+marth G No, it doesn't click again. It tries to search up the word you're force clicking on, but since there is no word the secondary click doesn't do anything.

Hi! I have a few important questions about the trackpad and I'll really appreciate if you answer:
1. Does Magic Trackpad 2 respond as quick as the MacBook trackpad? I mean the input latency, i.e. the time between you move a finger and the cursor moves on the screen. The latency is noticable on Magic Trackpad 1 and it feels stiff comparing to a MacBook trackpad so I consider an upgrade. I'd be very thankful if you measure the latency.
2. Does Magic Trackpad 2 perform multitouch gestures (e.g. scrolling a webpage) as smooth as the MacBook trackpad? The 1st generation has issues with this too.
3. How well does the trackpad battery feel after a long time? E.g. how much can the trackpad work on a single charge after 1 year of usage compared to the initial condition?
To make the long story short, do you notice any difference or inconvenience while using Magic Trackpad 2 compared to the MacBook trackpad?

Great review, I've watched it a couple times because I'm in the market for a new mac, will be ordering in a week or so, and I'm really excited for the trackpad. I'll be doing a lot of video editing. Would you recommend a mouse or trackpad? I'm coming from a macbook pro 15" retina which is starting to struggle with it's 16gb of RAM. I'll be buying the base 8gb and upgrading the 27" myself. :0)
I'd go with the trackpad.
+The Scran Line Definitely get the track pad. The magic mouse is a total waste of money. If you're going to spend that kind of money on a mouse, get the MX master. It actually has extra functionality for the price, and you can charge it while you use it.

Are they releasing some way to connect the keyboard and trackpad, like the Twelve South Magic Wand? That is a must have for me. I'll stick with the old set for awhile anyways since batteries last me months at a time and I don't see much benefit other than the tactile feedback, if that is your thing.
I'm so glad that I found this video, because I have bought both the keyboard and trackpad and was puzzled. Not much with the keyboard. Keyboard is good. It needs less pressure to type on which is something to get used to but it's positive thing in long run as finger strain goes. But the trackpad. It got me really stressed. I unpacked it, I loved it, it's big and how many things it can do, the haptic feedback and force click was wow. But then it came. It's big, nice but it's big. Where should I rest my hand. Resting fingers on the surface immediatelly clicked it I didn't know what to do. I was holding all fingers up all the time I started getting strain. I tried different positions around the trackpad even using it with my other hand (interesting to do sometimes). I was getting strain whatever I did. I made company I work for pay so much for this and what am I gonna tell them now, that it's unusable? I was constantly searching for mouse. So I googled trackpad + palm position and found this video. The click firmness can be set up!!! Setting click to Firm solved the problem. Suddenly I can rest my fingers on trackpad and everything is ok. I don't even have to lift all fingers to do what I need. If I want to for example scroll, I leave all fingers on the trackpad. Lift only those 2 fingers that I want to do the gesture with and I can scroll. The device was pain in the hand. Setting it to firm made it really magical and the device that I wanted.
Those shots in cadence with the music was awesome in the beginning.
I honestly like using a 3-finger tap on a word to bring up the definition, which is what is used on the older trackpads better than using force touch.
Hey Jon, possible idea for you - take one of those wireless charging adapters that third party manufacturers made for the iPhone that stick into the phone's lightning port - stick it into the bottom of the mouse and adhere the Qi patch on the bottom of the mouse. This is assuming, of course, the rails on the bottom are high enough that the Qi patch / adapter won't hit the table - and then boom. Wireless-charging-capable mouse.

Holy shit man, haven't watched any of your vids in a couple years. Was a big supporter back in the 10-11. You, SKB and Technobuffalo were some of my fave tech channels i always enjoyed. Your videos are really good. Just moved from PC to the iMac. Never used a Mac before. Ever. This video was super informative and very funny. The Magic Mouse comes factory set with right click off and Grandma slow scrolling setting - made me think iMac was too Star Trekkie for me. Once I figured this out and the odd reverse scrolling I was on my way. Trackpad 2 sounds like a good investment. Why not, I spent $2,100 already. Subscribed and Thumbs Up.

I have always preferred a trackpad to a mouse on a mac because the gestures to swipe around desktops are so much easier. The only time I use a mouse is when I game.( yeah i actually game on my iMac sometimes)

Even if it had the charge port at another location, it currently disconnects when it is plugged in!

how does the new apple keyboard compare to the Logicool k811? I think I've seen the k811 on another of your videos... but what do you think? I really love my K811 cause of the BackLit keyboard (Can't believe Apple forgot that! Cough, Macbook has it, so why not... cough!!)... But also the K811 is also recharable via micro USB. It last me a good couple of weeks of good use. I really don't see where the $99 are going to??
I also added a wireless charging battery adapter to my magic mouse to enable "Wireless Charging" and of course, it became a rechargable Mouse! It is lighter as well. Again, why does the Apple Magic Mouse cost $80?!

Jony Ive: Introducing the Magic Mouse 2. It now has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, and you can charge it by simply plugging it in to the bottom of the mouse.
I was thinking they could have placed the port on the front of the mouse like the trackpad 2 but I guess that just made too much sense.

Will the trackpad work on a (2010) MacBook Pro running Sierra OSsierra? Asking for a friend that’s running a bootleg CS6 illustrator and his track pad is about to die.
