hi, game dev here, if bungo’s reasoning for not explaining why he got banned is confusing here’s a simpler explanation: If they told every player the exact reason they got banned every time, then it would make it much easier for hackers to test what they can and can’t get away with by making a ton of accounts and testing their hacks on them. This is also why a lot of companies will do “ban waves” every like 3-6 months, if all the hacker’s test accounts get banned at once every 6 months, it makes it way harder to test their hacks.

@@AugorsI'll take leaving it their terms of service don't mean shit when they change them every few months to suit their needs. The TOS of today is not the TOS we had when we purchased the game before they made it free to play.
Dmg said wish wall macro is fair game. I personally asked him on twitter. Everyone saying dmg said its ok is actually referring specifically to my tweet asking dmg about it.
Players have ALWAYS tried to make their tedious / slow game play faster ..and easier. WarFrame, instead of banning and punishing players for finding ways to cut the tedious stuff down .. even movement speeds... WarFrame took the suggestion and made the speed faster.. etc..etc. Maybe not all the same.. but ya.. if it's just about making redundant boring gameplay faster... Should be an option in game .. especially for repeated missions. Streamline.
As a current Runescape player, the "buying gf" is INSANELY still popular. People will "Edate" to scam you out of gear, gp, or rares. It's fucking insane, and Jagex STILL hasn't banned anyone for it. So I can see the dilemma on Bungies side.
Main reason why I stopped playing the game. I refuse to grind for xp and artifact mods. Way too many years of doing the same thing over and over again.
I saw a screenshot of Aegis saying that he "has not played around with limiters regularly in 2 years maybe more" (I'm not sure if it's real or not). But if that's true then its ggs the ban is valid and there's literally no arguing it. His videos are great, so hopefully he didn't break TOS and it's just a mess up on Bungie's end.
Oh yeah, the ban policy… I got (100% wrongly) banned on the second week of lightfall, after grinding my ass out with my team in raids, dungeons etc for a couple of years. I paid for the deluxe lightfall expansion, had a full packed 3 characters and get banned. Missed all the prepaid lightfall seasons, lost my collection etc. As like as some of my friends. We didnt do cheats, we use macros like wish wall once. Most sad part of that is Bungie reapond with a copy paste text, no info, no nothing. I was really upset and tried return my account for a 4 months. No reasult, unfortunately. Playing new account since final shape. Lost my team, lost paid content. Pretty upsetting and now even dont want to grind for anything thinking my account can be lost as easy as early
As somebody who has farmed raids with him and went for a kings fall time with him all I can say is that I’m not surprised. Hope this gets reverted though.
Honestly we're gonna just have to wait and see what happens. I will say when bungie bans people 99% of the time they actually deserve it. Ik there was the speedrunners getting banned problem but i doubt that was intentional on bungie's end. We just gotta wait till the facts come out.
My brother got banned on the first week of Multiplex being the trials map cuz he was using Glissando with box breathing before that became the norm. He got up to a 4.57 kd with 5 or 6 flawless cards then ran into a team of dudes we played a few weeks earlier. Guess they just spam reported he was doing a recov and he got banned. Took a week to get unbanned lmao
@ they let them go due to “accessibility.” As well as it just not being traceable apparently. Which is the biggest joke I’ve ever heard. Something happened last week in class clash where my buddies and I were dropping mercies on blatant ragers rocking 6+KDs in trials but playing like absolute bots in clash. Not sure if their hacks were down for the day or what but it was hilarious.
Aegis is known for being around raid/speedrun hackers! I've met hackers that know him personally and he does it all too. He's been banned for a reason, we just don't know it yet.
Bougie could also just make a daily playlist activity with raid encounters where you select and only allows the raid encounter of that day that is from the weekly raid only with challenges and farmable loot enabled and Sunday and Monday being able to select any of the encounters
my brother got banned he woke up one day to his account banned and they wouldn’t give us a reason to why it really sucks. I wish they were more relaxed with some things let the game get a little inflated when it’s not hurting anyone. cheaters in pvp yeah they can go but there are some things that really aren’t a problem. let people have a little fun and fix the thing that are a huge problem
Aegis played with a ton of net limiters as limiting is a super prevalent thing in speedrunning and was especially prevalent before they nerfed the 7500 horseman dps, so he has every right to be banned
Aegis has great content but I'd be concerned because Bungie normally checks for bigger content creators. Unless this is an automated ban, Bungie probably has evidence.

Feel like content creators being banned in d2 is a thing that happens like once a year. Now this isnt necessarily bad, but all these (as far as we know) lesser bans happening to people while theres so many cheaters in the game is, uhh, not the best look.
5:47 There are lots of ways they could do it. Easiest in my mind in this case is location based. If in wish wall room ignore cheat flags. No enemies, nothing to really abuse so just ignore it.
The sad thing is, you get trials and pvp cheaters constantly and it's fine. But the only real person even playing still Bungie bans them. The game is old. No one likes it anymore except cross. You've got a guy trying to get people excited about PVE and they ban him. Idk it's gross.

Bungie is not completely stupid, they know banning a popular content creator is a huge pr nightmare, so there must be SOMETHING he's not telling us, or this is a huge blunder
Boy, did ending of this video take a turn.....
Honestly, just be done with the game. They ban you for macros in PVE content like it affects anybody other than you and your group. But don't do shit about Cronus,Xim and people with infinite supers and heavy in PvP
ToS bro, take it or leave it.
@@AugorsI'll take leaving it their terms of service don't mean shit when they change them every few months to suit their needs. The TOS of today is not the TOS we had when we purchased the game before they made it free to play.
If they didn't want people to use the Wish Wall macro then they shouldn't have made it take ten minutes to enter manually.
Dmg said wish wall macro is fair game. I personally asked him on twitter. Everyone saying dmg said its ok is actually referring specifically to my tweet asking dmg about it.
They should make the wish wall better tbh. its tedious and slow
They could do something like the end of Season of the Wish where you just shoot each spot once to put the correct symbol
It’ll probably be something like someone using a Macro in his fireteam and him getting a stray.
Literally just watched his “what to use for DPS” video yesterday wtf Bungo
Players have ALWAYS tried to make their tedious / slow game play faster ..and easier.
WarFrame, instead of banning and punishing players for finding ways to cut the tedious stuff down .. even movement speeds... WarFrame took the suggestion and made the speed faster.. etc..etc.
Maybe not all the same.. but ya.. if it's just about making redundant boring gameplay faster... Should be an option in game .. especially for repeated missions. Streamline.
14:33 wtf cross 😭
As a current Runescape player, the "buying gf" is INSANELY still popular. People will "Edate" to scam you out of gear, gp, or rares. It's fucking insane, and Jagex STILL hasn't banned anyone for it. So I can see the dilemma on Bungies side.
I stopped using the macro for wish wall after they announced the ban for macro afk fariming for this exact reason.
Main reason why I stopped playing the game. I refuse to grind for xp and artifact mods. Way too many years of doing the same thing over and over again.
@@rageknight2340Dude WTF this has to do with using a macro in LW. You get the thing at lv12 in like less than a week 😭
@@Tacatai8601dudes just yapping 😭
@@rageknight2340literally just do seasonal challenges and pop them with fireteam XP boost, it’s not hard
Dmg said wish wall macro is not a bannable offense
😂 this one made me laugh alot. That part where Cross admits he used to be a RuneScape GF 😂 but he got that long sword though 😅 do what you gotta do
I saw a screenshot of Aegis saying that he "has not played around with limiters regularly in 2 years maybe more" (I'm not sure if it's real or not). But if that's true then its ggs the ban is valid and there's literally no arguing it. His videos are great, so hopefully he didn't break TOS and it's just a mess up on Bungie's end.
Shiiiit he is so valuable to the community
This video really really needs to update the title to include this Runescape journey we just went on.
Bungie should start preparing their response before they ban popular players, especially the ones that people use as resources
Why?
Literally one of the most pivotal parts of the community. There’s no way this isn’t walked back, right???
@@deejayy8303 when did the first ban happen?
My brother got banned on the first week of Multiplex being the trials map cuz he was using Glissando with box breathing before that became the norm. He got up to a 4.57 kd with 5 or 6 flawless cards then ran into a team of dudes we played a few weeks earlier. Guess they just spam reported he was doing a recov and he got banned. Took a week to get unbanned lmao
Anticheat picks up a wish wall macro, but I’ve played the same rage hackers flying around in rumble for 2 weeks. Good job Bungie. You’re doing great.
Yup. And they also miss every damn ximmer
It's giving me Bakken vibes all over again. Hopefully not.
He’s a PvP player vs a guy who makes Speed run tier lists…
Aegis is known for being around raid/speedrun hackers! I've met hackers that know him personally and he does it all too. He's been banned for a reason, we just don't know it yet.
Bougie could also just make a daily playlist activity with raid encounters where you select and only allows the raid encounter of that day that is from the weekly raid only with challenges and farmable loot enabled and Sunday and Monday being able to select any of the encounters
Aegis claimed that DMG said the wish wall macro is allowed, so Aegis will most likely be unbanned
my brother got banned he woke up one day to his account banned and they wouldn’t give us a reason to why it really sucks. I wish they were more relaxed with some things let the game get a little inflated when it’s not hurting anyone. cheaters in pvp yeah they can go but there are some things that really aren’t a problem. let people have a little fun and fix the thing that are a huge problem
They just need to give us a checkpoint dropdown menu after you clear the activity.
wait this is how i find out? Bro literally was the most helpful d2 youtube.
13:00 I was wondering when Cross would finally bring up one of RuneScape's most infamous memes... "Buying gf 50gp" LMFAO
My favorite segment of these videos: Storytime with Cross 🤘
Aegis played with a ton of net limiters as limiting is a super prevalent thing in speedrunning and was especially prevalent before they nerfed the 7500 horseman dps, so he has every right to be banned
He just released a great video for LFG runs in damage, this is odd, he hasn’t done anything that a lot of us have done
Aegis has great content but I'd be concerned because Bungie normally checks for bigger content creators. Unless this is an automated ban, Bungie probably has evidence.
Bungie - "We don't want to tell people who may or may not have gotten banned for exploiting the system, how they exploited the system, because they may end up exploiting the system."
Me - "uhhhh....."
The reason games cannot share the reason they got banned: Cheaters can use this information and develop around that so it is undetectable next time
Doesn't matter. Cheat devs figure it out anyways..
@@AnonymousTok3r And telling cheaters to their face what they did wrong just makes it easier. Its a war of attrition, its important to give these cheaters as little info as humanly possible
Absolutely absurd that the most informative creator on the site is the one getting plugged for a macro of all things, i loike their harsh bans, i dont like clearly false ones
Tbh might be the overlay considering the system we know of detects third party programs running in the background
I got banned twice for having a bad internet connection. Yet I had no issue playing other online games. I stopped playing Destiny for MONTHS because I was afraid of getting a permanent ban. I agree, they need an appeal process.
I know people are defending Aegis because he's a favorite, but the macro usage is probably a reason for the ban. Like, come on. It's okay because you guys like it, but then that opens the doors to other macro usage which is problematic. It's not that simple an issue but I understand why it may've happened.
The Baken story broke my heard lmao
Weird how Devs start making anti cheat software and now big streamers are disappearing 😂😂
What we need is
To know the reason why people even get banned
i love how az just ignored being told itnwas his 2nd ban and ddnt inquire more about it
The sad thing is, you get trials and pvp cheaters constantly and it's fine. But the only real person even playing still Bungie bans them. The game is old. No one likes it anymore except cross. You've got a guy trying to get people excited about PVE and they ban him. Idk it's gross.
It’s such a shame. Aegis was only reason I got into this game again.
"Nobody likes it"
Ma boi, that wording is poorly chosen.
I see your point, but i think there is some better wording.
You sound like an idiot. Let’s wait and see what happens when the facts come out. You don’t know these people like you think you do.
I think we just wait and see. The Baken situation is a good example. Don’t let your bias get in the way and just wait.
Bungie: Only 23k players on steam?? Let's make that lower boys 😎
If he's banned I am quitting the game, bro is the only reason I beat the day 1 dungeon
He got banned over the weekend, people need to chill over bungies comms.
How has this game been out for 10 years and we don’t know what people get banned for and can’t even appeal bans. What a joke
If they told us how they got banned, cheat makers would use that information on their favor
@ fair enough never thought about that
Really? You're under arrest for breaking the law! What law did I break? We can't tell you otherwise it will help other people break the law! Really makes sense doesn't it?
@@WarBovine cheating in a videogame is different from breaking the law. If a cheatmaker knows how their cheat was detected, they can then find a way around that
Never fails, always a RuneScape reference.
Hot take I saw today:
how the game is on console should be considered base destiny. If you cant do it on console then its either an exploit or a cheat.
I need more thoughts on that
