Ive done a few of these , love the metal gasket , i was once doing a sill repair, cutting out the rot with a slit disc on a grinder , turned the grinder off , pulled out the rot patch , then leaned over ,10 secs later ,grinder spinning slowly picked the grinder up strait to the wood on me finger , blue roll ,masking tape new glove and cracked on , 3 days later almost healed , now have 30 mm white line on me finger 😂😂😂😂😂
Brilliant video! Im about to do the timing belt on my Megane IV 1.5 dCi Blue later this year. Any 1,5dCi Blue coming in that you could do a video on? They have watercooled charge air and a different number on the tool kit and timing belt kit so it would be interesting to see the difference 😊
Glad your hand is ok…. But, that’s what they made super glue for! Hands and feet bleed lots and makes you worry more than you need to, but as long as it’s clean and you have superglue to hand, you can be back working in 10 mins 👍🏼
Baz, I am 60 years plus mechanic and really enjoy your videos my friend. Reference any wet cambelt engine they are a total design disaster. Rubber and Fibre does not work in oil and degrades the belt hence the problems. I advise anyone thinking of buying a car to avoid a wet cambelt engine. Looking forward to seeing you change a clutch on 6 speed EAT on a Citroen Vehicle plus any electronic setup. 😮
Bought a brand new one in 2021 , it was the worst car iv ever driven . Steering was so dangerous and the dealer didn't have a clue . Sold it on to dacia retail after 5 months and was glad to see the back of it .
Top job baz and you aren't the only one that has done that on them metal gaskets iv cut my fingers before on them pretty deep but like you say acdents happen hope you are OK 👍
Had a good laugh when you said “working gurn” have you also noticed everyone has a hammer face when they’re braying 7 bells out of something with a big lump hammer
I think your workmate doing a wind up using the air tool when you start recording. He's standing smiling behind the wheel. 😀 Worst injury I got when removing drums on the back of an Astra. Caught my fingers behind the drum after replacing the shoes. Blood everywhere and at A & E a junior doc plunged my fingers into iodine. Hit the roof. 🤐
Just looking at my 70 yo mits and evaluating war wounds, amazing how you remember how they all happened. Great video as per Baz, really enjoy your content👍
I don't think I ever do a job whether its gardening, DIY or car servicing and I don't injure myself. Dropped a caliper carrier on my finger, the nail went black immediately, painting the garden fence, 1/2 splinter down thumbnail, cut insulation off cctv wire and sliced my thumbnail off diwn ti the flesh. All in the past month. Im a right clumsy twart.
I think the timing belt cover was a warning to you mate as it has “999” written on it…..or more ominously is it “666”!!!! Hope you healed ok. Love your channel. Keep the vids coming👍
Have you had many of these that the camshaft timing is half a tooth out and if you correct it, it make a horrendous rattle so you have you keep it half a tooth out
A cut my pinky moving a toolbox and just done my usual taped it up and carried on wasn’t till a got home and gave it a proper run under the tap all you seen was the pure white of the bone 😂😂
I remember getting my pinky finger caught inbetween a weight hammer when trying to remove steel weights on a rim once... absolute agony and my nail ended up coming off later on...
Hi Baz, great work and advise. My son has a 2011 1400 Corsa d and keeps showing timing error "P0335 crankshaft position, sensor error. and P0011 Timing cam over advanced or system performance ban. We have changed the sensor but the problem remains. It drives well for a couple of days then stalls and becomes hard to start, but will then run well again. I beleive there is a vvt valve and ocv filter that may be a cause if intermitant failure. Your thoughts please.
I have on a 16 valve petrol clio , after doing a belt kit , not even gunned up tight I had to centre punch the new bolt out , put the old one back in no problem 😂

Smacked up knuckles ,crushed or cut digits bruised napper all part of the job.keep up the good work baz.
Top job , as ever Baz. Hope you can still pick up a well deserved pint with the damaged hand 😁
Those metal gaskets are lethal. Had a few cuts over the years from them. Hope your hand heals up well.

How long did you have to wait in A&E? (I dread to think) Lol
Hi Baz, great videos, can you explain how you did or do the 90dgree after toque please. Have you ever done any Freelander2 timing belts?
Had a good laugh when you said “working gurn” have you also noticed everyone has a hammer face when they’re braying 7 bells out of something with a big lump hammer

Great video , has the car lived in a swamp ? rusty for a 2017 car
Great job, bad luck with the mishap. Do you know the torque setting for the auxiliary belt tensioner on these please?

Worst I've had is spinning a mini rear wheel with 12 inch wheels on and smashing my fingers to bits on the subframe 🤢🤢🤢

Not bad enough for hospital luckily

What garage do you work at baz? Would you do timing chains on an Audi a6 v6?
Did exact same thing last week on a renault kangoo
How did you get the plastic water pump cover off as it runs behind the fuel pump
My wife has 1. Nothing but problems.
Heard they are pretty reliable. Have you tried replacing the wife, replace it with a younger model, usually does the trick.
Brilliant , still laughing
900 tce is trouble 1.5 dci is great

Man you should have saves the nhs the bill, and just used superglue 😂.
how do you start the car without pressing the clutch pedal?
Don't know buddy it just started, might not have that function
Crazy idea to use a metal water pump gasket isn’t it.
Do you rate these cars?
I remember getting my pinky finger caught inbetween a weight hammer when trying to remove steel weights on a rim once... absolute agony and my nail ended up coming off later on...
Just a bit of glue, mate you would’ve been fine
I tried to peel that same gasket off and pulled it and went straight across my digit filled my glove up 😢
Can you send me a link for launch plz
