Hence the “negative” aspect of your idea It could also open up opportunities for redesigning ghost Pokémon with tragic backstories, like Phantump or Banette
I think an interesting way to have made Blissey work with that high defense would be something like iron barbs, but it turns the actual damage calculation for the recoil against the opponent.
8:58 maybe making more unique specific variants of Pokémon like Bloodmoon Ursaluna? could make an Absol who helped a village prepare for a disaster and as a reward for saving them, the villagers started treating the Absol like royalty or a god
A video idea that would give Absol a better life actually pairs with a personal theory I've had for a while. The theory is that humans and pokemon impact each other's types, which is why objectively good and helpful pokemon like Absol are Dark type, and certain trainers that use a specific type almost exclusively are physically or mentally strange, like the Fairy Girls in X and Y having those strange eyes. So, if a species lived in an area where public opinion of them was flipped, their type would change. If Absol lived in an area where it's disaster sensing powers were appreciated and respected, it might become a fairy type. If Raltz grew up in an area where people were closed off emotionally, it might lose its fairy typing before becoming Gallade.
You could do this by swapping: HP with Speed (higher HP tend to be slower and vice versa) Attack with Special Defense (physically offence to metaphysical defense) Defense with Special Attack (physically defense with metaphysical offense)
8:54 drawing Pokémon the way the fans see them. For example a lot of people like absol so it would have a more heroic design because we all know that it is warning us of danger not causing it. Another example would be like a happy mimikyu that doesn’t feel the need to hide because all fans love it. Or even something like drawing bidoof more like a mascot because that is what the fanbase kind of views it as.
this is a really cool concept especially seeing so many ways to take the pokemon with the inverse stats outside of a role reversal. one funny concept would be emolga who instead to be a quick but kinda of weak and frail it would be big and chunky who uses his wings to fall with style and divebomb into enemies.
What about doing a Pokémon design challenge where some older pokemon where bred to be service animals instead of for battle? Like absol that was bred and trained to assist people who have seizures since it can sense it coming. Or a Luxury that is a guide cat for blind people. A wheelchair Rotom. What ever you can come up with.
Another way to do the stats inverting would be to use where the Pokémon ranks for that stat and then do the inverse, for example highest hp would become lowest but 132nd highest would then become 132nd lowest and so on. That would allow you to do more high stat pokemon without their stats hitting same minimum number every time.
Fun fact: Gardevoir's japanese name is サーナイト (saanaito) and when pronounced it sounds like Sir Night/ Sir Knight, what I'm trying to say is that the inversed stats version makes total sense design wise
you should make a evo or regional form of absol that takes on castforms ability, showcasing that it now adapts to the disasters it would normally warn people of, and uses it's new typing that watches the weather to control or redirect hurricanes, tsunamis, tornados, and other weather related disasters
Ok, had to stop after blissey to get an idea of what you were doing for stats. Here's my ideas before seeing yours: Greedent: So quick, specially offensive, and somewhat low bulk. Psychic is obvious because of the special stat being high (electric is a bit annoying because you wouldn't want to throw it in with the other pika clones, and other elements that tend to be lumped into "heavily special-based" don't really fit a greedy squirrel), but at that point it doesn't sound like a "normal" squirrel. Could be a grey squirrel instead of red, and because of the whole destroying red populations thing through disease and just pushing them out with numbers, dark or poison could be thrown on. For ability, it could keep cheek pouch, but for hidden ability I'd say hustle if it's dark or merciless if it's poison. Gardevoir: subpar speed, awful special stats, and good-excellent physical stats and hp. I'd expect fairy to stay and psychic to get replaced. Still cute and loyal to a fault, but not as skinny or frail looking...or as intelligent. Honestly I'm starting to think of those battle girl trainers, so screw it: fairy/fighting. At that point, none of its normal abilities would work, so I'm thinking strong, straightforward ones like guts (maybe just rip steadfast or justified off gallade) would take their place. Absol: the poster child for mediocre stats. The drawback means that its 1 good stat (atk) gets neutered and it doesn't even get very good at anything else. Without the offense, there's no need for it to look so dangerous though, which means maybe people would actually see its warnings and not just blame it for disasters after they ignore those warnings. If that happened, I could see it being fairy type (and to add a twist to things, maybe in this form it DOES cause trouble because people believe it too much, but just little things so they forgive it). It'd definitely need an ability that makes up for the terrible stat spread, though. Maybe fluffy? Or prankster if it goes off my rambling? Pheromosa: big oof on stats there. Turning a dangerous offensive threat into a wall with no offensive pressure...that has to stay bug type. The first step is obviously throwing steel on there instead of fighting. For ability, I'm debating between iron barbs for chip damage because of its atrocious speed or if you'd still count it as a UB and throw beast boost on it (which would be atrocious since it dropped almost 150 bst). Shuckle: even with how awful those defenses are, it might still tank a hit because its hp is nutty. And it doesn't even matter, because its offenses are so oppressive and it's so fast that it might just take anything out in a 1v1 before getting hit. Given that it's the splash image for the video I know your idea, but I'd think it'd be a little...different. I had to look up what it even was, but after seeing it, I'm surprised they weren't poison/rock or grass/rock to begin with. I think poison/rock actually fits pretty well (endoliths make the stone look rotten inside, and rotten things are soft and easily damaged, so make it literally something that rots stones by touching them, then throws them at anything that annoys them. Yes I know decomposition + inorganic substances, but about half of those rocks are probably alive in this universe). Maybe they're frustrated that they can't find a home like the more defensive ones and take it out on others (making them a menace). It'd have a signature move that's a physical rock type move that can poison the target (maybe badly? Idk how to balance poison since it's kinda slow in any competitive setting). As for ability, mold breaker, no guard, oblivious, one of those abilities that go "you and me. No tricks, just a clean brawl". It wouldn't really need a buff (or much of one anyway) to take out whatever it's across from, so an ability that takes away the chance of the target having a trick to survive up their sleeve makes more sense than buffing its already insane strength.
I am shocked you did Absol but I am so glad you included my favourite Pokémon. I absolutely adore Inverse Absol and would love if that were a regional form.
I have an idea you could reverse Pokemon types since there are 18 types assign each of them their opposite type then go through with some iconic Pokémon & redesign them with the swap types This is a suggested swap chart but not all types I think I paired perfectly Ghost - normal Dragon - fairy Fire - ice Bug - flying Fighting - psychic Grass - steel Water - rock Electric - ground Poison - dark
I picture Pheromosa being completely still, quiet etc. Then they find something to fight for & in a flash, Magical Girl Transformation they unlock their full potential...

Video idea for my boy absol. Redesigning Pokémon with the opposite category, e.g. the disaster Pokémon could become the peace Pokémon or smth
You could do this by swapping:
HP with Speed (higher HP tend to be slower and vice versa)
Attack with Special Defense (physically offence to metaphysical defense)
Defense with Special Attack (physically defense with metaphysical offense)
I immediately said "shuckle with a gun" when you brought in the swapped stats, and you did NOT disappoint!
That Pheromosa is so cute, i would give a big hug and walk holding her little tiny hands.
Fun video idea make like a regenal variant of by example charcadet But then with a bow or a axe like so treugreen7 sees this
this is a really cool concept especially seeing so many ways to take the pokemon with the inverse stats outside of a role reversal. one funny concept would be emolga who instead to be a quick but kinda of weak and frail it would be big and chunky who uses his wings to fall with style and divebomb into enemies.
I was not expecting to actually like shuckle, but this design has caused me to. That is a sick design 11:36
Inverse stats would be an interesting gimmick.
YEEEEEAH FINALLY SOME ABSOL REPRESENTATION LET'S GOOO
Inverse Pokemon is such an AWESOME concept!! Love this!!
That shuckle is so rad
you should make a evo or regional form of absol that takes on castforms ability, showcasing that it now adapts to the disasters it would normally warn people of, and uses it's new typing that watches the weather to control or redirect hurricanes, tsunamis, tornados, and other weather related disasters
Ok, had to stop after blissey to get an idea of what you were doing for stats. Here's my ideas before seeing yours:
Greedent: So quick, specially offensive, and somewhat low bulk.
Love that you did more pokemons per video for this one! Should do it more often, or always😂
here's an idea for a video you spin a wheel(s) for category, type and environment then you draw what you think would work
I am shocked you did Absol but I am so glad you included my favourite Pokémon. I absolutely adore Inverse Absol and would love if that were a regional form.
Steel Gardevoir might be my new favorite design you've made!
The Shuckle is legendary! That needs to be seen by folks who would make it into a playable Pokemon in a rom.
these would be great as regional forms
I have an idea you could reverse Pokemon types since there are 18 types assign each of them their opposite type then go through with some iconic Pokémon & redesign them with the swap types
This is a suggested swap chart but not all types I think I paired perfectly
Ghost - normal
Dragon - fairy
Fire - ice
Bug - flying
Fighting - psychic
Grass - steel
Water - rock
Electric - ground
Poison - dark
I picture Pheromosa being completely still, quiet etc. Then they find something to fight for & in a flash, Magical Girl Transformation they unlock their full potential...
"It launches its juice with astonishing accuracy", well, this sounds like fun xD
