Great video man, really cool! For some reason in Eastern Europe most shops do it differently: they sandblast the disks, then put a layer of zinc primer, BUT after that the wheels cool down and are being sanded by hand with a 3M abrasive pads, because the surface has many defects and that is done to hide them. How do you put the finish right on zinc without doing that? Also, do you outgas them after stripping or after sandblasting?
Another top job and tutorial. Any chance you show us how to to do chrome base and candy top coat, I'm trying to do a bicycle frame and it's kicking my ass. I have stripped it to do it again. Did 2 light coats but came out patchy in some areas and real dark in others.
What website do I goto to buy one of them gama guns ,they look like they do a great job ,I want to buy one ,where to I order it from ,do you have a store I can go to
Do you ever struggle balancing steel wheels after you’ve power coated them? The knock on weights often scrape the fresh powder coat when you’re putting them on. Any suggestions? I’ve had it happen even when there’s only one light coat of powder on there. Doing two coats like you’ve done I’d been worried there’d be too many layers to balance the wheel without damaging it
What do we do with the hanger area? is it an area of concern or is it an area that the v-stem will hide if not large or is it an area that we can patch cover later? Thanks for another great vid Dan. What do you mean by "leave my wife out of this".....lol. Powder Coating I wish I was 20 or so years younger and seen Powder Coating for what it is. I believe this would be a business and not a hobby venture.....just saying.
Since your booth is long and narrow, have you considered building "T" racks for hanging parts? Much easier to access your parts for shooting. Search us up on IG and FB: CrossLinc Custom Coatings.
I can understand not wanting to do aluminum wheel for liability reasons but steel wheels ? There is NO WAY that little bit of heat will do anything to steel wheels and probably little to no effect to aluminum wheels either

Would it be worth it to advic e the client to lay a weld in the gap? In the long term might me worth it. It seems to always stay a weak spot for rust.
Have you done a video on large flat panels!? I continue to struggle with tiger stripes!
I think we did but maybe we will do another on just application tech.
Prismatic did a video about stripes on flat panels-basically multiple light passes L to R, Up to Down, and a fog coat all over after. Should help.
What emissivity setting do you use on that dewalt IR gun?
google it, we change based on metal

So it mean if try to powder the steel,, you have a primer,, but what kind of primer then put also in oven..
Regarding the gap you are cutting open, can you guarantee that one wont get corrosion there? :-)
the goal is to cut the bridge of powder not remove it from the metal surface

we only use adhesive weights
