I've heavily tracked a tuned 570S, an MP4-12C and a 600LT, and none of them were inexpensive to maintain a long as I made the right decisions.. For example, I toasted a ceramic rotor and rather than pay McL's $3,300 /each for replacement rotors I switched to Girodisc. The McLarens are gone now, replaced by Cayman S's. (One for me, one for my wife.) They are great cars, but last year I spent about $20,000 on each for suspension upgrades, major services, replace an AC compressor, etc. It's just the price of poker for pushing these cars very hard. Tires and pads and such came to another $36,000...just for 2022. Then add in HPDE costs, etc., and I almost passed out.

Performance First Luxury - Elite Plus. Bought that warranty for my 570S....it was around $8,000 for 4 years 100,000 miles. They did good on repairs but battery is a wear item that's was not included.
There is a module sold by Kevin at Supercar Garage ATL that allows you to use pretty much any battery. It’s about $1,100 plus the battery, but still cheaper than OEM options.
For a car that costs $250k, 5000 isn't too bad.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. There's a lot of filters, but the individual cost wasn't too bad. $140 for supercar oil is very reasonable IMO. The only part that makes me go "yeah, supercar price" is the $1500 pair of brake pads.
This a factory roof scoop car, I’d bet this was more like a $330k MSRP or possibly higher

I like the Mclaren, but I loved your 812 Superfast. Miss seeing that car...and I was not a Ferrari fan at all, but the look, sound and performance of that car was EPIC, and made me appreciate Ferraris. Want to get one of my own.

It’s $1500 labor just for changing rear brake pads? What am I missing? That sounds a lot like the “Corvette tax” to me. That is unless it’s similar to changing the Space Shuttle tiles.

Its a McLaren. I don't think you understand what maintenance charges on luxury cars entail. You think that a 400k+ car maintenance is gonna be similar to a civic? Think how expensive European cars are to buy/maintain; Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mclaren, Bentley, Rolls Royce etc. These cars don't use cheap and inexpensive parts. If they did, they wouldnt be special or luxurious. You'd be able to afford it. Pea brain over here smh.
@@MrQgips This isn’t a luxury car. It’s a supercar. Luxury cars can have acceptable maintainance costs. McLaren, Ferrari, Lamborghini etc have ridiculous maintainance costs. Benz, BMW and similar are way cheaper too maintain because they have middle class owners too and don’t need to rip off people. And yes, they do use normal and cheap parts like all other brands.

@@teslasnek I have a 2017 Honda CRV with a 1.5l turbo 4 cylinder L15BE motor 18.5psi 1.28bar and it only has been in dealership for regular oil change, AWD and CVT transmission fluid change. The L15BE is the best engine
@@Per-MichaelJarnberg Umm... like I said, her car has *NEVER* needed *ANY* maintenance. Never had to take it into service for anything lol. I think that means its motor beats your "best" engine 🤷
@@teslasnek that’s fair enough that your electric motor beats my 1.5t Honda engine which it has very little turbo lag. I find electric motors too quiet for me

Honestly when I saw that it was a "Major Bill" for the maintenance, I was thinking around 20k.. 5k should be expected for those thing's on this type of car.. It's a Supercar/Exotic.. Not American Muscle or Luxury.. Some Luxury cars have that kind of Ticket for maintenance.. I used to complain about the Maintenance on my Infiniti and the Price for OEM parts lol.. A bit of life experience will teach you that being able to "Obtain" is the easy part, but being able to "Maintain" is the Hard part.. As a Man, you should have looked into these thing's before buying the car, especially if you are Budgeting. If you are Budgeting you probably shouldn't be buying the car in the first place lol but I do Understand lol.. I learned all of this in my early 20s by making mistakes and ultimately losing my car because I couldn't maintain it. Once my Water pump went out, it was over.. Paid 10k for the car, put about another 10k into it, fell on hard times and we all know, when it rains.. It very well does pour and sometimes floods 💯😏 be prepared for those times and think ahead 💯 The saying goes "You can't afford something until you can buy ut twice".. In my opinion.. You can't afford something until you can buy it 5 times 🤷🏽.. If I have 200k, I'm not buying a 100k car.. If I have 500k, I MIGHT Consider buying it lol.. Even then I'd probably stay between 50-70k.. Finance lol.. And This is Only if my income is Steady and in a good place 🤷🏽 When you struggle long enough you'll go to almost extreme measures Not to go back there.. Especially not over foolish/childish decisions.. Keep your Overhead Low.. 70/30.. Imo..
Wise words my friend. I'm always curious when creators make all this money just how long will it last because popularity doesn't last forever. I just hope these TH-cam millionaires invest wisely. And a supercar is not an investment its a money trap. Hell I'm just a working guy with an M3 and it's constantly broken with a 3-4k bill on the way at least 2 times a year. I love it but I miss the early 2000s cars like my ws6 where the worst you had to worry about was the constant tire wear.

It's a Key to wealth if you know how to Capitalize off of it but it's always best to have Multiple incomes and Save most your Money.. I'm a Car enthusiast so I understand buying these kind of cars.. why not if you got it.. it's definitely a trap but if it's what you Love, I believe the Experience and Memories are More important than having all this money preparing for a time that may never come but at the same time, You have to be Wise with your Money.. I was only 10/12 and 13 in the early 2000s but I even miss the Early 2010s.. Things were even better then than now.. 3-4k a year on an M3 if it's a Newer Model Doesn't sound bad at all. I have a friend who started out with an AMG, he crashed it, bought another one, blew the motor, then bought an 2010 M5, blew the motor, Then bought an 2010 M6 (That M6 was Crazy lol) he blew the Motor on that and Now he has a 2017 M6 🤦🏾 I guess when you have the Money to blow or Rich parents.. You can do that.. I met him when I had my Infiniti when he had his first AMG.. I blew the motor and couldn't afford to fix it.. I got another Infiniti but by that time he had his first M6 (he bought all those cars within 2 years) lol I flipped my second Infiniti 5 years ago yesterday and been driving Buckets ever since lol.. Learning to budget. I'm not as rich as my friend lol

What’s the price difference between AGX vs dealership?
Careful with the aftermarket vehicle warranties, I bought a car and bought Veritas vehicle warranty, took the car in because of a seat sensor issue that would’ve cost me over $1000 and veritas deny the claim. They stated the sensor is in the seat therefore, it is part of the upholstery. Because my car is a EV I asked customer service if the battery and the battery electronics along with the vehicle motor electronics recovered and they said no.
Long story short read the contract before you buy it .

Ngl if you're gonna buy an exotic car you can barely afford you better be experienced with maintenance. Even lower cost imports can sink people financially when their maintenance costs are quadruple the costs of a similar priced domestic car. Super cars aren't much different.

Look my previous comment about Kevin at Supercar Garage ATL, he sells a module that plugs into any McLaren that allows you to use any battery like a Gravity or similar lithium batteries for less than half of any OEM option. It will have no issues or codes.

No battery costs that much. Even one of those Optima Batteries are probably no more than $500 for any car. Even with labor at maybe 100-200/hr, changing the battery should take less than an hour
The warranty may not cover the car if it breaks something while you’re driving it on track
With McLaren as long as you do a track day pre and post inspection they will cover it. But it had to be done by a McLaren dealer.

That's a very good point. My buddies GTR black warranty stated that he gets one line lock use anything after that no more warranty. And believe me these cars know you're on a track via gps and they will narc on you.
