@@pamelacarrieri2162 No, not that different….it’s often a difference in color with dark low notes, but mezzos can share the top range quite easily. Check out Tatiana Troyanos, Jessye Norman, Janet Baker, to name just a few. I am also a mezzo.
Great material. I think the only real mezzo in the competition. But she lack deepness in the voice. a clue, she holds the tip of the tongue behind the teeth. BAAAANG, wrong. Not critizing her just pointing that out. Not a solid Fondation of the voice to sing this. Her head voice collapeses, it's not strong or coordinated enough with low register.
She is undoubtly interesting! But too young to sing Ulrica. Even Azucena would be too much. But if her voice is taken care of she will be the real deal in this roles in the future.
I don't think they wouldn't cast as Zerlina or Cherubino, they might cast her as Marcellina or Donna Elvira. The female roles that are still rich but can be casted to her at her young age without vocally taxing her voice such as this aria from Ulrica.
First of all: She is a Soprano, a Verdi Soprano needs chest voice as well...her register change tells what her voice is. And: Azucena is much harder to sing than Ulrica. But indeed: Interesting voice.
Why would Ulrica need to be an old woman? I've seen young Ulricas before. And Azucena is younger than tradition makes her - the backstory happened 15 years earlier and she was a young mother back then. So she's probably in her mid-late 30s! (And... yeah, that would make Manrico, who was a baby/toddler back then, about 16-17.)
@@akechijubeimitsuhide ulrica's age does not matter. Singer's age matters. Her development, her readiness to sing such a hard role. Opera is not a film where 16 years old girl is performed by a 16 years old actress.
Beautiful voice and solid technique!!👏 She sings in the old opera style of singing. All registers with full Voice!
Dear me! South African young singers are taking over, such talent! Horne reborn! Brava!
Umm......Ms. Horne never sang Ulrica.
obviously! What's your point?
Then why would you write "Horne reborn" if you KNOW she never performed the dramatic Verdian mezzo-soprano roles?
So the Verdian mezzo-soprano roles are the only element by which one can compare Horne?
Brava! Big, rich, expressive voice!
Very solid and interesting voice used to great effect! She's got a real mezzo voice, with easy and colorful lower register. I liked her singing a lot.
Homoclassicus 65
She’s nasal, though.
Sounds like a soprano to me, not a mezzo.
Yes genuine mezzo voice. At times her voice reminds me somewhat of the great Simionato. Excellent singer.
Standing ovation to this queen who was born to sing this role and piece 💕💐✨
Gran voce pastosa molto bel timbro...bello bello
WOW ! What a VOICE ! Hope she will have a big and fruitful career !
Glorious voice with a great future ahead
thats my sister!!! horne reborn...couldnt say it better!!!!!!!!! most solid voice in the universe. upwards and onwards!! xxx
Horne reborn is not a good thing...
Marilyn Horne is still alive =P
@@jasonblack4208 Horne sings nasal, but this wonderful young girl sings with old school technique, which I prefer
Gran bella voce,le auguro una lunga carriera👏👏👏👏🎶🎶🎵
Excellent voice, I would love to see this women in the full opera.
I just did - she was excellent!

You are just way too amazing 👏
You made me love sopranos
Yes, but she is not a Soprano, is a mezzo soprano which is completely different

Bongiwe where is your home in EC...coz the Nakanis I know are from Qumbu and one who taught me in Unitra Miss P.Nakani was/is from Qumbu...14/7/2024
quite well done Verdi witches character roles simple ... if you get a lot of make-up to look the parts you will likely pursue congrats
very dark, expressive mezzo voice, really in my opinion she can reach the level of horne and stignani
But not Obratsova...

a good contralto

A voice full of tensions. That poor tongue of hers...
