Hey Mike! I wanna give you a huge tip on the clutch to make the kart lest cluttered and easier to drive. Put a brake lever on the shifter arm and run the clutch cable to that. That way your only thinking about your shifting arm and can keep your feet planted on the footpads! Awesome build otherwise bro! I wouldn't have don't anything different besides that
Hey Bubba I'm not like a professional designer or Builder but I want you to step back and take a look at the car and look from your steering point to back behind by the seat. You need some kind of reinforcement between the steering column and the seat running between the steering bar of course and your seat mounts because you will get downward and upward Flex and you will get twisting of the cart because of all the torque on that little Kart frame. You could even go as far as to welding studs Under the Seat bracket on the downside and weld studs near the steering column and then you can make two pieces of pipe flattening the ends and drilling holes putting them on after you get the motor back in it you can just put a washer in a lock nut and basically give yourself rigidity structurally on both sides of the motor at the top end of the frame so you don't get bending and twisting. But you can undo the lock washers add nuts when you have to remove the motor for servicing. Also that top rail mount would work good for a turbo Mount being that your exhaust manifold is right there at the top of the motor you can probably incorporate some type of tubing to the front of the frame of the cart and even take a small radiator of some type to make you an intercooler put a set of small computer fans on it. But yeah man that's what I would do I would definitely take two bolts and weld one underneath each side of the frame mount for the seat and put one on either side of the bar at the front near the steering column and make you two structural bars that go across the top that can be REMOVED for servicing. All in all this is a sweet little bill I wish I could build something like this
Dude the adhd, the absolute joy in jumping into the unknown. We are twins! I'm building a tiny imported reverse trike and turboing as well check my build out! Cheers
Hey Mike, nice build, just one thing about your pipe bending, to have a nicer finish without the kinks in the pipe, fill and cap the pipe with sand first, it won't compress the pipe and your left with smooth nice finished bends! Hope that helps, 😊
That thing is friggin cool! You gotta get you hands on a KX80 2stroke engine or a CR125 Honda 2Stroke engine & install one of them & then you’ll really be loving that little kart……✌🏻🔥🏁
For everyone watching, gas & clutch pedals I made home made ones on my first build which were good but time consuming, next build iv used cable brake levers from a bmx and welded abit of handlebar to the frame to mount! Super simple 😁
If you don't have a proper pipe bender, what you can do is stuff the pipe full of sand and close the ends with a weld or wood or whatever. That will make the bends look a lot better, specially if you heat it up a bit. After you're done, just let the sand drain out.
You will also need to mount the foot platforms ABOVE the bottom frame rail - or at the very least even with it. Below as it is now will cause dragging constantly.
Can't wait to see how this goes. Personally I would be going there opposite in most regards. Maintain the rear swingarm and suspension. And put all the weight forward. You gotta think front weight rear spin and slide rear weight means it'll hook like nothing else. You did say drift cart not wheelie cart. I gotta be concerned that this will flip easily and often. We'll see, prove me wrong. Regardless it looks fun as hell!
Before you put your plate in across the bottom of the frame under the motor think about oil changes. You know so that way you don't have to pull your motor to get the oil out of it
I wonder if it would be possible to adjust the steering ratio so you have more control in drift. It seems a bit touchy, might help quite a lot tho. Thank you for the long video Mike! Love this cart so much
If you don’t have a bender and want a nicer looking pipe you can fill the pipe with sand cap the end best if you weld something on the ends then bend it make sure it’s full the the brim
you should change the seating position, that will destroy your back if u hit something hard or a bumb in the road, and if you have time add a handbrake as back brake and a own frot break for stops
Oh jeez thanks dude idk why u all are hating it's really a working update that can really be done you just have to have a very specific ps3 and it's only the models that slide open but certain one hell I'll even give to secret it was the first 15000 units that were scattered through us states only so if your sn has 15k or below yoy can do this really but there is another thibg he isnt showing tho
bro put kinked tube in place when you can just weld multiple straight pieces together to accomplish the curve? Imagine pie-cuts on an exhaust... but just 3 or 4 'pie cuts' to make a choppy curve. IDK if that makes sense but you dont have to bend pipe to accomplish this task, just use multiple angles to make the shape
Now for a drift Mobility scooter? I have a 6.5hp stationary engine that is worked to 16hp on my go-kart that I crashed and messed up the font end. I'm really tempted to put the engine on a tiny little kids Minibike... but that just wouldn't be safe. I would have to extend the rear end, put some longer risers on the handlebars, and upgrade the rear brakes as well as fit front brakes.
there quite a few things i wouldve done differently first of all fill the pipe with sand or with water and freese them solid before bending them , they whont kink when you do that , is harder to bend though i wouldve mounted the rear bearings upside down so the bars wouldve gone under the axle , this wouldve given you an (allmost?) straight shot intoo the bottom part of the frame and wouldve done away with at least on bend , wouldve meant changing the bracket for the diskbrake caliper around a little as that hangs under the frame too (likely cut the bracket loos and mount it vertical in the front of the disk wouldve made the part strengthening the steering part and bottom piece out of one bar mak ing a 45 degree bend and weld it at the top and in the bend at the bottom using a plate likely only need a crossbrace under the seat as long as the chain can pass through the plate holding the engine in should prevent the bottom tubes from moving
Hey I’ve been watching this series for a while and I’m building something similar, I’m also starting with the quad bike frame but I want to build it for speed and aesthetics rather than drift I was wondering where I can get tiny turbos like the kind on your old 50cc engine. I understand that you were gifted it from a friend (as you said in an older video), but are these commercially available anywhere? I haven’t seen them yet. Would I have to design one myself and get it cnc milled?
turbo and 2 stroke dont go well together :) the exhaust and intake are open at the same time so a turbo wouldnt do much for actually getting more in the engine cuz you cant hold the boost pressure
If you really want to get some power out of a 2-stroke adding boost will do pretty much nothing since it doesn't have valves and the exhaust will always be open too while the intake is open. Instead you could add a proper expansion chamber to help with scavenging, there are plenty of tutorials online on how to do this and with a properly designed one you can gain between 10% and 40% more power.
@@itsmikelake Then maybe the exhaust restriction from the turbine was enough to build some boost pressure. I personally didn't have so much luck with turbocharging 2 strokes. If you really want to build more boost you could maybe add rotary valves or similar to the exhaust, although that would be a lot of work. Anyways, It's really cool to see some actual Turbo 2-strokes working. Good luck with the project
Sup bro i think you should make a car like body for the go kart give a supra skyline any car body sorry if bothered you annoyed you bye have a nice day
We're doing a 125cc TURBO swap! th-cam.com/video/BkHVaRDEAlY/w-d-xo.html
I've ordered the TURBO kit for this kart! Until then, grab yourself a cup of coffee & enjoy the complete 125cc build start to finish ❤
Was about to say that in caps lock with my keyboard so glad your turbo'ing this lil monster of a unit 🤙🤙

Sorry to see this, Glad you’re okay and you can always rebuild. Loved watching the progress

This is awesome. Definitely inspired to get tinkering
Been waiting for this man love to see it, keep it up i think everyone has been enjoying this series!!

Battery needs a bar to protect it
Been loving the series man can’t wait for the future episodes.😁
i run the same welder, my uncle who is a certified boiler maker recommended it to me to start out ages ago and I'm still using it, mint little unit.
Could you make the frame longer? I think it would be more comfortable to drive
i love the mad max vibe of the drift cart next you should try putting a supercharger on it
If you don't have a proper pipe bender, what you can do is stuff the pipe full of sand and close the ends with a weld or wood or whatever. That will make the bends look a lot better, specially if you heat it up a bit. After you're done, just let the sand drain out.
Perfect video to watch on a night of not being able to sleep
Glad I could entertain you during your insomnia 🥰

That thing is sick you should put push bike handle bars with a thumb eccelerator from a quad bike
Boom tubes on the drift quad
Well done on the entire job - Smiles for miles. Set yourself a task and crushed it!!! Well farking done!!!
Enjoying your videos! Mikemas got me hooked! I have a little build coming up with my sachs rotary. Just have to finish my oil drum mini ute first!
Thank you bro! I need to do a Sachs rotary!
Before you put your plate in across the bottom of the frame under the motor think about oil changes. You know so that way you don't have to pull your motor to get the oil out of it
That’s ke70 in the background is sick
I wonder if it would be possible to adjust the steering ratio so you have more control in drift. It seems a bit touchy, might help quite a lot tho. Thank you for the long video Mike! Love this cart so much
We can definitely mod the steering to make it easier to drift. I'll fiddle around with it a bit in a future vid :)
ive been waiting for this moment to come yes i love engines tbh
put a triangle gusset on the outside of your bent pipe on each side
Put wheelie bars on it. With a set of roller blade wheels on them. Before you bust the seat back rest.
honestly I'd put a wheeliebar on it... Watching the testrun was nailbitingly fun! :D
Great work and great video! -Don't end yourselves! :D
Haha absolutely agree, wheelie bar incoming!
If you don’t have a bender and want a nicer looking pipe you can fill the pipe with sand cap the end best if you weld something on the ends then bend it make sure it’s full the the brim
Yeah, dude, that's sick. Work smarter, not harder. 🎉 😊 🎉
you should change the seating position, that will destroy your back if u hit something hard or a bumb in the road, and if you have time add a handbrake as back brake and a own frot break for stops
Wheelie bar!!!!
Fill the tubes with sand tape the ends and they won't kink when you bend it with out the correct die size
Once that motor blows put a cr85 in it cmonnn, 2stroke gang😂💪
Where did you get the motor from
Okay if you have to go over a speed bump you're going to be high sided but the profile look sweet
hey mate love this build im currently building one what did you do for brakes ? did you just have hydro rear or both ?
Oh jeez thanks dude idk why u all are hating it's really a working update that can really be done you just have to have a very specific ps3 and it's only the models that slide open but certain one hell I'll even give to secret it was the first 15000 units that were scattered through us states only so if your sn has 15k or below yoy can do this really but there is another thibg he isnt showing tho

you could cover the x braces with expanded metal still see the x braces but will make it much stronger
Put some wheelie bars on that thing... ride till the wheels come down.
Now you need to cut them bars off on the front and order some mini coilovers for the front
its like a honda grom in a cart
that thing looks like so much fun
The smiles per dollar are well high!

Why didn't you use solid round bar for the base so that the waight is low in the frame
Welding over paint? No metal prep before welding? Even made emt conduit pipe look at strong and sturdy. That welding machine is worth every penny!!!
there quite a few things i wouldve done differently
first of all fill the pipe with sand or with water and freese them solid before bending them , they whont kink when you do that , is harder to bend though
i wouldve mounted the rear bearings upside down so the bars wouldve gone under the axle , this wouldve given you an (allmost?) straight shot intoo the bottom part of the frame and wouldve done away with at least on bend , wouldve meant changing the bracket for the diskbrake caliper around a little as that hangs under the frame too (likely cut the bracket loos and mount it vertical in the front of the disk
wouldve made the part strengthening the steering part and bottom piece out of one bar mak ing a 45 degree bend and weld it at the top and in the bend at the bottom using a plate
likely only need a crossbrace under the seat as long as the chain can pass through the plate holding the engine in should prevent the bottom tubes from moving
Maybe you should make a video
this serires was so fun to watch!
More coming soon! 😁
Hi Mike.. hey the kart rims you got do you have any info on the sizes and if they were front or rear rims. Thanks mate…
Hey I’ve been watching this series for a while and I’m building something similar, I’m also starting with the quad bike frame but I want to build it for speed and aesthetics rather than drift

au.maxpeedingrods.com/product/high-performance-rhb31-vz21-mini-turbo-small-engine-quads-rhino-motorcycle-turbocharger.html :)
Cheers, that’s a little out of my budget though :/
I love the skyline btw
you should put 2 skate board tiny wheels on the back so when you do wheles don't go up
Wheelie bar install?!
You can buy a link extractor very cheapl and it works much more efficiently. There is no😢 risk of damage or hoop loss. ❤
Should add weights to front end
turbo and 2 stroke dont go well together :) the exhaust and intake are open at the same time so a turbo wouldnt do much for actually getting more in the engine cuz you cant hold the boost pressure
You just created a major failure point in the frame with those kinks in the tubing. Bracing it ain't gonna do jack.
Nah, she holds together great! We’ve thrashed the heck out of it and no problems at all 👊🏻
@@itsmikelake over time that spot will probably develop a crack.
Check on the jetting or at least adjust air screw because thoses backfire are sign that it's running lean and that's no good!
how about using a pipebender so you dont have those kinks init makes it more strong aswell
hey man, would you have the link for the motor you’ve got there?
Due to the fact it was pink it sounds like a bubble mower I would name it the bubble gum mower
You should have lengthend the frame by 6 inches.
Need to take some skateboard wheels and make a wheelie bar
Wheelie bar video coming real soon 😁👀
Just thought it might help with taking off quicker Shout me out in your next video
The Ship Of Theseus Kart lol
You should have added a finger lever throttle to the steering wheel.
It needs stretched about 3ft and it would be way more fun way more controllable
If you really want to get some power out of a 2-stroke adding boost will do pretty much nothing since it doesn't have valves and the exhaust will always be open too while the intake is open.

Where did you get the frame from
leftover wires probably lights
The durability and stability of kinked tubing. 😂😂😂
Still works mint 🤷🏻♂️ don’t hate the player haha
I did work.. I’ll give ya that one..
Arh good old kart such a good build
Just wait till we take it to the next level 😈
Why not straighten up that front steering so that the front tires are straight?
You should have put the shift on the steering wheel and put a hand brake on it?
Where did you buy the motor
Put the turbo back on
Where do I buy the engine kit from
Bro definitely keep the frame exposed double x life
If you leave it open it will be able to run coller
broo you earn my subscribe
Thank you bro 👊🏻
Don't ever run a small moter with out an exoust. You will burn a valve.
My latest vid is here! th-cam.com/video/xczKaq6ziZA/w-d-xo.html 😁
Lol mine is probably much lighter with 212cc😂😅
Wicked
Why not a 3 speed centrifugal with reverse motor heaps more fun for drifting
I just really like being able to shift through gears 😁
My go kart motor is the same brand
They go harrrdddd 👀
Is that a Datsun 240/260z 🤤
280 😛. Dropping a new video on it tomorrow!
using kinked pipes for frames gotta be a new thing
Nah nah it’s been around for ages 🤣
fill the tube with sand next time before ghetto bending and it wont kink
From 830 subs to 71k
i have the same engine on my atv
Im from indonesia we use that engine on motorcyle so please put turbo on that engine so maybe i will make my motorsicle use turbo😂
Sup bro i think you should make a car like body for the go kart give a supra skyline any car body sorry if bothered you annoyed you bye have a nice day
imagine putting on a lonicin 250cc lmao :D
Me:dude ur wife just filed for divorce
Him: nothing a little wire brush cant fix
🤣 hahahaha
Yeewww! 😎✌️
😁👊🏻
How much you want for it
Alas, she is not for sale 😝
MOTOR= electric ENGINE combustion!!
Actually... A combustion engine can be called a motor, but an electric motor,
CANNOT be an ENGINE.
After about 25 minutes, my tows are sufficiently curled.
How is it possible
Hard work and determination 😛
You Might Want To Add A Heat Shield Of Some Sort, might scorch your nuts or legs in the engine
You’re not wrong about this 😅🤣
Sheet metal would look better, but you are running an air cooled engine. Leave it exposed...
