    Your assessment of saeboflex is right. I have used both saeboflex and saeboglove. They only prevented hand from going into contracture. The orange one is called- wei ni shii. There’re three modes on it. Automatic open and closes with pneumatic pressure. But there is a mirror mode where it mirrors glove worn on unaffected hand. I have using it for about six months. I get clonus in affected fingers. I think it is working. But will take time. Bigger culprit in the way is as soon as you try to push your body to do anything, fingers clinch. In my opinion, as soon as that is resolved means my other functions are fully recovered, my fingers will extend.

    I have spasticity and able to put on the gloves with the air blower patiently one finger at the time. It is so nice to have my hand open and closed after 5 years of having it in a fist.

    i slip in cross-body activities with my hand by tossing a ball back and forth from hand to hand. start small and slow, get wider and faster as the day allows. this also helps my balance, too (vertigo).

    I've been using one of those air driven Robo gloves for about a month and a half now but it's primary use is just in helping keep my hand from becoming overly stiff. I'll use it for about 20 minutes at night to help relax my hand. I have a certain amount of grip but and rarely able to extend the hand back open without assistance and I found that after using the glove for a while it at least helps bring enough relaxation back into the hand that it will open up. I don't think it's remotely any kind of a replacement for much more direct rudimentary exercises as far as regaining hand function but if you have someone who can help you put the thing on it does feel good the way it gently expands the fingers and contracts them and I think that this has helped prevent further spasticity in my fingers. like everything it's just another tool though but the price point wasn't too bad and for what I paid I feel like I've gotten my money's worth

      This is an excellent way to use the glove! I might have to change my opinion on the value of this item :)

    I tried one of these early in my recovery when I had very little active movement. Kind of pointless back then, but I'm looking into them again. My major hurdle is opening my hand past that "sticking point" after clenching.

    This reminded me of 12 years ago when my dad had a stroke. I went with him to REHAB and they had a bunch of people using the BIONESS HAND thing. They liked me there because at the time I was using the BIONESS L300 for my foot. It showed what your hand was capable of. Every one in the class went back to traditional old school methods. Nobody there could afford a BIONESS for them selves. Also a lot of the clients didn't like the feel of the electrics pulsing through your skin. My Dad did better with rubber balls and rolled up face cloths.

    I've used the Saebo Flex & while it worked as it should for about the first year, it was impossible to put on myself & eventually painful to use.

    resting splint stretching then use the glove,I have this glove from Amazon,I like the extra glove to put on the non effected side to do like the mirror method but without the mirror,it's a timely proces, my hand has tons of tone in my left hand as I was an avid guitar player and had a very strong hand so it's super hard to put my resting splint on even with help,I love your videos Tara!only if all therapists are like you!your amazing and talented!❤👍I've learned a ton from watching your wonderful videos!God bless you Tara Tobias!🫶🙏🎉your doing God's work my dear👌💯

    I can say with experience that any glove that requires you to slip each finger into individual slots will be impossible if your hand is still clenched from spasticity. It's just impossible to do.

    The SYREBO GLOVE IS CHEAP AND HAS SOME USEFUL FUNCTIONS .it’s not good if you have a lot of spasticity .Saebo flex is to expensive for the amount of use you will get from it .Definitely don’t buy it if you don’t have someone to put it on for you as you won’t be about to use it you won’t be able to get it on.

    I have one of those robot hands it's pretty decent I mainly use it for stretching but yeah you have to put in the time where you want to see the work nothing can replace brain 🧠 to muscle connection over and over #Oldschool lol 😂

      Love this way of using the glove! Ok, maybe you changed my mind on the value :) Oh, and yeah, I am old school in my thinking for sure :)

    They are a waste of money if you have no hand/finger movement, plus if you have curled fingers/balled up fist, it will be tough to put the glove on and the glove won't fully open your hand. I will also say that many in the beginning stages of stroke are desperately trying to find" quick fixes" causing them to spend tons of money. Stroke is a brain injury not a broken arm.

      My son's father's fingers are stiff and don't bend. They are straight out. Would this not work for him?

    • @kicknowledgesmith8608
      @kicknowledgesmith8608 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@tanyaguerrero944 Possibly, these things are all trial and error. I would give it a shot. I would also try stretching, message, tens unit, put hand in cold/hot water, alternate for a few minutes, to maybe loosen it up. Also look into the Saebo hand glove, the Saebo Flex and the Saebo stretch. Hopefully this helps. I will keep your son's father in my thoughts. stay strong and take care!
