    Hey Nigies,
    I love watching your videos, and now re-watching your vids from 2 years ago. I have noticed that you haven't gotten around to making any new videos. Just checking in to see how you are going.

      Hey @solarmax, it was an awesome afternoon to chase some flathead! There were heaps of poddy mullet around and they were going crazy so I though I’d try some mullet lures! Ive heard those whiting glides are awesome! It would be cool to do a video on those one day! Glad to hear you are getting on to some fish with them! I’ve been sick last two weeks, good old winter viruses hanging around! Haha, cheers mate!

      @@nigiessquidgies Yeah nice, I noticed you’re running new braid on the Sienna that just new braid or a new setup if so have you seen the new reel Shimano has out, the Catana it’s pretty much a suped up Sienna

      @@Solarmax12 Good eye for detail mate. Yeah, I was getting a bit low on braid and added a spare 50 yards of green Diawa J-Braid I had at home, same weight It's just a different colour. I was just getting a bit low and wanted to use a fuller spool for casting lures. I've got half a spool of blue and half a spool of green now, haha. I've been casting some metal lures off the beach too and need to cast a long way. Oh sweet!! Thanks heaps mate. I'll check those out I'm in the market for a new reel soon. this poor Sienna has seen better days. haha.

    It always amazes me that there aren't more fish hanging around Kedron Brook given how many bait fish and mullet get around there!

      Hey @Heino! Yeah, it’s crazy! I thought it would be full of fish. Its only on high tide I can get fish up there. This was the best session I’ve had up there lure fishing. I’ve tried bait a few times too and haven’t got any fish. I tried some small plastics and the tails kept getting nipped off. Hope your fishing is going well mate! Yew 🎣

    was this in the little creek thing at nudgee

    • @nigiessquidgies
      @nigiessquidgies  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey @TheKidFisho, this is upstream from the boat ramp, there is a little creek at Nudgee which is a green zone so you can't fish in there. This is up from the boat ramp at Nudgee in the actual river part, just be careful there's lots of mozzies and its pretty swampy up there. I have the most luck flathead fishing down near the dog park at the actual beach section, good luck. Yew!

    Hey man!
    Great videos! as being kiwi don't have much knowledge of the fishing here only from online research.
    it's great to see this as it's not to far from were I am, will be getting more gear and give this a crack, missing my fishing!
    Is lure fishing more ideal for nudgee beach?? Or can do some bait fishing as well??
    Keep you the good content! 🤙

      Hey @doug105, Thanks heaps and I’m glad you are enjoying the videos. I would consider starting off at Nudgee with some soft plastics as they are a consistent and cost effective method of fishing the area.
      Some of my go to plastics are:
      Plastic 1: Berkley Gulp 4 inch Minnow in watermelon pearl colour. They come in a red packet and are absolute fire around Brisbane.
      Plastic 2: 3 inch Berkley gulp shrimp in Molting or Natural colour.
      Jighead: Pair that up with a TT Tournament series Jighead 2/0 size with a 1/6 ounce weight.
      Make sure you use flourocarbon leader anything around 8-15lb tied to your line.
      These are some of my go to plastics which I can consistently get fish on.
      If you want to use hard bodies, consider the 75mm Diawa Double clutches around the sand flats at Nudgee - I’ve made a video with these. Very effective lures.
      Good luck mate and hope this helps! PS the flathead the same as in the above video will also hit those lures but you will also get heaps of other species hitting them as well. The above Savage gear 8.5cm swim mullet lures will mainly catch flathead.

    • @nigiessquidgies
      @nigiessquidgies  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks heaps mate! It was a good session. This is one my favourite flathead lures it’s an 8.5cm BCF 3D Mullet lure. They are about $11.99 for a pack of 5 at BCF. I’ve used most colours and they all work. I also use the Berkley 4 inch minnow plastics in watermelon pearl colour and the 3 inch Berkley gulp shrimp plastics in natural colour. These are my go to flathead lures. I just find them very cost effective and I get pretty good results in the Brissy area.
