I’ll admit: When a friend tells me I have a lot of gear, I go to TH-cam and bring up any of your videos and show them who has a LOT of gear! Their jaw drops every time! :) Rock on Andrew! :)
So sick, what a killer setup! Just that mic locker alone is insane; a pair of C12's, pair of M49's, pair of U67's, pair of KM56's, pair of U87's, pair of R44's, pair of 4038's, pair of 414's and oh there's a C800 in the other room, do a quick tally on just those mics! 😎Andrew asks earlier in the video, "When did you start acquiring...this addiction?" 🤣 Thanks Andrew for the extra time on the video, it really warranted it and we all have G.A.S. after that one!
I have (12) Ashley LX-308B's! They're just simple old school solid state line mixers. Your basic traditional op-amp preamps and gain/summing stages. Nothing more nothing less. They use JRC 2043's for the preamps stages (a well-spec'd low noise op amp for preamp/gain) and they use JRC 4560's op amps for the rest. At most the signal passes through 3 op amp stages and nothing else. Some of mine I have replaced the op amps with TI/Burr Brown OPA2132PA's and improves even little more. They changed the design around 15-20 years ago but both versions are pretty much the same. They still sell them but don't buy new. You can get for $200-$300 if patient. To be fair I have also listened and reviewed and measured the Behringer RX1602 and it's actually very similar and well spec'd line mixer and has a send but likely won't last nearly as long with cheap pots and other compoenents.
Everything I want. Literally _everything_ I want. I wanted an M49 _really_ badly (ideally/eventually a pair) but my credit line and what was available at a good price led me to buy a U67 that I was - and am - very excited about. Then two days later I see the shot walking into his key room and _BAM!_ A matched pair of M49's. Ugghhhh, the heartbreak. I'm honestly totally glad for him though. Can't help but be jealous but he seems like a really genuine, down to earth and hard working person. Awesome tour!
This assortment of gear is so inspirational. As someone about to invest heavily in my first official studio space it’s incredible to see what’s possible.
This was a good one Andrew.. I mean ALL your episodes are great but Ryan really has an awesome presence about him and he's also damn funny on camera! 😂🙏
I underestimated when you said he had "All the gear". Then the camera started zooming in and i'm like WHOA. He's almost 100k in with just the console, UA hardware, fearns and pair of chandlers LOL
Bro, Hello Hurricane was such an influential album for me and my guitar tone. That whole album sounds SO GOOD. I can't believe he just slipped that in at the end.... Totally would have loved to hear more about that!!! Great tour!
Thanks man! The theme for that record was tiny combo amps. SO MANY Supra or Bronson combo amps were used. That and a lot of Les Pauls if I remember correctly. That was a very fun record. Those guys are all so nice and unbelievably talented.
@@ryanpetersen3103 man, I look forward to getting more tips and techniques on that one. To this day one of my favorite albums sonically. And YES, the SUPROS! There was a documentary where Drew discussed his guitar tone and it instantly made me want one of those awesome little combos. Great stuff!
this explains why nashville guys come to memphis and want to know where all our gear is. yall got it all stockpiled! i think there's 3 u47's in all of memphis.
Another amazing studio! Would be a great to have a selected discography (with links) for each guest featured on your videos. Now I've seen the gear, I want to hear the mixes!
Latency in monitoring through DAW isn't an issue with Presonus Quantum 48. No DSP built in so the latency is half of that of the Lynx. Computers are fast enough now, they need to make more interfaces that don't have onboard dsp.
Very inspiring set up , and super bananas is a new level 😂between the 2 of you I think you said Super 48 times , it’s a lot of super lads … just kidding all good fun ..
Hey Hey < Amazing Video great Vibe ! Just wondering when you guys are talking about the Vintage Piano and M49 Mics 37:02 are you using your Sennheiser MKH 416 Shotgun Condenser to record this ? It sounds Awesome! Cheers !
hey @ryanpetersen3103 what is the clicker remote on/off TB thing. Is it an on/off clicker for a little mic, or a switch that turns the (API) talkback function on/off?
6:20 I just Noticed he is Wearing the Broken Rolex I Gifted him for his Birthday ;) Please... If He hasn't figured out by now it was broken when it was given to me by a big shot Producer.. Its a Right of passage.
Out of all that unbelievable gear, most of which I can’t afford, hahaha….what I really want to know is…..the name of the wireless talkback clicker system. Haha. No really.
@@ryanpetersen3103 Haha - MERELY an observation!! 😁 Great set-up!! If you don’t use the full polyphony, I’d seriously consider swapping for a PRO 3, and having the 3 ‘6 series’ filters and 3-note polyphony/paraphony … then adding the X8 and P10 in the long-run, of course … 😉 … and the severely underrated REV 2 …
I don’t really get it either considering I have a few free or dirt cheap iPad apps that are quite good for in the box mellotron sounds (not to mention the countless plugins available). I have a buddy who runs a busy studio here who absolutey swears by his though.
Happy Monday my fellow studio dwellers. Smash that like button and subscribe for more G.A.S.

Totally bananas. Good for him. I'd literally have the same stuff if I could.
Love this guy standing around with an open coffee mug around that console and all that gear lol.... playing with fire..
Dieter Doepfer is the founding father of the Eurorack Modular Synthesizer format. His name is pronounced Dopp-Fur ❤ love this tour!
Road case racks is the way to go ✌

I yelled out loud... LOL
Great to see Shane Wilson's former studio space rejuvenated!
I knew that was Shane’s old place! I loaded that plate reverb into that basement many moons ago. Lol.
Spent a lot of time in that house mix assisting for Shane
Dope setup! You can do everything at this studio. Impressive. I love the open ceiling drum room!

Woah what an awesome space! And cmon Ryan leave some gear for the rest of us 😂😂😂

Amazing studio! Was he referring to Jason Graves’ studio tour regarding the Ashly? Fantastic space!

Looks like maybe the color grade is doubling on its self in the edit for a few seconds here and there?

Nashville Custom Case!

Who knew Captain America had G.A.S. just like the rest of us?
This is the second studio w/ one of those Mellotron's. I do not see the fascination w/ these things. Digital Mellotron... ?? Why??
I don’t really get it either considering I have a few free or dirt cheap iPad apps that are quite good for in the box mellotron sounds (not to mention the countless plugins available). I have a buddy who runs a busy studio here who absolutey swears by his though.
did you skip a room? no herd of guitars / amps?!
"MOW-g." Sorry.
