I drove a Sienta hybrid before and it achieved 18km per L, calculated using the fuel I pump in and not by the system. Just saying.

Agreed that the $125k-$142k makes it a less attractive on paper. I think it would compete and sell better if it was in the $11xk range.

I think the current and upcoming stricter emissions played an important part. This 1.5l mild hybrid engine would meet stricter standards here.

VW DSG always worrisome. Nothing is spectacular this Golf or other Golf. Old wine in new bottle

That is the conservative side of Deutschland. Good Engineering like DSG for Autobahn, unlike city traffic lights every 1-2 km.
but the old wines taste better so why change it!
