It was humiliating walking in a dress. But I did it for my family. They wanted to see their daughter graduating, not their boy-girl in slacks and a tie. So I did it. This scene hits hard because, yeah, had to do that. You don’t want something like that immortalized. But you do it anyways. To make your family happy.

The mom was dying and boo couldn't even dress up for her on her death bed. If my mom asked for me to dress like a clown on her death bed I'd do it. That's not too much to ask. But of course, Boo didn't wanna be considerate in the least bit. As a mom who has to mediate between my son and his dad I know how it feels to be in the middle and it's exhausting.

here’s the thing, i think boos dad wanted her to be happy but he also wanted his wife happy too. he was never trying to turn her into something she wasn’t, or make her do anything drastic. he just wanted her to put on a front for a few moments to make other people happy. it was never for him, he tried to meet her in the middle with everything. and even in the final part of this story i think he didn’t want to upset boo but he was also trying to keep peace in his wife’s final days/moments. i can respect that, he was just trying to be a family man.
