Jesus, you're so pretentious, with your forced underestimates of descriptive prowess, and that lack of commas, as if you're so excited with being you forgot to breathe, and the story of everything was so long and exciting you couldn't fit it all in your bag, so filled a pocket and a half, with some odd bits you knew fully well would surely drop out at and produce an awkward moment, at an inopportune time, but then, someone handed me their love, and, shows me simple kindness, and my life will never be the same, and....... (~or words, to that effect)
You know art is a form of storytelling, these musicians are painting mind blowing pictures with their music.I love the rhythm, the horns and vocals.Beautiful sounds indeed .
I got here from suggestion after Yussef Kamaal - Calligraphy in Brownswood. It's broadening audio perspectives, to check it all out what all of You above wrote.
Kokoroko (stylised as KOKOROKO) is a London-based eight-piece musical group led by Sheila Maurice-Grey, playing a fusion of Jazz and Afrobeat. - Wikipedia
There is a fifth dimension, beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is in the middle ground between funk and jazz, between deep groove and chilled vibrations, and it lies between the pit of man's primal groove and the summit of his spiritual plane. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call Kokoroko.
Heard about Kokoroko after finding their name as recommended artists in a video about Fela Kuti, Im so pleased! I dig the Internet for this knowledge sharing really.
damn. dats funky......wait, that last song! I heard that years ago at this beach house. we was just looking out the window at the ocean, chillin, with that on a loop and it was beyond perfect. Totally forgot about it and who wrote it since the name was lost in an old cell phone, was thinking about it a couple weeks ago.....and bam!
Just seen these guys in Bristol. Everything perfectly delivered, really lovely humble people when you meet them too. At the top of their game and due to climb higher I think!
I wasn't feeling the first 40 seconds but I'm glad I stayed to listen to the rest. I like that they don't drown each other out, you can clearly listen to each instrument.
