hamsters get sick a lot. you need to be able to see the signs and they spread disease quickly. they do need a lot of attention. if they do not they will become more wild and bite.
Nothing out of the ordinary really. But while they keep food in their cheek pouches, they make a fatter impression. I went to the vet the other day for a nail that had gotten too long. And I didn't hear anything about the hamster's weight. However, I'll do some additional research on it. Ofcourse I want my hamster to be healthy 🤗

My God what are you feeding these hamsters?? They're SO fat, I give mine treats daily and he's never been that big 😧
