      yea, but the pricing is not looking great. I bought my SE 2020 128GB for 349 within a couple months of launch, at a slight discount. My original SE was even cheaper. vs 479 for the new 128gb SE... thats a significant price increase. Especially when they didn't return the squared edging which everyone who owned a 4-4S-5-5S-SE adored.

    I have the SE 2020 and it has been nothing but fantastic. I am super excited about this phone because it's just a good phone. Yeah I could get a 13 Pro Max but why? I just use one camera 99% of the time,this will do everything the pro max does at a fraction of the price, and, let's be honest, a huge majority of people are charging their phones throughout the day with apple carplay and have chargers all over their house/office. The SE line has been awesome and i'm really happy they still cater to the people who just want a good phone. Well done Apple and thank you. I'm looking forward to getting this phone later this year!

    17:15 The origional SE launched with the A9 processor which was in the new, at the time, iPhone 6S. The 2020 iPhone SE launched with the A13 processor which was in the new, at the time, iPhone 11. The 2022 iPhone SE is launching with the A15 processor which is in the current new iPhone 13. It seems they always put the current new processor from the flagship iPhone into the SE. The iPhone 12 with the A14 didnt launch until after the 2020 SE. There is no way apple would release a new chip in their budget phone before it came to the flagship iPhone first.

      was thinking the same thing. My first iphone was a 5S 64GB. Loved it, but back in 2014 it was 525+tax and that was far more than I had ever spent on a phone. Bought an SE 64GB or 128GB maybe 2 years after launch to replace it and that was my favorite phone ever because it retained the squared sides, was a significant upgrade from my dated 5S and yet was like less than half the cost used; I got one in mint shape for cheap on ebay.. maybe $170? Bought one for my mom too and she still uses it 5 years later.
      Then I got the SE 2020 a little bit after release, 128GB for 350... still felt like a good value though I really don't like it that much. I can't one hand it with my thumb, and I drop it on my fckn face when I use it in bed, lying on my back.
      However, this phone is damn pricey in comparison -- especially for a 2nd gen refresh(seems like same body). To some degree that price reflects the crapload of inflation we've had in the last 2 years. 80% of all money in circulation has been printed since 2020. But to me it's still a lot of money. Overpriced. I may be waiting on a newer phone for quite a while because it doesn't seem like a 14 Mini is in the works whatsoever, and at this point the 12 mini is dated, and, the 13 mini overpriced.

  • @DylanM15
    @DylanM15 2 ปีที่แล้ว +17

    All you hear is the criticism about its display, bezels, battery, lack of cameras, etc. Obviously it could have a new design, more cameras, etc but then it would also cost more. Many tend to ignore that the SE or whatever Apple's budget option is, is one of the top 10 best selling phones year after year too. People want budget iPhone models and many don't care what design and features they have.
    I'm even trying to prove a point with it and I'm swapping out my 12 Pro Max for an SE for at least several months, if not longer. Having some 6s' laying around and I loved the simplicity of it, so I'm super excited for my SE to arrive tomorrow!

    • @OXIR
      @OXIR 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well it is a well deserved criticism. You think all Apple can do is this? Tbey literally use the same literal iPhone 8 casing because it has been 5 years and it is now cheaper than ever to produce. No research and development for a new device, saves a lot of money. The only thing new is camera and chipset.
      I'm an iPhone SE 2 user saying this. Yes, I'm satisfied with the camera in daylight and especially the video performance is very very good at this price range. It also has flagship level performance and the new one is even better with A15. But the battery life is terrible. I can get away with the old front design and big bezels but the fact that they're doing this in 2022 is very.. interesting.
      Also a very important note: the price is nowhere near $430 in many countries. It is double the price of S20 FE, more expensive than the S21 Plus, a little cheaper than the new S22 in some countries. There, if someone buys it it's literally stupidity and nothing else. They're not even in the same class and the others are clear better choices.

      @devilkazumi578 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I bought a brand new iPad Air 5 and I'm loving it so far. It was unusual at first as I'd never used Apple devices before but now I'm used to it and the experience it delivers is great. It got me thinking whether I should switch to their devices in the nearest future. I've been keeping my eye on the iPhone SE 3 lately and I'm planning on buying it. In my opinion, it's the perfect choice for those on a tight budget as it incorporates basically everything we need for day-to-day use. The latest and fastest CPU, great camera, it's portable and will receive software updates for years to come compared to other Android phones from the same price range that will be outdated after 2 years. I'm currently using a 6.58-inch Android phone and it's got a lot of issues even though it's been less than 8 months since I bought it. It's humongous and I have to hold it with my both hands to type this comment. I know some people are mocking this phone for having such a small screen but for me it's a win. The home button is not that bad as it depends on the person and the bezels are easy to get used to. It can perform what a normal phone is supposed to do and for playing video games or watching TV there're a lot of tablets and laptops out there.

To answer your question “Who calls anyone?” I do! Mom does! Boomers and GenXers were not raised with the internet so we don’t need to get the high-end phone every year. We don’t need all the features available just because they exist. I wish I could still use my rotary phone for local calls.

    You said it. This phone is not for everyone but it doesn't take away from its value. Its focus may be Gen Z and Boomers but there's still plenty of appeal for Millennials and Gen X. There are many people that already have laptops, tablets/ipads, smart tvs etc for productivity and content so they just want a quality phone that won't break the bank and will last a while. The 2022 SE will outlive any competitor that is released at the same time making it extremely easy on the wallet in the long run.

The very least apple could have done for this year's iphone se was to shift it over to the iphone X or Xs body which have been widely more popular and probably more mass produced if not the same as the iphone 8. I own an 8 plus, iPhone SE, Iphone SE 2020, and iPhone 6 Plus, and the SE 2022 is a nice but battery life is still the biggest weakness like the 2020. From my experience with the SE 2020, any sustained bluetooth or internet combined with screen on sucks the battery like a sailor. Fast charge cable is mandatory.
