Nice modifications I just bought this jack and I would have purchased that stabilizer if they sold it , you should sell a kit , I'd pay 50 bucks for it , thanks for the video 👍
Impressive. I have owned a J&S Jack for many years. Bought used heavily discounted for a great price but no longer need a heavy jack that weighs 100 lbs. No question the J&S jack us ultra heavy duty, stable and impressive. I sold the last Harley two days ago and am down to two KTM's that are featherweights in comparison and dragging and storing the JS jack is cumbersome. Your stabilizer arms with this lighter HF alu jack could be in my future:)
That stabilizer set up is awesome!!!. Just bought the same Jack and I’m going to do that to mine. Also the bar on the handle is a good idea, makes it easier for a small increment lowering of the bike. 😁
I'm originally from Pittsburgh also. Watching these various jacks, I sometimes wonder if it would be better to just use them as a lift to put the bike on three heavy stools (one for each each tire and one for the kickstand.
Glad you liked it. I do make those stabilizers and sell them for 50 bucks including shipping. I have many more interesting videos on motorcycle maintenance.
Those are some significant improvements to that jack. You definitely took that jack from a 70 to 100. Thank you for sharing this. Do your mods work on the most recent version of the HF Lift? Be well, JB.
I can make you 1 for 60 bucks that's $40 in materials alone but I would greatly appreciate a true exact measurement from the axle up to the the bottom of the L bracket on top back of the jack top to make sure it fits.
Made from aluminum 1/4 by 4" by 18" . 7/8 slot, 30゚ Cut to the 90゚ cut. Send me your email address and I can send you a picture I cannot send pictures through TH-cam. I live North of Pittsburgh where you at in western PA
Max height of Jack is 17" with no lock, 13" using the ratchet stop. My stop is only for Max height, To make it a just fool would be probably another 20 bucks
I wonder if a simple adjustable jack stand, place under the lifting platform would result is added stability....and thus eliminate the need for modifications.
@@spacecoastz4026 My Jack is an older version with the 5/8 locking pin through the lifting arm. My new thought is a piece of 1" angle arm fits between the lower frame and a piece of angle iron fits on to the lifting platform and pieces of rebar welded between. Or maybe you can send me the dimension between the platform and the axle

Excellent mod on the stabilizer arms 👍
Great safety tips! A wise man once told me to always respect springs and hydraulics....a tip I’ve never forgotten!
I like the idea of the additional support braces and would like some information on them. Thank you for sharing
I make and sell the stabilizers
Genius idea brother!! Thanks for the share!!
You going to make one? If so I use piece of all thread as a spacer above the axle between the frames.

I see no reason why they would not but I have not had a chance to compare 1 on 1.
But I do make the the stabilizer stabilizer and sell them for 60 bucks if you're interested. That's $40 in material alone to make them.
@@davidriegner2967 how do I order one of your stabilizers?

Excelent video. Could you tell me what size your bike wheel are?
They are stock wheels off of I believe 85 86 87 Suzuki Intruder 800. Is 15 on rear 19 on front.

It may still rock side to side on the Jack stand. I'm working on a simpler design costs is gonna be to me about $30
@@davidriegner2967 When can I see that? Just purchased the jack...and yeah my 700 lb bike does sway when lifted.

@@davidriegner2967 Not sure what dimension you need....the axle vs platform would depend on how high you lift...right?
Did you try the adjustable Jack and did it work. I assume that's a scissors Jack
