So it appears that from 58:00-59:43 you needed to vent some frustration against Creationism and Christianity by relating the tale of the Ica Stones into your beautifully woven web of PokéLore, and portraying the Creationists specifically as the villains of that account. While you are entitled to your own opinions and worldview, and it is true that it looks bad for Christian scientists in the '60s and '70s to have fallen for such an obvious tourist trap scam, it is not fair to claim that Young Earth Creationism "ruined" dinosaurs for everyone by suggesting that they existed at the same time as humans 6000 years ago. Science is all about discovery and having differing theories compete with each other for veracity and relevance! Basically, I just take offense at you portraying Christianity as unfun clueless losers who can't get with the times just because of one time when we made a big error in judgement. Kiwi here, gotta day I like lockstins thinking about the New Zealand stuff (and his attempts at trying to say Maori names) but some of the points got me thinking about something. Lockstin: I'm already linking to way to many videos! Me: Well, that just makes this the ultimate Lockstin video, the culmination of everything you've done thus far (at least Paldea wise)

Quick addition to the whole Portugal being the only nation to have contact with Japan until Britain and the US forced Japan to open up. The Netherlands also had some diplomatic and trade relations with Japan since 1609 and ended in 1858 when Japan concluded the Treaty of Kanagawa with the US. This is a bit of a loose thread connected to Japanese trade history but there might be some fun connection to be made with it. I loved the video either way. Learnt a lot about South American history :D
@@nazeersadek6705 honestly, there is a map in on of the Blueberry Academy classrooms that looks suspiciously close to a province from the Netherlands, Zeeland
Maybe the whole reason that the shiny terapagos looks almost identical to the normal one is for that whole idea of "There are two of these pokemon" and the only other one we will ever be meant to get is the shiny, who will coincidentally be 100% female
22:14 the eye in that picture reminded me of the Dragons from BotW/TotK (and I'm realising after getting the timestamp I made the Zelda connection because it's the same colourscheme as the eyes on Mojora's Mask) and in TotK said dragons do indeed travel between the surface world and "deeeeeeep underground"
42:47 I think people consider the legendary beasts as dogs despite their inspirations being large cats is because their designs remind people of specific dog species Entei looking like a Bulldog Suicune looking like a greyhound Meanwhile Raikou in isolation most people would say is inspired by sabertooth tigers, but when lumped with Entei and Suicune people go “if Entei and Suicune look like dogs then Raikou must be some type of Golden Retriever or other ‘generic dog’ species” (Probably a side effect of Entei being in the third Pokemon movie, Suicune being both in the fourth Pokemon movie and box legendary of Crystal, and Raikou only ever being depicted as part of the trio)
@@bluekirby_64 “The Legend of Thunder” but unfortunately it didn’t feature Ash as the main protagonist, it features Ethan, Kris, and a third new character (even if Ethan and Kris were given different names in the special) So Raikou still drew the short straw when it comes to the legendary beast’s representation (At least Raging Bolt is making a name for itself in the competitive scene)
Anyone saying Raikou is some sort of dog, even worse a Golden Retriever 💀, deserves recognition for proving that it is indeed possible for a human being to survive without a brain
The fact that the Paradox Beasts are a theropod, a sauropod, and a ceratopsian perfectly lines up with the three major clades within Dinosauria: Theropoda, Sauropodamorpha, and Ornithischia. And paleontologists are still debating which two clades are more closely related to each other than to the third clade. A correction: when showing the Styracosaurus and Diabloceratops at 45:02, you put the names on the wrong pictures.
@@dynojackal1911 Yes, a few studies from some years ago did (I believe it was over 5 years ago that I heard anything about it and some papers debuked it in favor of the classical interpretation). But so far it hasn't make a huge dent, I believe the old view of saurischia and ornithischia is still the standart, albeit in a much weaker position than it used to. If you have more up to date information it would be cool to see it, ornitoscelida is an interesting topic.
24:36 I feel like there was an editing mistake here. The way Lockstin describes the card it sounds like he is describing Rainbow Dragon and the Crystal Beasts, but the card show in Kachi Kochi Dragon, which may or may not have the same inspiration, but I do not think it has the rainbow theme Lockstin's led into. I still got what card he might of meant, as a huge Yugioh fan, I just wanted to make others aware of Rainbow Dragon incase they didn't know and was confused why Kachi Kochi Dragon doesn't have anything to do with rainbows.
40:30 I'd like to add to that connection between Polynesia and South America. There is a story of an Inca who is said to have travelled to (at least) Mangareva and Eastern Island. According to some Spanish cronistas, Tupac Yupanqui went on a 2-3 year expedition to the Pacific Ocean and came back with slaves, fur from exotic animals and strange tools. There's also some evidence on those two islands that support this theory. There's the legend of "King Tupa" in Mangareva, who arrived from the middle of the sea and introduced metals to the island, and in Eastern Island there're mentions of a "Mahuna-te Ra'á" (Son of the Sun). Lastly, the Ahu Vinapu on Eastern Island is a stone structure built very similarly to the stone walls on Sacsayhuaman, Cusco. Most likely there were other people from the Incan empire who travelled to those islands, but there's only a record of the expedition of Tupac Yupanqui because he was a very important person.
I dig the idea that Terapagos is the 5th element to round out the Ruinous Quartet. It is a treasure/treasured and obsession over it and its powers brought ruin or near ruin to characters in the game - Sada, Turo and almost Kieran
37:26 I'm pretty sure that the hourglass shaped engraving on the unscratchable metal plate depicts the crater of Area 0 (the top, larger triangle), the depths (the cross section) and the underdepths (smaller bottom triangle). Pretty insane since its always been right there in our faces even before we knew about the underdepths
just wanted to add that maori myth mentions papatuanuku which is kind of like a mother earth figure just something i found as a smilarity to pacha mama.
Mildly spicy addition to all this: Turtle Dragon (& the big hungy tortoise, Terrasque) is in D'n'D. I wouldn't be surprised if someone at Gamefreak was a D'n'D DM using Pokémon Legendaries as Boss units. They did make mystery dungeon after all. Which I bought recently & I'm going to go absolutely ham playing it later today. Yeyyyyyyy!!
About a quarter of the way through, and this is already reminding me of the Necrozma & Kyurem theory videos made during Lockstin's "It all comes together" era. Loving it so far.
It's kinda funny watching this whole video and being like "So basically Paldea is just central and south America just transplanted over the ocean" with how much everything from the starters to like half of the mons to the paradox pokemon and the legendaries all tie back to the indigenous cultures. Hell the fact that MTG thought enough to include dinosaurs (past paradox) and golems (future paradox) in the native's designs shows how on track that line of thinking is. Makes you wonder how much is left for a potential south American region when so much already went into Paldea.
I haven't even finished the video and yet I now realized why the pokemon co. seems to try to create a new era. (signified by Ash no longer the anime main character.) The fact that Scarlet Violet has so many connection that can be connected to past games even.
29:08 welp thats all need to aee, thanks for the epic theory and proving things coming true once again :DDD ok but in seriousness, this is the most well thought out and curious connective theories I've ever seen and i hope you get many views for it, i can only imagine how muxh time this took to think, research, organize into a presentable manner, and then muster up the courage and energy to talk for so long. Stay awesome Lockstin and thanks for always tinkering with your Gnoggin!
ok, so the inca had god who existed kinda in pairs to fufill the nature of duality, and terapagos takes inspiration from them, and there might be two terapagos, one male, and one female to also fufill duality, and terapagos is the fifth treasure of ruin, then maybe it was sealed for the actions of its counterpart. While both are perhaps capable of the same things, the other used its power for more disaterous things at some point, which is why it was sealed/is a treasure of ruin while our terapagos may not be "evil", people still saw a terapagos and treated it as they did the other treasures of ruin.
This was a really cool deepdive into history and lore. I always love these lore videos, learning, not just about pokemon, but real world myths and history.
39:36 As a New Zealander, can I help with the pronunciation? My sister's been helping me touch up on Māori, or Te Reo as I've learned it should be called. Lockstin's pretty good with Pacific Island words, like in the Alolan fossil video, and he nailed Manawatū (where my mum lives, hi mum!), but in Te Reo 'wh' is said like a f, so Whanganui is a bit like 'FUNG-ah-noo-ee'. Dude basically had it! He got Aotearoa pretty close too, just the first syllable's more like you stubbed your toe. 'OW!-tay-ah-RO-ah'. Info you didn't ask for are wiser for knowing (: Edit: Forgot to add, 'Māori' is usually a hard word to get right, I'm New Zealandic and still struggle a bit, but once again Lockstin said it pretty damn well! Even slightly rolling the r. The macron on the a just means you say the 'ah' sound a bit longer before moving on the the o, similar to if it was written 'Maaori'. But yeah, love it when Lockstin references this side of the Pacific!

I'm glad scarlet and violet actually has lore. Sword and shield lore was giant evil space dragon is destroying the region. two hero dogs stopped him. now it's your turn to do the same and that's it
Okay, this might be a lot based off a one off comment, but you mentioning how the paradox swords are golems could explain how all the future paradox Pokémon work. In the future, Pokémon are fully extinct, completely, except ghost type Pokémon- they can’t die they’re already dead- so would it be so far fetched that the future paradox Pokémon are the few that survive in ghosts that now possess these man made machines that they accepted because it’s was the closest thing they could find to their old bodies
Either that or China. Or maybe China will be DLC. Or South America will be DLC. Really, the DLC this Gen kinda makes future region speculation more chaotic since we are apparently guaranteed at least two more random places to visit somewhere...

Me: Well, that just makes this the ultimate Lockstin video, the culmination of everything you've done thus far (at least Paldea wise)
I like how Lockstin keeps pulling up new things to point with. Always keep them guessing
man lockestin really took his time to make/release this and I couldn't be happier :D
I am from new zealand, and i died inside whenever he pronounced any names
otherwise, one of my favorite youtubers delivers an absolutely amazing video, i dont care that its so long :)
Watch the Netherlands be the basis of gen 10 or 11
@@nazeersadek6705 honestly, there is a map in on of the Blueberry Academy classrooms that looks suspiciously close to a province from the Netherlands, Zeeland
45:09 the names are mixed up the top creature is a Diabloceratops and the bottom is a Styracosaurus.
8:35... you put a pin not only on a terrapin. But similar to how a pin would be put on map...or on a world turtle. A world...Earth...terra... terrapin
Gen 9 was so delicious when it comes to the lore and mysteries it presented that continues to confuse people lol
So much lore you may chocke.
Maybe the whole reason that the shiny terapagos looks almost identical to the normal one is for that whole idea of "There are two of these pokemon" and the only other one we will ever be meant to get is the shiny, who will coincidentally be 100% female
I just realized this video is as long as a very short movie..... Does Lockstin ever sleep?
Yes,but He makes vids in His sleep too
22:14 the eye in that picture reminded me of the Dragons from BotW/TotK (and I'm realising after getting the timestamp I made the Zelda connection because it's the same colourscheme as the eyes on Mojora's Mask) and in TotK said dragons do indeed travel between the surface world and "deeeeeeep underground"

I think people consider the legendary beasts as dogs despite their inspirations being large cats is because their designs remind people of specific dog species
Entei looking like a Bulldog
Suicune looking like a greyhound
Meanwhile Raikou in isolation most people would say is inspired by sabertooth tigers, but when lumped with Entei and Suicune people go “if Entei and Suicune look like dogs then Raikou must be some type of Golden Retriever or other ‘generic dog’ species”
(Probably a side effect of Entei being in the third Pokemon movie, Suicune being both in the fourth Pokemon movie and box legendary of Crystal, and Raikou only ever being depicted as part of the trio)
Didn't Raikou get its own special episodes in the Johto anime?
@@bluekirby_64
“The Legend of Thunder” but unfortunately it didn’t feature Ash as the main protagonist, it features Ethan, Kris, and a third new character (even if Ethan and Kris were given different names in the special)
So Raikou still drew the short straw when it comes to the legendary beast’s representation
(At least Raging Bolt is making a name for itself in the competitive scene)
Anyone saying Raikou is some sort of dog, even worse a Golden Retriever 💀, deserves recognition for proving that it is indeed possible for a human being to survive without a brain
Apperantly they are meant to be a Lion, Tiger, and Leopard. I believe the "dog" portion comes from a pokedex entry about Entei barking
@@brinacodding2573 indeed
Note that the 2 new evolutions are for dragon Pokemon not from their own region...
And Unova has the energy of the original dragons...
By the way what does diablo means in English fam??
So far, Sauropodomorpha is a sister clade to Theropoda, so Ornithischia is further away from those other two
@@gsprojects8474 Some studies place Theropoda and Ornithischia as sister clades, while others do so with Sauropodamorpha and Ornithischia.
Lockstin and his hidden ability of making hour-long videos feel like the standard 10 min ones. Im down for more ! 🙌🏽✨️
Everybody Gangsta untill Lockstin pulls out the conspiracy board
Lol yea
"Can we talk about the Terapagos!? I've been dying to talk about the Terapagos!"
I always enjoy listening to you ramble about Pokemon and their real world connections! Boy, this was a big one!
An hour long vidoe by Lockstin? What a perfect video for my Friday evening.
I dig the idea that Terapagos is the 5th element to round out the Ruinous Quartet. It is a treasure/treasured and obsession over it and its powers brought ruin or near ruin to characters in the game - Sada, Turo and almost Kieran
I’m just realizing: the _world_ tortoise has a _star_ motif. There’s gotta be some sort of thing going on there.
Please explain with context
The Pokémon most strongly linked with the Stellar Type?
@@Enteringdullsville oh yeah, latin for star and the numerous references to cosmology in the video
Terapagos and Necrozma are both crystals, so-
Also why the antagonist team is Team Star
37:26 I'm pretty sure that the hourglass shaped engraving on the unscratchable metal plate depicts the crater of Area 0 (the top, larger triangle), the depths (the cross section) and the underdepths (smaller bottom triangle). Pretty insane since its always been right there in our faces even before we knew about the underdepths

"You can fly!?"
"No! Jump good"
just wanted to add that maori myth mentions papatuanuku which is kind of like a mother earth figure just something i found as a smilarity to pacha mama.
Can't wait for your Ogerpon breakdown
Mildly spicy addition to all this: Turtle Dragon (& the big hungy tortoise, Terrasque) is in D'n'D. I wouldn't be surprised if someone at Gamefreak was a D'n'D DM using Pokémon Legendaries as Boss units. They did make mystery dungeon after all. Which I bought recently & I'm going to go absolutely ham playing it later today. Yeyyyyyyy!!
7:28 the ultimate pokemon SV conspiracy otherwise known as "lokstin hurting his fingies for an hour"
1:20 Hydrapple is incredibly deep in its inspiration and it makes me love it even more
It feels like I attended a real Pokemon professor's lecture.
Man, this brings me back. I've missed this sort of mega-theory since the "it all comes together" days.
Its crazy how much history i have learned on this channel more then a history class
I haven't even finished the video and yet I now realized why the pokemon co. seems to try to create a new era. (signified by Ash no longer the anime main character.) The fact that Scarlet Violet has so many connection that can be connected to past games even.
The Dutch were also allowed to trade with Japan.
I never noticed that Dodongzo's head fins are supposed to look like a japanese chef headband.
47:52 "spit on that thang"
People already have the theory of Australia being gen 10, New Zealand could easily be a DLC!
Why do people think Australia is next? I've not seen people saying that.
@morgancrabtree6248 based on some art in the art room, but it was a theory production video which those seem to rarely be correct this far out
That would be cool
What about the theory when they thought Professor Laventon was form India
They wanted Poke India
it’s with that,índia or brazil if you want backstory i would gladly give you some
An hour long lockstin video!!! This is my dream!!!!!
Ah... Now this brings back memories of good times lol
What if the fact that Terapagos has a 50/50 split on gender but we can only catch a male is a reference to Lonesome George.
46:25 First emperor. Real person. Extremely mythologized. Worshiped as a god. That sounds an awful lot like Romulus.
The Roman guy?!?
@@AgnesBooth-zu7tw Yep.
The amount of research and dedication there takes me back to the Azoth Saga
ok, so the inca had god who existed kinda in pairs to fufill the nature of duality, and terapagos takes inspiration from them, and there might be two terapagos, one male, and one female to also fufill duality, and terapagos is the fifth treasure of ruin, then maybe it was sealed for the actions of its counterpart.
Info you didn't ask for are wiser for knowing (:
Edit: Forgot to add, 'Māori' is usually a hard word to get right, I'm New Zealandic and still struggle a bit, but once again Lockstin said it pretty damn well! Even slightly rolling the r. The macron on the a just means you say the 'ah' sound a bit longer before moving on the the o, similar to if it was written 'Maaori'. But yeah, love it when Lockstin references this side of the Pacific!
What do yuo think of Mayan lenguaje and nahuatl?
@@AgnesBooth-zu7tw Lockstin or me? He's referenced languages of the Americas a few times in videos I think, I even learnt some basic pronunciation from him in them

Despite not having finished the dlc yet, I just love listening to you ramble on about how neat a Pokémon is
I'm glad scarlet and violet actually has lore. Sword and shield lore was giant evil space dragon is destroying the region. two hero dogs stopped him. now it's your turn to do the same and that's it
I love these videos where he just goes off like a madman. It's fun learning all these new things and watching the chaos unfold
11:56 Spain: You can have the east, I'll take the west, think I'll beat you to an economic victory?
Portugal: Nah I'd win.
Okay, this might be a lot based off a one off comment, but you mentioning how the paradox swords are golems could explain how all the future paradox Pokémon work. In the future, Pokémon are fully extinct, completely, except ghost type Pokémon- they can’t die they’re already dead- so would it be so far fetched that the future paradox Pokémon are the few that survive in ghosts that now possess these man made machines that they accepted because it’s was the closest thing they could find to their old bodies
so a south amarica game in gen 10? for reel
Either that or China.
Or maybe China will be DLC. Or South America will be DLC.
Really, the DLC this Gen kinda makes future region speculation more chaotic since we are apparently guaranteed at least two more random places to visit somewhere...
