As this video is 2 years old you've probably done it by now, but if not - you can attach a ziptie to the rear door mechanism then add a lanyard to that which sticks out the top of the door card. Then you can open from the inside 👍
Wonderful video guys. Thanks for the van tour, really good to see how it all fits together and how well thought out it is. Do agree as well that your bed solution is better than the rock n roll bed. Just shows you don't need a massive van to enjoy van life. Here's to 2022 and more adventures.

Really interesting video. I have just got my Caddi Maxi and I am about to start fitting it out. Do you have any install images or video of the diesel heater install and the connection to the diesel tank, please?
Thankyou, we hope it gave you some inspiration for your caddy maxi build. Unfortunately we didn't film the actual installation of the diesel heater because a mate did it. We only have the clips on here. If it is any use to you, after an inspection we were told that it would have been easier to fit in the rear passenger footwear. However our leisure battery was already mounted there 👍🏻
Well done you two, this is a great addition to your original van build video. A nice insight into using the van from the initial build. Do you find that the mattress at 10cm deep (from your description) is comfortable enough for sleeping on as I'm at the stage of ordering a foam mattress for our build and not sure which depth to go for? Looking forward to your next adventure!

What about the fan you have on the ceiling? Doesn't it help with condensation, cooling in hot weather etc? What kind of fan is it and did you instal it yourselves?
The fan came already on the van so not got too much info on that. Its alright, it does add to the ventilation but doesn't stop condensation. It mainly works when the van is moving. I personally wouldn't go out and purchase one as it can get noisy when driving. What we find helps best for condensation is leaving the side windows and cab windows open slightly. We have "wind deflectors" on the cab window so we can leave the windows open slightly and it stops any rain, insects ect getting in but keeps a bit of air flow coming in👍🏻
Hi Christian, thankyou 😁 Yes the diesel heater is 5kw and we have it on a diesel heater mounting plate so the air intake and exhaust goes through the centre of that that through the floor. I dont believe that any caddy or micro camper conversion meets the requirements to be registered as a camper but I may be wrong. Claudia however is insured as a van with windows with a campervan conversion. All major modifications are declared and the annual price was about the same as what it was when she was on standard van insurance. Hope this helps👍🏻
Thankyou 😁 Vandoc fitted the split charge system, leisure battery, led lights and the wall sockets. They did a fantastic job and we would highly recommend them. We fitted some extra sockets and inverter afterwards as we realised where we wanted the original sockets wasn't practical. Not sure on price as we had it carpeted and windows fitted at the same time 👍🏻
