      Keep doing these videos man; but I'd like to see how you speak about NMIXX because I know that they haven't had a single tilte track that has impacted the general public, i think it is because the songs can feel empty and not fulfilling although their most loved song is "Run For Roses" which focuses on the girls' vocal skills but I'd like to see you speaking about NMIXX, I'm making videos about them too to see what has failed or not but I do it more in terms of marketing since I don't know that much about music technicism nor how to produce music.

    one thing aespa will do distinctively is create unique layering techniques with vocals. Whether it's chanting "hey" in the background, adding doubles, whispering, or creating harmonies, aespa utilizes these techniques to stand out. Notably, Drama has a very interesting harmonic breakdown as with Savage which overall creates a complex and captivating genre of sound!

    the thing with most 4th gen girl group hit songs (love dive, tomboy, supershy, wannabe, etc.) is that the songs are inevitably catchy but it doesn't matter who performs them... the music is pretty good of course, but it's interchangeable and any group could probably get a decent hit with them. whereas with aespa, they are the only ones who can pull off the songs they do, let alone make hits out of them. let's face it, any other group would look a fool trying to do savage or armageddon. aespa are simply built different, and they don't chase trends - they make them.

    • @darao.4907
      @darao.4907 16 วันที่ผ่านมา +52

      i disagree i think each one of those hit songs are very tailored to the groups that sung them. ive would not be able to capture the same bratty energy and high intensity choreo that made wannabe work so well, gidle wouldn’t be suited for the softer more youthful tone that super shy is like njs, ect

    • @takemeto2004
      @takemeto2004 16 วันที่ผ่านมา +33

      @@darao.4907 lol obviously the production and arrangement would be tailored to the vibe and image each group is going for. but the bare bones of the song remains the same. add a drum n bass beat to love dive and it could easily be newjeans. make wannabe more rap focused and gidle could sing it

    • @45PallMall
      @45PallMall 13 วันที่ผ่านมา +6

      Hard disagree. Being a kpop "idol" itself is good acting, dancing, singing... sure it's not a skill the average person would have, but there are still thousands of them that can pull it off. The rest is just styling and choreography. What makes kpop groups unique are the people actually composing the music, and only them. Even vocally, Aespa are not in a class of their own, and could be replaced with the next pretty thing that can dance and carry a tune. Just being real.

  • @nightricemedia

    When Aespa drops music it feels like sequels to movies instead of just songs. The attention to detail and workmanship make their music strictly theirs’ and you’ll never confuse it for any other K-Pop group’s. Their unique choreography, outfits, & branding to go with their music is the cherry on top. There are many of us who came into K-Pop from a rap/hip hop background; many other genres/girl groups are abit foriegn to us but Aespa’s emphasis on beats really appeals to us.

    Thanks so much for the musical breakdown. aespa's songs - and their B-sides are killer, too! - are usually tops in my driving playlists. Related point: I remember the unexpected six-month or-so hiatus period, I think before Drama dropped, when on-line essays were ready to consider aespa a failed group. Then the ladies had a BTS video in a park - maybe in Los Angles, I'm not sure - where they were enjoying talking about being in a group and how they were getting ready. I felt the humanity in them. Almost like an Olympic athlete's BTS before the Games. Anyway, then Drama dropped. And now, 2024. How far they've come since that hiatus period! Gold medalist for sure!

      but as an EDM fan, both mainstream and underground, it is nothing new, they are sounds that have always existed, things that have already been heard
      Without going too far, Aespa - Whiplash sounds like Tunel Vision or No Good by Don Diablo, for example. That does not mean that it is bad.
      In the Kpop industry, they are a very unique and very good group, they have a lot of merit, but even more so the producers behind the group.

    aespa's songs across 2023 - 2024 have been absolute fire. every song released instantly becomes a Kpop classic. masterpiece after masterpiece after masterpiece, and all were chart hits. no one is doing it like them now
    (newjeans is very very close, though aespa's releases were definitely more viral this year)

    • @sarangfied
      @sarangfied 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      NewJeans and aespa are the same level, NewJeans have been viral and dropping hits since debut but they are in a slight inconvenience cus of all the things happening, infact still they are the most streamed gg this year despite the fuss, aespa definitely owned 2023-2024 tho and I'm sure they will continue to, SM just didn't know what worked best for them at first

    Amazing technical analysis of Aespa and SM producers. I love how you show examples on top of the actual song layers 🙏🏽🔥💓
    Just got back into the international asian pop scene.. haven't checked anything Kpop or GGG out since gen 1/2. What I've seen so far is a nostalgic embrace as a millennial growing up in 90's-2000's. So appreciated 😊😊😊
    I would be interested if you can do a breakdown of diff K/C/JPop/AsianPop producers. I notice the sound between groups can be similar. Are there only so many ppl each company can work with?
    I'm extremely interested on your take of the GGG XG and their team of producers. Their variety of songs is astounding and as shocking/addictive as Aeapa's. Those are my two fav GG next to Mamamoo, baby monster, gidle, newjeanz, and kiss of life.
    Looking forward to seeing what you create! 🙏🏽🌟🐺🔥😊

    That video was just incredible, this explained SOOO WELL how good their music is with FACTS. I'd loveee to see the same for ITZY's discography, especially their debut style with DALLA DALLA, ICY, WANNABE who were really ahead of their time and really complex... And how their unique sound identity has been slowly dissapearing with the new releases 🥹🥺
