Could you do a video on the electrical set up thinking of going down the jackery route in mine but unsure would love to see a more in depth look into the electrical work you have done to get some ideas/ inspiration for mine
Hi Tom, I'll look into doing a video about this. It's actually really simple you just wire it up the same way to the small fuse box and then connect the fuse box to a male 12v cigarette point which plugs straight into the Jackery or whatever portable power station you have.
Fantastic set up. Starting to my own build with a Caddy Maxi. Though some bad news...Yours is not euro 6 complient. Its usually the sept 2015 and later with Caddys as mine is the same as yours.
Thanks, Im glad you like it 👍 Well I do know mine was registered December 2015 so it still could be euro 6 and was advertised as such when I bought it.
Great video Jack. Some interesting features. I'm just about to start a conversion on a Caddy Maxi to include a pull out bed. Particularly like the pull out drawer on runners under the bed for great storage. I'm also going the power station route. I can't decide if to go for a pop top roof so be interested to hear how you get on and if it was something you considered?
Thanks Peter, I'm glad my video has given you some inspiration and ideas for when you start the conversation on your Caddy Maxi. You can definitely get a pop top on the caddy there is companies out there that can do it but I'd imagine it would cost a fair amount. I personally find the height in the van to be fine, I do mostly everything in the van whist sitting down anyway so it's never been an issue for me. Maybe test the van out first by putting a temporary bed in there and see how it feels to get an idea of what it's like before deciding on getting a pop top.
Great Video Jack, just got a Caddy maxi too, looking to sometimes sleep in it, do you have any details/links to your curtains and track, looks perfect to keep light out away from the front and help the front warm up in winter while driving
Thank you! The cab divider curtains are called Van X curtains here's the link: van-x.co.uk/product/vw-caddy-cab-divider-curtain-kit/ Good look with the van build 👍
Great build! Very detailed. I have a couple questions. How's the noise of the fridge, do you think it's louder than a normal fridge? How long did you make the bed? I saw in another comment its 1050mm wide. Do you have a link or name of the cupboard button latches? Are you considering adding a roof vent or anything else besides the wind deflectors and the moisture absorbing cushion for ventilation and moisture control? Until what temperature do you find it comfortable / doable without a heater?
Hi Winflip, the fridge is quite noisy since it's only a cheap one but I always sleep with earplugs anyway so it doesn't really bother me. The bed is about 1800mm long and to find the buttons just search camper van buttons on eBay and you'll easily find them. I might consider adding a roof vent or side windows in the future but for now just having the wind deflectors is fine for the ventilation, you'll always get some moisture build up in pretty much any type of camper van anyways. I only really use the camper van in the warmer months but do have some 1 nighters during the cooler months and it's doable it depends what you sleep in really. It usually stays about 3 degrees warmer than whatever the outside temperature is.
Nice Van! I love the look of your cupboard with the wood on top and the beautiful blue color. New subs here! Excited to check out more of your adventures 😊 Hope you enjoy your channel too!
Jack, how’s the solar panel getting on ? Thinking of putting one on mine, however mine is a swb. Would you reckoned the one you have used and how many watts is it ? Thank you
love this video mate. please can you send me a link to where you got the drawer sliders from that you used for the pull out part of the bed? I need something exactly the same!
Thanks, I'm glad you like the video. The draw sliders are from amazon and you can also get them in different sizes as well. www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07WZJZVSQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
@@JacksVanLifeAdventures Fantastic, thank you so much for your reply and the link! What size did you use for yours? I only ask because you and I have roughly the same sized bed, so I may be able to guide myself from what you used.
@@TravelWithTheLinthwaites I used the 400mm sized draw sliders. My bed in total is 1050mm width with the fixed part being 650mm wide so the sliding part slides out by 400mm.
love it mate. its just enough!! and fast as hell i bet :) cheers from Portugal. Hoping to get one Maxi 7Seat (for more versatibility) whats your view? i think it will be my best car buy :D
Wauw, never saw a big 'safe' like yours, great job! I am an old Dutch lady building my van and wonder if you can tell: how did you fix your curtain rail in the roof, I am afraid of screw things 🙂and didn't see this 'system' of yours anywhere else. But it looks so easy and perfect. Likewise the curved rails in the back windows. Mean a lot to me if you could explain and help me overcome my fears. Have a great time on the road bud.
Thank's m keizer, I'm glad you like my camper van build. I fixed my cab curtain rail to the carpeted ply roof panel with some small screws and for the window rails I drilled pilot holes before screwing in self tapping screws. I hope this helps.
How did you fix the overhead shelf? I have a kangoo and have put a net instead of a shelf as not sure how to connect the back part to the car without putting screws in the body

👍Well done I like what you have done with a small space
Thanks! 👍
Fantastic conversion mate well done. Enjoyed watching it 👍
That looks great! Nice job!
Thank you! Cheers!
Thanks 👍The roof really makes it. It’s like a Tardis.
Cool, you have to visit Scandinavia.
I definitely plan to one day 😀
Excellent build. Great job 👏
Thank you! 👍
nice set up

Love your van ❤
Hi, I love your set up, do you have any pics or a video of how you did your bed, I’m wanting to do the same thing. Thanks
Well impressed like what you done
A very well thought out design like it 👍

Hi Peter, the bed is about 1800mm but you easily have enough space for a bed length of up to 2 meters in this van.

Where were you located when filming that? It's beautiful scenery! Also, your van is great too!
Nice build. Can you shower out of the back?
Hi Stephen yes you can, I have a cover that goes above the back doors and a small portable pump up shower that is surprisingly quite good.

what are the curtain thingies on the two back door windows called?
Отлично сделано
