! Apparently the “engineers” at GM haven’t fixed the problem. I took an a Ford man. I too took a chance on Chevrolet. Never again. NEVER AGAIN!

My 2021 rst started to go out randomly and then would come back on. It’s been out for about a month now. Dealership said it’s the radio. On national backorder with no eta. Unfortunately I haven’t had such a good experience dealing with GM about it. They’ve done nothing but lie to me and I’m about ready to get rid of this truck.
They told me it was a radio too at least three Times, they had to call the technician at GM headquarters and they told the dealer to check the screen. The display screen is separate from the radio. 9 times out of 10. That's the problem. Sorry to hear you're having problems. Hopefully get it fixed soon
Sierra 2022 2500hd screen went black .back light still lights up .rear camera turns on screen when vehicles been put in reverse .But no other feature works .any suggestions ?
@@RayCordero-y4f that's a new one for me, I would go talk to the service manager at your local dealer. Go in and personally ask for the service manager easy. They can give you a better answer than a service writer.
my 2019 ltz has the built-in navigation, and as long as the sd card is plugged in, the system will reboot between 2 min-60 min after starting. the dealership replaced countless parts. i was able to give them steps to reproduce the crashing. never did get it fixed. i just wish i could remove the navigation or whatever is causing the crash. or at least disable the stupid sd card removed error. that disables the crash detection, which should be a safety recall!
I'm sorry brother! Could the SD card be corrupted?? My issue was when I use the remote start in the morning the screen would completely black out, they ended up replacing the front screen. That There was an issue with the first gen screen face.
All I have ever driven is Chevy but after all my issues with a brand new 2017 HD I think I may be changing brand of truck I drive. Transmission went completely out at 62k miles charged me 5k to fix now the radio stopped working and get trailer brake errors constantly. GM isn't what it used to be
These newer trucks are total POS. I bought a 2021 2500hd denali amd it broke down after 2 months. Had to get towed. Looks like BCM is bad. How tf the BCM electronics gonna go out that fast.
Hey WTF, my 2019 GMC Sierra radio and touchscreen has a mind of its own. It just works when it wants to, and goes black once in a while. I'm on my 4th attempt at the GM dealer! These 2019 GMC trucks are a far cry from my 2001 Siverado, and twice as much money! LOL
Problem with the dealer is they have to make it happen or see it happen. They're a bunch of tools. I swear they won't. Just take your word and fix it. I don't get it. Keep trying make their lives miserable. They'll fix it eventually.
My 2020 Silverado blacks out constantly. Took it to the dealership cutter chevy in honolulu hawaii about 6 times. They reset it a bunch of times then changed the usb port. Still intermittently going black. Ill show them this vid.
Definitely!! I had the same exact problem and the display in front of the radio was faulty. Once they replaced the display the problem has never returned
push in blue connector at intelli-line connection..... They keep changing screens at dealerships and find out after a few tries if you simply push in cable.. it is fixed ! Under glovebox.
@@robertwadas I just bought this truck from a friend, the radio works. The display screen is black. I asked my friend about it and he said tap on the screen and it will light up for several minutes only it will not last. I did and if you tap on the left side the left side lights up and if you tap on the right side the right side lights up. I'm thinking its a connection problem. I also found out if you take your hand and put pressure on the screen it will light up but when you release that pressure it will go out. Mine is out of warranty. I'll try the blue connector open to any further suggestions. Thanks

Mine started doing it slowly and then it got worse, sometimes it didn't work first thing in the morning when I started up the vehicle then later in the afternoon when I started the vehicle again it came on. If yours is doing the same thing it's definitely the display not the radio.
I turned off the truck, opened the driver door closed it back, locked the doors, left the truck off about 15 minutes or so longer to be sure the whole system was powered down, and then I turned it back on, the logo showed instead of the radio, then a reminder appeared and I was able to "touch/click" okay! The main menu layout appeared and the touch screen was back in working order! I know this could happen again or possibly be worse next time, but as a quick fix it is a great feeling to see it work on my 2019 model. Just a word of wisdom that helped me after searching a few videos. You got ripped off... they actually secured the connection on blue cable at the intelli-link control box... but they won't tell you ! 10 min fix yourself !
I only would have got ripped off if it would have cost me money. Fortunately it was covered under warranty. I dropped it off during an oil change and they fixed it
@@sef2273 Pull the glove box out, remove the bottom under the glove box and look up and you will see the wires connected to computer.. Very simple.. 8ish little bolts... Literally took me 10 min.
Well seeing how the truck is under warranty I would expect everyone to take it to the dealer and not try to fix it themselves or it would void the warranty, I was just explaining my situation. What's crazy is when I was at the dealer waiting to drop my truck off there was at least three other people that had the same problem and they were back and forth three or four times. I hope you're not having these issues. It's a pain in the ass leaving your truck at the dealer

It is on the 2nd one mow in 42,000 miles.

This just happened to our 2020 GMC Denali after wife cleaned the screen with the power off.
That's a new one, I would disconnect the battery It might reboot the system. If not, it's definitely the screen face.
