  • Welcome everyone! I'm going to be trialing some ZMAN soft plastics in particular the ZMAN Grubz! I haven't used ZMAN soft pastics previously in any videos or fishing trips, so this will be interesting. Join me for some fishing trips and lets see what these lures can do. Today I went out and got a small flathead on the first cast! Two fish in the first three casts is a promising start! Unfortunately, there was a lot of weed in the water, so I couldn’t fish out on the flats but I managed to practice some underwater filming with the GoPro. I’ll be back out tomorrow to try and upgrade some of these fish and get some bigger ones. Does anyone know what type of weed this is in the water? It definitely makes the fishing difficult around Moreton Bay at the moment.
Please let me know if you want me to try any specific colours of these Grubz! Any suggestion are much appreciated!

Good job mate 👌 always entertaining your videos… you give me a sense of nostalgia from my own Uni days where fishing was an awesome mindful activity for stress relief 🙏🏻😇 I see you love Nudgee creek, have you tried topwater here? The water is clear and the flats are perfect for topwater…. Especially when there is so much weed….Just an idea for a future video for you mate 😉 (some topwater lure suggestions - MMD splash prawn, bassday sugapen, lucky craft Sammy, O.S.P bent minnow). Love your work mate 🙏🏻😊

Hi @Huy Dinh Vu, thanks very much mate! Yeah, It’s definitely a good stress release getting out on the water and going for a fish. Thanks for the suggestions, I’ll have a go at making a top water video. Those lure suggestions sound great and I’ve got a few sugapens to start with. I have heard the MMD splash prawns are great lures. Would be great to bring a fresh new video with some different fishing styles. I got two flathead and a whiting on the ZMAN yesterday, but they were small so I don’t think I’ll make a video with that footage. Very much appreciated mate - good luck with your fishing as well. Cheers

Awesome work! Yea that weed is horrible this time year around Brisbane. Generally winter and early spring it hangs around… hopefully it clears out soon
Maybe due to the floods earlier this year it has made that weed worse? We will never know 🤷‍♂️

Hey @Dang Fishing 👋! Yeah, It’s pretty annoying when trying to fish, but it’s good to know it goes away pretty soon. Cheers mate! Not sure if you saw the underwater footage but I’ve got a GoPro case now and I’m hoping to get some good releases with it. Hope your fishing is going well mate! 🎣

The zman plastics are really good hey. I always come back to them. Bait junkies are great too, they are really similar profile and material wise and tend to do just as well and last just as long as the zman placcies.

Hey Will, Yeah, I’ve found they are really good and they are really tough too. I’m keen to see what fish I can catch with them. Awesome, thanks for suggesting the Bait Junkie plastics, I’ll have to try those ones later on as well. Let’s hope the seaweed clear up soon so we can get some fish! Cheers mate, good luck your fishing too! 🎣

Just play the long game because the fishing will get better soon mate. Thanks heaps & good luck! 🎣

There has been a lot of awful weed at nudgee atm. A lot in the bay atm. Not sure what’s going on, I haven’t seen it this bad.

Hey @adrian Gjedsted, yeah, apparently it happens every year, but it seems worse this time. I’m hoping it will clear up over the next few weeks as it’s making difficult to catch fish 🎣 keep getting it stuck on my leader knot and lure. I managed to get a fish on surface but I want to finish the ZMAN videos haha. Cheers mate!

I think it’s to do with the ocean temps and currents. Climate change and an extended bout of La Niña means oceans are a lot warmer than usual for this time of year so perhaps that’s got something to do with it. Usually it comes through a bit later in spring when the water warms up but yeah it’s a bit early this year.

@@Heino5010 thanks heaps mate! Glad it’s not just me who’s finding it difficult to fish with it around. Yeah, Hopefully it clears up soon! When the weather starts to warm up the fishing will get better too! A few weeks and it will be awesome! 👏 cheers mate!
