I just changed the battery to a 3000mah version for my Iphone SE 2016 model. I also jailbroke it to work with the latest apps and so far it's been great. I can go a whole day of use and still have battery at the end of the day and it's so small with the headphone jack it's so efficient.
Had my SE since 2021, and while the two main complaints about it would be the camera and the battery life, it still functions perfect for me 4 years later. It’s put me into a position where I have no clue if and what I go to next.
I bought new SE 3 couple months back, been using it since then and tbh i love the device. Ps for everyone complaining about battery I do charge it twice a day but I use it literally all the damn time so yeah its not that bad from my pov. And for the camera it shoots 4k 60fps which is way more than enough. Deep fusion and smart hdr 4 does make the images and videos way way better than older models. All in all A15 Bionic does it’s work pretty well. If you don’t want a big screen device and are ok with old outdated classic design then yeah this is the best device for you.
if you think the SE has a bad battery you should drastically spent less time on your phone. 1-3hrs usage per day is where this phone shines and the very powerful chip will make sure it runs smooth for years to come. if you spent +5hrs per day on your phone thats ON YOU. nobody should spent that much time sucked in to a little box
Great take on phone usage! I have had android phones since 2012 starting with Samsung and then moved to the Pixel 3 then the Pixel 6a. My Pixel 6a kept dropping service while I was on vacation. I needed a new phone, but did not want to spend a lot. I have an iPad and MacBook already, so I stopped at T-Mobile and bought the cheapest iPhone they had (knowing that I would return it when I got home). I had it for a week and returned it, but really missed it. I bought another SE 3rd gen from Swappa for $250US with 128gb. It has everything I need and because the screen is so small, I find myself not wanting to watch videos on it as much. The battery lasts all day for me (probably since I’m not on it as much). The A15 Bionic chip is fast and the wireless charging is convenient since my pixel 6a did not have it.
The only reason why I wanted a newer iPhone was the battery life. I always put on music on my headphones when I'm going somewhere and every morning from my home to my school (which is 20-25 minutes away) my battery percentage on my SE dropped to 80%. It always died around noon with my usage. If I didn't use it that much, it lasted until 4 in the afternoon.

I feel like Apple knew what they were doing with the SE 2022, since I see now more and more people "downgrading" to it in today's age of scoial media boom and being constantly online. There's a phone just good enough for phone stuff, but one that will also not intrigue you into staring into it for hours every day. I'm seriously thinking of swapping my 13 Pro for the SE, I'm tired of the digital life and "good" phones.
I happen to agree I work in retail selling phones and sim plans for a mobile network and the amount of people coming into upgrade from a 13 is pretty insane. I have a 15 myself but only because my dad was looking to upgrade as his phone was 7+ years old and it made more sense to give him my current phone at the time. The difference is minimal and the only difference ivies noticed is better battery life on my 15 plus simply because of the bigger size bigger battery. I assume if they made a 13 plus not just pro max it would have the same effect. It handles my day to day tasks in the exact same way. There was zero lag or reason to upgrade my 13.
I enjoyed your video. Thanks for pointing out how Apple got so rich. They do make you always want the latest and greatest. I love the SE 3rd gen. It works fine for me because I don’t spend hours staring at it every day. And I love the small size. Just like my old iPhone from way back in 2010.
I have a SE 2020 and it does all I need it to do. It runs IOS 18 without a hitch. The only real draw back is my battery life. It is terrible. I am a light user too. I use the app NeuralCam for some night photos. Sometimes the photo app struggles at night. It may not be perfect but helps.
I don't mind if the iPhone 8 doesn't have the latest software update. I don't use social media. I used to use social media a lot it effected my mental health. So I quit using it. All I do is listen to music, check emails, weather, Google search, calendar, notes, maps and watch TH-cam on my iPhone 8. I forgot texting also phoning. I do use WhatsApp to contact family that who lives in Hong Kong sending pics as I live in the UK

And it’s my suggestion that you can come up with lot of alternative better content than these.. old iPhone in this time videos.. it’s getting monotonous. I know you are a nice person and you are capable of bringing some great content. I hope you reflect on this. My best wishes
Huh… that call bug you mentioned actually brought back some memories for me. My iPhones do that for me, so I think it might be an iOS issue (I’m also not on T-Mobile)
i had the se 2 in 2022 up until feb 2023 when i lost it, i have gone through a lot of androids and all of them was a bad experience, and im going back to the se 2 or maybe the se 3 for an extra 80 euros.
I have an iPhone 8 still great. I know the battery isn't that great. But you can use a portable battery charger if your phone is about to die. It is handy to use a portable battery charger if you are out and about. I have two portable battery charger just incase one dies on me. (power bank)
I was able to get the iPhone SE 2020, essentially brand new (100% battery life and no wear on the device at all) for a bit over $100. I agree with most everything you said - if you need a phone that you can do what yo described and not LIVE on the phone, you're good and it's perfect IMHO. I also agree that paying $1k+ for a phone is insanity. Most anyone is just going to use it as a social media hub anyways - does that warrant $1k+? Thanks for the video - really great. =)
The se has the same camera as the 7 and 8. Just because the new ones are better doesn’t mean that one is bad. It’s still a perfectly serviceable camera, just don’t zoom in, that’s when you really see how grainy the pictures are
You’re proving that “less is more” in this situation. But we have a lot of those at work, they’re super restricted, and the battery sucks. We have some 11 models, same restrictions, which are much better on battery.
I'm using a se2020. My battery is horrible. It won't make it half a day. I have to put it in power saving mode. Then it comfortably makes it the whole day. Other than that issue, I mostly enjoy the phone. I don't like apple ui. But it works. I don't like spending a lot of money on phones.
I don't usually comment on TH-cam videos but I felt I just had to on this one. Honestly love what you're doing. I think 99% of tech channel are so so surface level, always talking about the specs and how 'oh no this phone doesn't have 24 hrs of battery life' or whatever. You are trying to promote a really healthy relationship with technology and for videos like this, that means using a phone as a phone. Like you, I like it when a phone only has around 2 hours of screen on battery life, because it forces me to use it less. I always aim to keep my screen on time under 2 hours a day. So yeah, thanks for what you're doing and lots of respect from here 🫶
I’m using an se 2022 that I got for $150 from Walmart after using Verizon prepaid for 2 months it’s unlocked on visible. The only limitation I have is the 64gb of storage
I have the SE 2 and I am definitely one of those guys who is a light phone user. No social media or games. Just call, texts and light browsing and gps. Battery lasts me all day plus more. Battery health is 99%. So no complaints. He is correct, use your phone less and it won’t die more. I love that he preaches using less and less. I love that. Because that’s a great message to spread amongst all the crap Apple and smartphones manufacturers try to market every year. I could care less about the “latest and greatest” the phone works great and I have no complaints whatsoever. I say for go either the se 2 or 3. Cheers!
A android flagship that was made in 2019 or later is very good for every phone use needed, some may lack in battery life more than others, but battery life will be better than any iphone se
I have an iPhone SE 2022...and I think it looks fantastic....but I don't use iPhones that much. Im a Samsung Knight. But I love the old style iPhones.(6/7/8/SE's) I MIGHT upgrade to the next SE, but I DEF won't be using a Flagship iPhone.
I am thinking of purchasing a 3rd generation se, I currently have a Samsung a54, would it be worth making the change? I don't care at all about the battery, just look for a small phone, with a good camera and durable. (I have never used iPhone, it would be my first IOS mobile)
Hmmm considering selling my Fold 4 for a mid spec HMD Skyline..... Nice having a folding giant screen, but I feel its too addictive sometimes. I like phones that are honest. If you know what I mean.

DO IT!!!
Love this phone mate, light yet powerful
i used to spend 6 hours pe day on my phone, thanks to this video i bought this phone, support from italy
A pixel 4a,4a5g or 5 "review" like this would also be nice 👌. For the android side of things
the blunt honesty and accuracy 🎉
Bro I’m a long time subscriber of your channel. And it’s my suggestion that you can come up with lot of alternative better content than these.. old iPhone in this time videos.. it’s getting monotonous. I know you are a nice person and you are capable of bringing some great content. I hope you reflect on this. My best wishes
I appreciate the feedback, I’m always looking to improve. I had this video in the pipeline for a while, thanks for watching and your support!
Huh… that call bug you mentioned actually brought back some memories for me. My iPhones do that for me, so I think it might be an iOS issue (I’m also not on T-Mobile)
I use the iPhone 8 and it's working fine.
Loved this review super genuine subbed
An rocking se3
i had the se 2 in 2022 up until feb 2023 when i lost it, i have gone through a lot of androids and all of them was a bad experience, and im going back to the se 2 or maybe the se 3 for an extra 80 euros.
rocking iphone se 2 from past 2 plus year still using i dont have any any complains
Nice!
On average how many hours can you use per full charge?
the problem why you can call her the second time it’s because she has a focus mode on and has the option accept the second call from the same person
i used one of the same for my dailly and it awesome i love it!
I’ll be honest I miss the home button. On I phones. My husband has the I phone Se. I’ll be honest I like how small the phone is too.
Ive used the iPhone se 2020 since August of 2020 and i like it but battery life is definitely my biggest concern everything else and its great
4 years, change the battery or upgrade
We have some 11 models, same restrictions, which are much better on battery.
he makes alot of sense.
The reason the first call didn’t go through is because of the focus mode being on or do not disturb
I'm using a se2020.
My battery is horrible. It won't make it half a day.
I have to put it in power saving mode. Then it comfortably makes it the whole day.
Other than that issue, I mostly enjoy the phone. I don't like apple ui. But it works. I don't like spending a lot of money on phones.
i went from this phone to the iphone 13 last month and i wanna go back to my old phone so bad
So yeah, thanks for what you're doing and lots of respect from here 🫶
I'm still on a 2016 iPhone SE.
Only reason I updated to that was becasue I dropped my 4S.
Waiting for iPhone SE4 😊
the immediate dropped calls is a t-mobile issue. i’ve been unable to pick up calls lately, but can call out just fine
I’m using an se 2022 that I got for $150 from Walmart after using Verizon prepaid for 2 months it’s unlocked on visible. The only limitation I have is the 64gb of storage
1:21 It's not about the size. It's about how you use it!
Cheers!
I appreciate the kind words! Thank you for taking the time to watch
A android flagship that was made in 2019 or later is very good for every phone use needed, some may lack in battery life more than others, but battery life will be better than any iphone se
SE is the budget model. Generally the later model with all the fixes but smaller and will run hotter due to the fact.
THX for the video
great video, love the se lineup
Idk why anyone would need a big phone anyway. Unless you’re a gamer you don’t need the extra screen size
multimedia content
great video bro!
I have a iPhone 7 so…
I went from se 2020 to iphone 14
same
I downgraded from the iPhone 14 Pro to the iPhone SE 3rd gen! I’m just not very fond of the heavy big iPhones
I am thinking of purchasing a 3rd generation se, I currently have a Samsung a54, would it be worth making the change? I don't care at all about the battery, just look for a small phone, with a good camera and durable. (I have never used iPhone, it would be my first IOS mobile)
I have samsung A34 and I'm thinking the same. I don't know its price in india or if it's still available
I use this exact phone and T-Mobile and I’ve never gotten that Call Failed issue
Came for the “1 wee later” thumbnail. Stayed for the great content.
Hahah 😂
Hmmm considering selling my Fold 4 for a mid spec HMD Skyline..... Nice having a folding giant screen, but I feel its too addictive sometimes. I like phones that are honest. If you know what I mean.
Amazing Video
yeah ive had some calling issues with my SE 2. i don't remember this on iOS 16
buen video, gracias a ti me decidí a comprarlo 🍄
The battery life does suck if ur using the phone for like 4 hours a day. Was decent when it was 100% health but 4 years on and 75% health it’s struggling to get through a day now :(
