Thanks for the video demo! I've had my eye on this jack (and the other cheaper one) at Harbor Freight to lift my VStar. Do you ever let your bike sit on this for an extended period of time? I leave my bike sitting in the garage over the winter, and I'd like to lift the tires up to keep them from sitting in the same position, so I'm just wondering if this would be appropriate for that (and I could pull it out a little with the wheels and start the bike up every now and then).
My jack is an older one with a pin locking device. But other people I know have the 3 position ratchet lock. And they really like it they do not use my stabilizer . you might abilized alright , have seen on other videos that it only works all the way up.There's another video on that red adapter I made for the jack to fit the Yamaha better. It's crude but it was made as an answerr to someone else asking for the dimensions. I'm not gonna make a blueprint I don't have cad available. I have never stored any of my bikes on a jack over winner in my garage. But everybody to each there own Check out some of my other videos for other options. Hope this isn't too long a reply but have a good day and have a better
@@davidriegner2967 gotcha, I see that new model now on the HF website, the settings and the locking mechanism do look a little different. I just peeked under my VStar, and I see what you mean about the engine being lower than the frame - yeah, that's a problem with these lifts - great idea on the adapter, that thing looks awesome! I keep my bike on the HF dolly when it's going to be up for a while (and if I recall, you have a great video out there that you shared in the Yamaha FB group).
David - nice videos...thanks! I'd like to communicate with you to get dimensions/and a bit of further information. I don't see your contact information anywhere. Is there a way to contact you?
