Hey, would you be able to share a link for where you bought the foam mattress from? Thanks, your conversion is so inspiring I am planning one myself now
Your curtains behind the cab seats should have been thermal blockout fabric or backing lined. It a very common type of curtain fabric and readily ava in fabric stores. You could now just get the thermal lining and attach to your current fabric curtains. The good part is it doesn't fray so can simply cut to size and stitched to the existing curtains. I would stop the lining just short of your hardware fittings so as to not create bulk behind the hardware. Not only would it blockout the light but also keep out the heat in summer and cold in winter, if your planning on using year round. Great job. Enjoy!
Am I the only one who found this informative AND hilarious? 😂 Had me at "...I have drawn a very detailed and professional plan...". Very nice conversion. Following.

Excellent build, nice video, no messing about no annoying music - well done. One thing, perhaps the cupboard door with the fridge should open the other way - easy access from the van.
Thank you! Unfortunately it wasn’t possible to open that way because it couldn’t open far enough due to the front seat sticking out around half way up the door

Amazing conversation mate, absolutely brilliant how you had done this on your own also and the layout for your van is bang on. Great content buddy and keep the videos coming 👍
Fantastic conversion and a very different layout to all the others I’ve watched. I’m interested in the way you’ve done the bed. Where did you get the frame made and what are the dimensions of it?
Thanks! Yeah I didn’t want a side kitchen because I needed the bed to be a certain size. The frame is 120cm wide by about 175cm and then the wooden board overhangs by about 10cm at the back to make it about 185cm long. It’s basically a small double. The guy who made it was an eBay seller that sells frames and I just asked him to customise the size for me and he did. There’s a few sellers that do the frames I think
@@Adz It’s definitely the route I want to go on the bed layout, it’s perfect. What was the name of the eBay seller you bought from? I’ve had a good look there but can’t see anything like it. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Yeah it folds completely flat so I can keep it in the shelf bit above the drivers seat! Much better than the big toilets some people put in these small vans haha. And thank you!
I haven't seen the full video yet, but when I saw the car, my first question was... Will it have a kitchen?.... and.... Here we go....you British guys put a whole kitchen in every car, I think.😂 That is the reason why I am going to convert a short Caddy. Now I am keen on looking at the rest. 💯👍🌞
Very nice build!! A good alternative to a fire extinguisher is a small plant spray bottle, test it occasionally (some triggers go rusty!), the water spray will put most small fires out without covering everything with powder or foam etc. Add some washing liquid and you can also use it as a pre-soak for the washing up.
Nice conversion! The bubble foil everyone uses is fine for vapour barrier but useless as an insulation or sound deadener! The plastic bottle insulation is great but needs a vapour barrier! 👍
Thank you! I used a separate sound deadener. And not standard foil, it was insulated too. But also vapour barriers do more damage than good a lot of the time. I think it’s far better to control moisture levels rather than to attempt to stop it reaching the metal. Because it inevitably will in a van and then the vapour gets trapped behind the barrier and can’t dry which causes a problem
Very cool. I was cursing my ass off just trying to make bug screens for my panoramic sunroof and my cargo door with no see um screen, scissors, magnets, and duct tape. After watching this, I'm just going to shut up and get the shit done. Thanks for the motivation!
Thanks for the comment! There was a lot of learning and difficulties that I didn’t film. The video makes it seem easier than it was but when I look back on it it does seem like it was straightforward. If I do another one it should be a lot easier now!
Great Job you have done there, very well thought out and executed. You should be proud of yourself. Could even be the start of a little business, who knows?
I've enjoyed a few of your mad adventures but only just catching up on the build. Well thought through - nice neat job. And a good shout installing the colour coded front bumper. I hope your channel goes from strength to strength. All the best from Huddersfield.
Just catched up on your work and vlogs .... Credit to you on the build ..I been planning for over a year .but each time I see another idea I want to change mine....Nice job
Thanks! Yeah I didn’t know 100% what layout I wanted until I had the van completely empty. I sat in the back for hours with a tape measure considering different options haha
A keyhole plate (escutcheon plate) fitted to each top of the rear doors gives a place for a brush handle with a screw in each end to be fixed across the doors when opened so securely holding them opened draped cloth over to give extended privacy space maybe standing changing area or shower space.
Very nice, mate. I am thinking to turn my SUV into a temporary camper. It's a Vauxhall and when you fold back seats down - there is no even surface. So it must be some sort of extra material that will elevate the surface so I can make a nice flat bed - inflatable matt and a sleeping bag. Maybe a storage box and a plywood sheet? Will see. I don't plan to go near police station - you know what they say: the darkest place is under the candlestick! Good vid thought!
I’m torn between keeping what I’ve got, upgrading to a bigger van or getting an SUV and turning that into a camper. If it’s an SUV it’ll be very tight for space but could make it more fun. The only issue is space to cook indoors I think. Good luck with yours! Just gotta sit in the back for a while and picture various layouts until you think of something that’ll work. And thank you!
The camper itself is really innovatively planned and very well implemented. I really like it and I am massively impressed! I don't know how many times you've heard this before and I don't feel like reading through so many comments... but here are 2 points you could possibly improve. 1: 1. you should only mount the carbon monoxide sensor close to the ground. About 30 cm, but definitely at the bottom edge of your bed. At the height where it is currently installed, you would inhale the carbon monoxide before the sensor can sound the alarm. 2. The bed construction is really very stable. It also looks very heavy. I for one would make a couple more bolts to the base plate. I don't currently believe your bed could withstand a rear-end collision and be held securely in place. I only mean well and this is not meant as flaming or hate. It would be a shame if something serious happened because of something like this. Have fun with the undercover camper! Greetings from Bavaria :-D
Thanks for the comment! Although if I placed the carbon monoxide detector low down it wouldn’t be effective. They need to be placed high up. I think you’re getting carbon monoxide confused with propane. Propane is heavier than air. But carbon monoxide is lighter. As for the bed. The fixings on the floor are weak because the wooden floor is so thin. They’re just in place for a little bit of extra security. There’s a few plates that hold it directly into the metal wall of the van though so it should be all good. It would’ve been nice to secure it through the floor completely though, so I may do that at some point. And thank you!
@@Adz Wow, I didn't expect a response. Oh crap, then I was wrong about this device. I installed a combi gas detector in the motorhome at the time and it had to be installed as I mentioned. You are right. That was mainly because it was supposed to warn against propane. My mistake. If you have considered the bed, everything is fine. I have already subscribed to you because I like the way you have converted the camper and it is really something different from the usual. I'm looking through your videos bit by bit. These are perfect for a day with a hangover xD. It would be interesting to see a video of what your daily costs are when you are on the road, with food, showers, laundry, fuel and everything else. The camper also costs taxes and insurance. In any case, thanks for your answer. I wish you a good trip and many more fans and videos :-D
Yeah I thought the same about the carbon monoxide detector until I read the instructions it came with! Hopefully the bed is ok because there’s no more places to fix it now haha. And yeah I try to And sure I respond to all comments but I only get notifications for the 1st comment, and not replies that are attached to it for some reason! I think I’ll be doing a van tour video but mainly I’ll be sticking to vlogs because not all of the audience have vans so they might get a bit bored of I go into too much detail unfortunately. If I ever do a live stream I can talk about stuff like that though. And thanks again!
@@Adz my Brothers has also done a van build and he was telling me..he's also looking forward to doing the Next one!! addictive hey! Good luck and keep up the good work..I'm currently watching your burger combo edit!🤣..
Looks good, the vinyl flooring is a good idea for cutting down on weight as well as costs. One thing, you need to put your Carbon Monoxide detector close to the floor as it is a heavier gas so will sink.
Thanks! The vinyl flooring was definitely a good move and there’s so much choice in design :) but yeah I think you’re thinking of a propane detector because the gas is heavier. Carbon monoxide is around the same density as air so they need to be placed just below ceiling height because the carbon monoxide will rise with warm air
Mate, that was SO good to watch! Thanks for putting the vid up. I don't know if you think it maybe wasn't as big a production as some others, but it was simple, honest, straightforward and just as normal as any of us out here would be. And for all that it was truly inspirational. Favourite but was "I've cut this wood up using a tenon saw and that square thing" 😁. No frills or pretends here bud. Top job 👍👍👍. 😎
Thanks mate! When I started filming it I thought it was a good idea to film it in a simple way like I did, then when I was editing it I thought it wasn’t good enough to post so I nearly didn’t! Glad I did though! Glad you enjoyed it
Been watching all your videos from latest all the way back to here. Great content and im a bit hooked so hurry up and get the new van built i need my fix.
Hi, new subscriber here. I've recently seen some of your videos and I love them. In this video I love what you've done with little Caddy. Very neat job 👏 I just recently started to think about wanting to get into van life. I think it might be actually cheaper option of living in UK. Plus the bonus of being able to see new places.
Awesome build! Subbing. My only suggestion would be to secure the wires better. Solder and replace those splice connectors and definitely secure the ground wires better. Check out wire ferrules. Bumps and rough road will eventually loosen up connections and may even be a fire hazard.
Thanks! Yeah I was thinking about soldering at the time but I thought I’d risk it for now. The earth has been very securely bolted to the chassis. But yeah I may give it all a check over and update soon!
You can use the alternator of the running engine to change your leisure battery via the (cigarette/12 volt accessories socket on the dash it's better if this is dead when the ignition/engine is switched off. You need to check that this is switched by the ignition switch or you discharge your starting system. But if it is switched off with the ignition your engine changes your leisure battery all the time the engine is running.
It’s not as simple as just plugging it into a 12v socket unfortunately. It needs a split charge relay or even better a b2b charger which is what I have. I’ve also got a solar controller built into the b2b charger so it’s all good :) but thank you for the comment!

VW caddy maxi owner here. Loving the stealth camper 😎
Caddy crew!
Brilliant conversion mate, given me lots of inspiration for my build!
Thank you mate!
Smashing job @Adz Ventures
You have everything you need and finished great. Well done, and many happy hours in it.
Thanks Rupert! I’m really happy with it!
Well done, you did an excellent job
Thanks for not dragging it out into 17 parts. Cool build, very informative
Yeah I wanted to make something that would cover everything in a fairly short video! Thank you!
You have done an amazing job with this camper. One of the best ones I’ve seen 👍
Thank you!
1. you should only mount the carbon monoxide sensor close to the ground.
And yeah I try to
And sure I respond to all comments but I only get notifications for the 1st comment, and not replies that are attached to it for some reason! I think I’ll be doing a van tour video but mainly I’ll be sticking to vlogs because not all of the audience have vans so they might get a bit bored of I go into too much detail unfortunately. If I ever do a live stream I can talk about stuff like that though.
And thanks again!
Best ever upload of any category ever.✅
Love this comment. Thanks Richard!
Hey Adam i've watched a good few of your edits....all the way through! you done a amazing job on this micro van build top notch job...
Thanks Paul!! Glad you like the van! Looking forward to building another now!
@@Adz my Brothers has also done a van build and he was telling me..he's also looking forward to doing the Next one!! addictive hey! Good luck and keep up the good work..I'm currently watching your burger combo edit!🤣..
Excellent job very well done. Hope you enjoy your travels! 👍
Thank you Elizabeth!
Greetings from Montana, USA. You have a very slick conversion & stealthy. Great job. I'll be watching your adventures. Now subscribed.
Thanks Michael! Hope you enjoy the other vids!
@@Adz Sorry, my bad x
All good! I think if I had a bigger van I’d get a bigger gas canister and then get a propane detector as well x
At last someone has built the type of bed/sofa i had thought up. Its such a great idea but i wasn't quite sure how it would work. Cheers
Yeah I sat in the empty van for hours thinking of all the possibilities and this seemed to be the best possible option! Thanks!
@@Adz yeah, that view out the back will give you some great views. Enjoy
Beautiful. Best camper van I've seen.
Thank you!
Thanks
Thank you Ray!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Brilliant conversion mate and really enjoying the channel from the start 👍🏻
Thanks mate! Hoping to keep it going with a lot of content!
Cool, I really like the projector and screen. I need to get that for my Rav4
Thanks! Yeah it’s a great addition! There’s a link in the description to everything I’ve used in mine
@@Adz tks
Been watching all your videos from latest all the way back to here. Great content and im a bit hooked so hurry up and get the new van built i need my fix.
Thanks mate! I have a new one ready to upload but yeah I can’t wait for the proper adventures to start!
Perfect lil' camper for some weekend mischief. Schmick job Bruv. 👌
Thanks mate!
Great build all around. That bed is awesome.
Thank you! And yeah it’s comfortable too so I’m definitely happy with it!
Your build is upgradable and it’s some amazing work. Wel done
Thanks Andrew!
Brilliant- one of the best van conversion videos I’ve seen.
Thanks Clive. And glad you think so!
Wow buddy that’s Awesome… what a cracking build .. all the best cheers Chris & Sam
Thank you!
Hi, new subscriber here. I've recently seen some of your videos and I love them. In this video I love what you've done with little Caddy. Very neat job 👏
I just recently started to think about wanting to get into van life. I think it might be actually cheaper option of living in UK. Plus the bonus of being able to see new places.
Thank you!
You’ve got some skills there bud. Great job👍
Thank you!
Love it! Lots of fun guys! Greetings from Holland
coolest mini van i seen yet i love it best of luck on your travels
Thanks! I’m really happy with it. And yeah I’m looking forward to plenty of adventures!
"Without further ado" means your camper has no loo. Nice video. Couldn't resist. Cheers, D.
😂😂😂 I have an emergency fold away one lol. And thanks!
I’ve also got a solar controller built into the b2b charger so it’s all good :) but thank you for the comment!
from novice to professional!!! loved that and well explained m8❤️👍
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it!
Brilliant build mate ,I’d tour the country and skate parks all summer.
Thanks for this
Thanks! Hoping to travel all over the uk in the coming months!
@@Adz cool ,have fun mate👍
What a cracking little job you've done there. I wish I could do something like this 👌
Thank you! I had no experience so I think it’s possible for anyone to do it really!
