Music is healing. Kokoroko is such an amazing band. I’ve been listening to this concert a millions of times during hard times and it soothed me so many times. Come to Dublin please !!
I totally relate. The genre is called Afrobeat, not "afrobeats" but Afrobeat. It's originator is Fela Kuti, a legendary classically trained Nigerian artist known as the father of Afrobeat. Kokoroko's sound is somewhat a modernized and re-imagined version of Fela Kuti's sound. Hence, I say the genre is Afrobeat.
@@gurusawa6517 oh yea its afrobeat, there's a clear inspiration from fela but the production and some of the jazz melodies felt modern enough for me to call it afrojazz. Whatever you call it, it's beautiful music
El director de camara un antibajista y antipianista bárbaro ja ja los enfocada 1 sola vez por tema. Amigo dale, son lineas eternas enfocalos un rato, la magia que están tirando es única! Hijo de yuta.
SO BAD THE SOUND in the stage, bad microphones in drums and percussion ..... When you hear the boiler room session is amazing.... but God bless KoKOroko > amazing jazz musician...

it's still jazz, afrobeat is literally a mixture of jazz, funk, highlife and a bit of fuji elements
The early years of Osibisa was very similar. If you don’t know about them, check it out. I think you would like them.

The Akan Dialects in Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire*.
People usually forget that there are more than 10 million Akan People in Côte d'Ivoire ( Ivory Coast)
It's actually an Urhobo word from Nigeria meaning "Strong"
