Same bunk rules in the Navy, we call them rack. E-1 to E-4 (Seaman recruit to Petty Officer 3rd class) are in the top rack. E-5 (Petty Officer 2nd class) get the bottom rack. And E-6 (Petty Officer 1st class) get the middle rack.
Hey Brad, love your channel. 60 years old and I want to tour as a guitarist or bassist. I've had experience but that was a loooong time ago riding seated in club vans 11-13 hours to the next show across Canada. I would love to be in any bunk! Thanks for the great info!
Bad weather. No worries. This 19 yr old guy I knew went to Florida with his parents. He fell asleep. When he woke hours later he wondered what all the commotion was about. His mom said, "Brian, you just slept through a hurricane."
@badbrad OK. Yes sir. Batteries, flashlights, water, cash on hand, canned soups, medicines, etc. You can get a brochure on hurricane kits where you are located. 🙂
In the late nineties, BR5-49s sound guy Jeff was called Poo. I finally asked what his name was and was told Jeff but because he committed the sin of going number 2 on the bus!!! He's currently working with Dylan but still called Poo. It stays with you. Lol great video and people can learn a lot of they practice and learn from this.
@@badbrad yeah. I thought that you'd get a chuckle out of that story. I learned that when I road managed them to SXSW 1999. You also need ear plugs if I'm on the bus cause I'm a snorer.
Alrighty……….that was the best piece of advice about being the FNG!!!!!! If you would like a bus driver’s perspective, contact me directly if you would like to talk. I am a professional entertainment coach driver. I also lived on buses for 31 years. 😎🎸
Shouldn't a pro level tour bus has some type of side restraint for bunks... to stop rolling out while sleeping? Seems that would be a required 🦺🛟 safety factor... ✌️
Here's a SUPER VETERAN MOVE for a bus, go to Wal-Mart, pick up 5 gallon pails with lids, some wet wipes, some glade or Lysol, one can theoretically drop deuces all day long with a stack of pails with lids. NEVER let it get to clenched cheeks.

It makes sense....
I play 2 quilters, stereo, w line 6. Killer sound anywhere.

Best to you brother and here’s to not getting a top bunk.
@@badbrad are you still in Nashville or…?
I would relocate from this town in a heartbeat if I could make a living playing guitar.

Elvis on the wall!
Yes indeed and the inspiration for London Calling Album cover.
Thanks Brad. Great touring insights. Yea, man, us Floridians definitely need hurricane kits. Peace, bro.
I still need to put one together any recommendations ?

I've been using Dual lock for over a decade now and I don't even go out on tour!
It is the best...

They don't. Just a curtain....
Life on bus not for everyone.
You got that right....
#1 rule: no #2
Oh ya!

That's a veteran but nobody wants that stank bucket on a bus.
@@badbrad I hear that
