The editing at the beginning of the key analysis is so funny, in general the editing in your videos has gotten so great! Good job on the video. And thank you for subtitles!
Hmm, for awhile now, I think the music production maybe leaning more into the storytelling (granted I haven't watched the new video interview with aespa's producers). In Black Mamba, the conflict was clear, it was aespa vs the Black Mamba, hence the straightforward production when it came to their debut music. In Next Level, we see them going to Kwangya, another world, as stated in the SMCU Episode 1 towards the end, hence the otherworldly direction change after the "beat drop", with some inclusion of how they feel and how they are able to go to the "Next Level" thanks to Naevis hence the video game aspect and the post-chorus prior to the bridge. This is then reiterated in Savage- giving thanks to Naevis' sacrifice and now they're in Kwangya, a place that is chaos itself. Aespa supposedly beats the Black Mamba, but, as mentioned before, it is a hallucination quest. So have they actually beat it? Hence the unsettling ending. I don't know, just food for thought. Maybe I went nuts thinking about their upcoming, yet seemingly never coming, comeback too much.

watching this made me realize how much i've already got used to the song.. also brings back that feeling of confusion i had when i listened the song for the first time
In short: I vote F# minor for the first two choruses, B minor for the bridge, G# minor for the final chorus. Somewhat longer version, but still shortened: So I agree with Cloud that the bass is not clear at all, what pushes my ear in a direction is the sounds above. Chorus: The instrumental, especially the "marimba-sound", sits more in G# minor, but the sung "gimme gimme now" drops it firmly into F# minor for me. That may be a question of how loud which part is, but I feel like the vocals are what catches all the attention, and the "marimba-sounds" just add color. Bridge: Well, that is probably something rather subjective, but I can't possibly hear it in D major. When I play along on an instrument and close off the bridge with a cadence to D it feels weird. So B minor for me, even though the F# is only minor. Pop doesn't need leading tones. XD Final chorus: Oh boiii... So the instrumental doesn't really change from chorus 2, so it still sits more in G#m. Then there is still the "gimme gimme now" which pushes me towards F#m. But the high descant line is so strong, and the notes they chose clearly imply G#m to me. For me the F# in the end feels unstable because it wants to resolve up to a G#, like a minor 7 to 1. Again, when I play along and just try a chord after the final note, I personally need the G#m. The most "problematic" note is the A, and during the final chorus I feel the key shift a bit depending on what I listen to, but the final bar is very firmly G#m for me. I find it fascinating how different people are hearing this. Cool stuff!
Aaaaahhhhh the reaction Ive been waiting for. As a musician too, I still dont know wtf and how tf Savage was made its just freaking UAWENFA mindboggling

SOPHIE would be sooo proud if she’d heard this for sure😭
Finallllly!!!!!!!!
Edit: Loved how everyone was lost in the final chorus. It really was like you were just teleported into Kwangya lol
I love watching reacttotheK cus I don't understand half of the video but I just love watching all of you nerding out musically over my favorite songs
Ning Ning’s and Winter’s vocals are so crispy
7:24 ok now that makes so much sense! I always thought its sounds like SM classic sounds but its also different but it sounds like certain group. You conclude it so well 😂👏
as expected your edit always on point umu 🤣👍
thank you so much for this reaction, i know there are many things that will interested you guys as a classical musician!!! and also thank you for your hard work for this channel, will always support 🖤🖤🖤
Winter's Growl Yes. Also Giselle's harmony on the pre-chorus :)
I just finished watching your reactions to next level and I'm so excited to see their reaction for savage! finally!
I love this song so much, and I love that they were struggling finding that particular key. Savage is chaotic in the most savage way.
The editing at the beginning of the key analysis is so funny, in general the editing in your videos has gotten so great! Good job on the video. And thank you for subtitles!
Yeaaah I've been waiting sooo much these kind of reaction videos !!!
I'm SM Stan for things like this. Is so we'll building and new. I love that chaotic music. That's a full journey in just one music.
this is the reason why I love SM music
"I'm just scared" "where are we?" "Where is she?" and "WHAT?" same guys same!!!! At almost the end I was like "hey gurls calm down, we don't need to have HIGH NOTE battle here, relax guys!" HAHAHAHHA and I'm so mind blown. Hahahahah
I just want to commend all the effort it took to edit this video to be cohesive!!! I don't have any idea what you are all talking about but i sat through the whole thing with so much interest. Thank you so much to all of you for sharing your reactions and analysis. Just... mad respect to everyone in your team.
What does it say about me, that the first time I heard this song my first thought during the last section was 'oh okay i see having a tonal center was just a passing suggestion huh' and then the second immediate thought was 'at least Umu and gang will be able to figure it out...right??? Right?????' 👁👄👁
😂😂😭😭
I appreciate the musical technicalities you guys talk about, it makes me enjoy the song more (which I initially thought was disjointed and chaotic lol).
5:22 I'm happy to see their reaction in that part
5:37 I've seen the MV over and over again, but when I saw it again in the reaction section for some reason I got goosebumps. Even I repeat here up to two times but still got goosebumps.
9:40 they are confused to determine the key and also like giving up looking for the key.
Watched the whole video you guys are so interesting to listen to. Even when I'm clueless half the time I just... Love learning and listening
as much as i look forward to all the reaction videos, its really fun seeing their faces and reactions especially stephanie! she's just so entertaining
After waiting precisely 50 years for this video, I can finally state that IT WAS *SO* WORTH THE WAIT!!!!! All the reactions were so priceless omg 😩😩😩 Best reaction on this channel hands down
Bruh y'all had me dying with the level of confusion y'all had towards the end 🤣🤣🤣 I love y'all so much
lmaoooo the edit makes it funnier!! i love u guys!! my respect for the editor behind this channel
watching this made me realize how much i've already got used to the song.. also brings back that feeling of confusion i had when i listened the song for the first time
I am having a fever dream 😂 i thought they already reacted to this 😂
same 😭
In short: I vote F# minor for the first two choruses, B minor for the bridge, G# minor for the final chorus.
Somewhat longer version, but still shortened:
So I agree with Cloud that the bass is not clear at all, what pushes my ear in a direction is the sounds above.
XD
Final chorus: Oh boiii...
Cool stuff!
i've waited few months for this reaction!! so glad it's finally heree
Aespa songs have one of the best instrumentals..especially savage 😭🔥
Honestly this was funnier than I expected it to be lmao I loved seeing everyone colectively lose their mind during the last chorus lol
have been waiting for this the reaction like forever ~~~thanks again umu
Aaaaahhhhh the reaction Ive been waiting for. As a musician too, I still dont know wtf and how tf Savage was made its just freaking UAWENFA mindboggling
"Where are we?" "Where is she?"
KWANGYA pretty much lmao. Such a fun reaction vid
Watching musicians geek over things they love is my new hobby I guess😂😂
The fact they all went “where are we?” At the part where I heard NOTHING…
Y’all are geniuses
7:55 YES! cmiiw but producer yoo young jin is the one who producing 'what is love' too, fyi, both D.O (exo) and winter (aespa) are called yoo young jin's children because their high note(?)'s vibe is similar to him (i don't know what to call it)
HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS MASTERPIECE!!!
I love how Raffi always gets scared when listening to aespa 😂 Me too raffi, me too. I never understand a thing, I just try to get through it 😂😂😂
“Where are we” “where is she” KWANGYA BÆ
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE!!! TURN IT UP
Jason's 'Where did that go? Where are we? Where is she??' and the overall united confusion for Ningning's highnote had me absolutely cackling lmao
