      Gotta say these sorts of videos where the original board is destroyed to make a less functional device doesn't really inspire me to use your services. When I think of hiring competent service providers I don't want to think about hack jobs like the one depicted in the above video. We've all built projects that looked worse at one point, but we didn't film it, edit it, and get a corporate sponsor to show off the embarrassing mess that actually made the device worse and took away functionality after it was "finished"

    • @PCBWay
      @PCBWay ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Dear @@NOX-ID47 , thanks for your comment. As a PCB manufacturer, we've been dedicated to encouraging people to create and change. As for making it "worse" or "better", it can be measured from different dimensions. In this video, the author reduces the size of the product to 1/10 of the original size on the premise of maintaining basic functions, which is already kinda success.

    I think it is hilarious that big N released their own retro "mini" consoles that used emulation and it's amazing that it was ENTHUSIESTS that came up with this. Fantastic work! I do also wonder, at what point would it be easier to have entirely new, custom PCB's created that allow for original Wii processors to be desoldered and resoldered to them, in effect "remanufacturing" the Wii, in what shape and size required for the job.

    • @TheAbsol7448
      @TheAbsol7448 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      To be kinda fair, manufacturing native components over emulation would probably be _VERY_ expensive.

    • @ToothpickMan11
      @ToothpickMan11 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nintendo chose emulation to cut costs and maximize profit. Remember, the NES Classic was sold at $60 before the “shortage”, and the SNES Classic $80. There was no sense in reverse engineering the NES and SNES when emulation could easily handle it, and that would significantly increase the cost. This is a product that was designed to bank on people’s nostalgia that would be an impulse buy. I should know, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on one even though I had a million other ways to play the games.

    • @SuperPickle15
      @SuperPickle15 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ToothpickMan11 emulation is almost always the better route, especially for older hardware. The new hardware can be more flexible and not limited to just one thing. For instance, the NES and SNES classic can share the exact same hardware to emulate both machines with basically 100% accuracy. And probably does it with less power than the original hardware. And you could select a SoC that includes everything you'll ever need, builtin ram, nand, wireless communication, USB controller, display interface, etc. So the entire thing can be just a chip on a board.

    • @ToothpickMan11
      @ToothpickMan11 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SuperPickle15 Have to agree, I’ve always believed that emulation is the future. However, it can’t replicate the nostalgia with the real hardware.

    What an incredible work of art.
    Brings a whole new meaning to travel gaming. You can take it wherever you go. Something like this I would totally consider buying. Thank you again for the brilliant minds and craftsmanship of the individuals who created it.
