I've been on a 1000 calorie diet for awhile. I feel fine. 18 hour fast. noon i have protein shake with kale, mixed berries, pb2, banana, and protein 350 calories. Dinner I have a 650 calories dinner, which is plenty. I lose less than a pound a day.
@@robmorgan4637 I'm pretty much exactly the same!! I also have an 18 hour fast and only eat around 1000 calories a day. I want to lose 2lb a week, and according to the app that I use, 1200 calories a day is the right amount for that. But I never actually eat that much because I'm never hungry. 🤣 I also workout and feel completely fine. I actually feel better than I did before I started dieting and exercising!
I’ve been eating less than 2,000 calories and doing multiple miles of walking/jogging every day for the past 5 months. I’ve lost 50 pounds. 10 per month.
I ate 1200 calories for over a year lost 115 lbs, I never felt like I was missing out on anything I recently bumped up my calories since I’m working out more!

I eat between 1000 and 1200 calories (yes for weight loss), but I never feel tired or sick or anything, I feel full and satisfied and waaaay beter than when ate more :) EDIT: Wow I didn't expect this much response to my comment lol, notifications are turned off and didn't bother checking again. Update on my weight loss, I don't eat 1000kcal a day anymore more around 1300kcal now. I still track but sometimes I just don't reach 1300 as I'm not in the mood to eat much on some days. As of today 1 Oct (started: 6 Feb) I lost 47lbs, +/- 21kg. Currently weighing at around 127lbs, 57kg. Of course with ups and downs, plateaus, etc. Really happy with my weight loss but still want to lose a bit around 2 to 3 kg. You all can do it!
Jemelle Huygaerts How do you do that, i want to lose weight during quarentine and this seems a lot faster since the gyms are closed. I could do this while Exercising. I’ve tried water fasting but I couldn’t do it lol.
Ur Mom Naomi tracking calories throughout the day is so helpful so you know when you’re meeting you’re goal. It made me more aware of my portions and when I was actually ready to eat vs eating when bored. Hydration helps as well!
I have been doing 1000 kcals a day for almost 4 years now. Most healthy I have ever been, high cholesterol & triglycerides, high blood pressure, and pre-diabetes have disappeared completely as have nagging lower back pain, sleep apnea, and IBS.
I would agree, i eat 800-1200 cal a Day and sometimes when i feel like it i do 2000 cal just to mix it upp lol... Its Great for your health.. Just keep it low on junk and fast carbs, i eat a ton off greens and lean meat

I agree! I've been measuring foods just to get more in touch with how much I'm eating. I'm eating quite healthy, just not as much, and I am actually quite full on 1,000 calories a day.
Wow! I want to loose 30 lbs to get to 115! Been doing this for 2 days only so far, hoping to keep it up until New Years and then I’ll bump it up to 1200 or 1500

How’s it going? I’ve been doing 1000 calories and honestly it’s great! My breakfast is a smoothie, snack is peppers and other veggies and dip, lunch is a kale salad with chicken and other toppings, dinner is salmon and a veggie and tonight it’s shrimp stir fry plus I still can eat another 300 calories!! I tried fasting but I was getting pins and needles in my feet and hands? I hate that starving feeling. On the 1000 calorie diet I am never starving
Been doing this the past 4 days. Eating baked skinless chicken, broccoli, squash, plain oatmeal with a little peanut butter. Im 6'4, started at 257, I'm down to 250. I was drinking a gallon of sweet tea everyday and cut that completely out. Going for about 30 days then will bump up to about 1500 calories per day. Hope to drop about 40 pounds in the next couple months.
I consumed 870 calories today and felt good. Doing it for 10 straight days is a completely different battle haha. You don't need to eat as much food as you think. I also ran 4.7 miles on the elliptical today ! Crushing fat and Rising Above Sugar !
Don't do it! This is just an experiment! If you are 271 lbs then you need to eat more than 1,000 for healthy weight loss or you will just soon fall of the wagon. You gain weight long term, you lose weight long term, no shortcuts.

I work out 1,000 calories 6x weekly and eat 1,400-1,600 cal per day, depending on hunger. I am losing about 1-1.5 lb per week. A lot of people don’t understand the lengths and effort it takes to really meaningfully drop below a set point weight. I am 5’3”, I started at 134lbs now 125 lbs after 6 weeks. If I didn’t work out so intensely I would have to be on intense calorie restriction diet like this, no more than 1,000-1,200 calories. Some people are just metabolically slow and require a greater calorie deficit to lose weight than others!
I am 5'4" and completely understand what you are saying. Many taller men just don't get it because their bodies would lose an insane amount of weight on the same number of calories. My husband 6'3" maintains his 200 pound frame eating 3000 plus calories a day. I gain weight if I go over 1500 calories a day. A big peice of the puzzle that people hardly ever mention has to do with your hormones and optimal hormone function. Testosterone is tremendously helpful to loosing weight and gaining muscle and women just have a small fraction of it compared to what men do.
@@henrik3775it's not a miscalculation, it is what short women have to deal with. Weight loss for men and women is different. Now, if I were your height and age and had the same amount of hormones in my body, I could also expect the higher weight loss.
If you eat mostly vegetables you will find it hard to eat more then 1000. After you get used to eating at low calories the hard part may be how to increase your calories in order to retain weight
A 1,000 cal per day diet with exercise will give me 1.7 pounds per week weightloss. It pushes me into an "avalanche" region where weightloss rate is the highest possible. However, I could never do it while employed (I'm retired now). I've only done it when unemployed and retired when I can sleep and rest during the day when fatigued.
I've been doing 1000 cal for a day followed with intermittent fasting for 11 days now, my waist shrink from 33 inch to 32 inch, i lose about 3kg while eating anything i want and no exercise... I know I should but I'm just have no feeling to do consistently😌
brralalalala, pardon? You can eat more just be consistent. The weight you lose here will be gained back much faster than if you go slower. I say this from experience. I you also won’t feel like shit
ONCE A DAY oh my god that’s insane no comment on how good or bad that is but very impressive I eat just below 1000 calories and I’m low carb so we eat the same just different times crazy!
I’m just starting a weight loss program, aiming for 40-50 lbs 5 feet tall 186 pounds start Currently 177 after 6 days Only following a 1000 calorie, no bread or sweets. Protein bar in the morning, coffee, 64 oz of water a day, lunch is salad and a healthy snack, dinner is chicken/fish and veggie. Vitamin shake every other day. No juice, no soda.
Here’s my story with this diet: (20 year old male 5’10 and 192lbs) I ate 1000-1200calories a day (mainly 1000) for 7 weeks straight. Total weight loss was 28lbs (id say 4-5lbs of water weight). The key to this is to EAT WHAT YOU WANT! I ate pizzas, kebabs, loads of carb loaded breads etc and it did not matter as long as I met the 1000cal goal for the day. Drink diluted juices instead of water all the time so you don’t get sick of the diet. The question everyone wants to know the answer to; do you gain all the weight back once you up your calories? Simple answer... nope. I did in fairness gain the weight back due to demanding job and studies but it took me 6 months of binging on 3-4K calories a day (mainly takeaways sadly). So basically you’d have to really overeat constantly to gain the weight and at the rate I was going, I would have gained weight either way. Started the diet back up again and easy as that, lost all the weight again. Don’t currently have a job due to the quarantine so I won’t be putting it back on anytime soon :)
*Rae* no I didn’t lose hair, probably a little bit of muscle but not anything that I could notice. Muscle building comes when your at a comfortable weight 💪
Ike Greger that’s the logic of caloric deficit but I’d say eating “healthy” will fill you up for longer mainly healthy fats and fibers I’m on a low carb diet and 1000 cal is actually a lot of food in low carb whereas if I ate bread or pasta id reach those calories a lot quicker (ps I love veggies and lean protein so cutting out carbs wasn’t that challenging could sit next to you while you’re munching a pizza and genuinely not even crave it)
Agree, this isn’t sustainable, but a good experiment none the less. I think it would be useful for anyone with a holiday coming up or an event, in which they want to lose weight quickly. I think I’ll give it a go myself.

I have been doing this for around 3 months now at most, I have lost 42 lbs and feel a whole lot better with myself. Before this diet I was most likely eating around about 3,500 calories or more a day, starting at a weight of 110 KG and working my way down to 85 KG so far, I'm planning to lose a little more weight and then start eating the calories I personally need to maintain the same weight. In my experience this hasn't effected anything other than my weight. My muscle growth is the same to as it was when I was on the bigger side, my mood is the same or better than it was before this and I finally fit into all my clothes. I recommend only eating 1,000 - 1,300 calories if you're around 5 feet to 5 feet 8 inches (I am personally 5 feet 8 inches tall) ...If you're on the taller side you may want to eat 1,500 - 1,800 for this to work for you, if you do not want it to be dangerous for you. This diet may not help you if you're eating 1,000 or whatever calories of just junk food though, I normally eat food that is mostly good for me with the odd bit of junk food here and there, I recommend eating stuff like white meats, fish, potato, home-made fajita's, rice, low-fat pasta, yogurts and low calorie breakfast foods such as two slices of toast or Bran Flakes/ Museli (Museli and bran flakes are my personal favourite for breakfast) Ask me any questions in the comments if you're worried or curious about this diet.
I eat 1000 calories per day and workout all day. I stopped running for a week to rest because of my injuries but I went from 145 to 139 in a month and a half. I will continue to eat 1000 calories a day for probably like a year or until I get down to 125 (I’m 5’6) but I honestly feel so much better then when I was in school and completly stressed and ate too many calories

@@thiagogregory1 your body can get to a lowered insulin state for longer and access fat so you don’t feel as hungry. If you spread it out, you will constantly be hungry as your insulin is elevated and your body cannot access fat stores as easily

I’m eating 1000-1200 calories a day and I’m on my third week. At the end of the week I’ll go eat anything I want as long as I’m at a calorie maintenance. I haven’t been hungry or craved if anything my hunger has been going down and I’ve lost 4-5 pounds already. I love it. Obviously this isn’t going to be forever. Just until i go to where I want to be then I’ll be at a calorie maintenance all the time
I see people on here saying that they eat this low and lose weight and then the replies are always asking how to do that, etc. I’m just here to say that that is not the way to do it. keep in mind height, weight, age and gender vary the amount of calories you need but no one should be eating 1000 or even 1200 calories to lose weight, that’s WAY too low. For context I began my weight loss journey on June 11, 2019 where my starting weight was 234.6 lbs at 5’8. I am currently 19 years old and weighed in at 168.2 lbs this morning and I eat 2,300 calories a day (and I’m still trying to lose more weight). I would say I can maintain my weight with 2,700-2,900 calories. I don’t have a “fast” metabolism or great genetics, I just focus on lifting weights daily and building muscle while eating at least 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight. I also try to get in at least 10,000 steps every day and I love to play sports such as basketball or football. Even during the quarantine I am continuing to lose fat and build muscle while eating that much. Once I reach a point where I feel a bit more comfortable I will slowly increase my calories by 100 calories a day every week until my weight levels out and I will try to maintain that for the foreseeable future. I am writing all this to say that if when I first started my weight loss journey I had seen some of these people claiming to only eat 1200 calories a day I would have never even tried to get healthy. I am just telling everyone who loves food like myself that you can lose weight with a lot of food if you take your time and work on building muscle while losing the fat.
coolguy3100 I’m 5’9 190 lbs, I don’t have “a lot” of muscle but I have some, and I’m not crazy active but I play ball and walk the dog and workout. I’ve come to the realization that I need to just reverse diet because my metabolism is damaged. No way I’m gaining weight like that and there’s females eating 2000+ and still able to burn fat. I just gotta slowly repair it over time
@@juchanan9680 chances are your not tracking calories properly, or you are not taking into account long term weight loss. Also, our weight fluctuates from day to day, if you are weighing yourself, find a weekly medium and track that across the months. Unless you're somehow disobeying the laws of thermodynamics you aren't going to be gaining weight on 1800 calories unless youre 5ft and 120lb

@@tharindideabrew1703 Not necessarily. I weight 110 now and I eat 1,500 instead of 1,300 and the weight stayed off. I just increased my workouts and started lifting weights. Once you get to your goal weight just slowly increase your calories by a small amount each week and see how it effects your weight.

I've been eating around 1000-1100 calories a day for a week now, and I went from 51.2 kg to 49.6 kg. I use an app called MyFitnessPal to track my calories, and also to estimate when I'll reach my goal weight if I consistently eat within the limits. So far, I've been sustaining it and it feels renewing for me honestly. I don't know if it's for everyone, because I have only been doing this for a week. My hunger levels are lower, and I don't get cravings as much. I also noticed how I've been eating until satiety, which has been very difficult for me in the past. @@loaf440 Hi! I've been trying to maintain 1000 every day, but realistically, I've been eating at the 1100-1300 range after around 2 weeks straight of eating 1000 - it just wasn't sustainable without feeling incredibly hungry after awhile. Today I hit 48 (48.9 lol), but I've only gotten there through frequent fluctuations in my weight (around 49.5-50kg). This is understandable, because even with the 1000-1200kcal room I gave myself, I occasionally went over 1400 (BED, but it's getting better). I don't think you should reduce your caloric intake - 1200 is still quite low, especially for your height! Rather, try to incorporate short exercises such as walking, or Chloe Ting workouts :)

First time I gained serious belly fat was when I started working in offices. Calorie counting has taught me what a fool I have been to not count. I feel like I never wanna go over 1500 since the past 2 weeks have changed my life and my fuckin abs are popping out everywhere. Im 36 this is the first time ive had a consistent waistline and no belly fat. This is amazing i feel like im getting back my childhood. I eat what I want and it seems to never make me fatter. Simply amazing. I pack sandwich baggies full of cereals chips snacks and digitally scale them to 300, then eat 5 bags at night in an intermittent fast. Sometimes i eat other things subway veggie subs, calzones with spinach but i still do the math and use baggies. It works! Eat what you like and stay slim
Today is my first day on 1k cal/ day. Wish me luck. I skipped breakfast I ate 4 eggs fry in bacon fat. I had 2 slides of bacon 1 cup of spinach. 2 chicken thighs 2 cup broccoli 1 medium apple and 2 tsp of peanut butter.
I started intermittent fasting recently. I went low on calories in the beginning. After about 4 days, I got tired and hungry. I had to up the calories to feel better.
Especially if it’s balanced and you’re getting nutrients. Quality is more important than quantity. One kebab per day can put you at your maintenance level - doesn’t mean it’s healthy
I'm on a 200kcal deficit (should eat 1500, am eating 1300) for a month, it's been good to me, I think I lost around 8 pounds (not much😅), going slow but steady. After a few months on a deficit I'll readapt to my new amount of necessary cals to maintain and consume that for a while so my body can rest and adjust to the weight loss I'll have had so far. I read about how maintaining helps on the long run so thats my plan. Dont restrict too much if you truly wanna keep the weight off! also focus on protein levels, proper hydration and weight lifting (more important than cardio). :)
Anytime you're in a calorie deficit you're gonna burn your own fat as fuel - IF is just an eating strategy that can facilitate dieting for some people, but it's nothing magical or superior. Also, what does growth hormone matter in this case? Even if it were correlated with muscle growth, do you think anyone's gonna build muscle on a 1,000 kcal diet?
No way you will build muscle on a 1000 cal diet what im saying is in intermittent fasting it improves your fat loss hormones which is isulin , growth hormone , cortisol , and estrogen when insulin levels are low your body burns more fat when ya eat through out the day insulin rises so you cant burn fat when growth hormone rises in a fasted state it increases your metabolism the longer you fast the higher your growth hormone goes through the roof while insulin levels are low burning even more fat im not going to sit here and explain why all these hormones help ya body burn more fat efficiently theres a ton of evidence research it
aussiegamerdude Okay thanks for explaining the way you think. I'm gonna stick with regular intervals of eating because it's just what's practical for me. After all, both ways will cause fat loss if at a caloric deficit :).
I’m on day two of under 1,000 calories AND I’m quitting added sugars for good. I’m super tired. I cried way too easily today too 😅 I think I’ll be fine tomorrow but it’s weird how tired I am. I got 8 hours of sleep, did only 5 min of hiit (it was intense) and took a NAP. I shouldn’t be tired :/

I ate that much over Christmas that it felt refreshing. -02/01 Haven't had much of an appetite today so it felt easy -03/01 I felt satisfied with what I ate -04/01 I had cravings for junk food so I ate some small chocolate bars within my calories. But that meant I didn't eat much quantity
Jeez people get so sensitive about low calorie intake these days. There are people who fast for days straight I’m sure eating a bit less for 10 days is fine.
I’m thinking with all the comments that the amount of calories you need to eat really depends on activity level. If you spend most of the day playing video games or at a desk you’ll probably be okay with 1000 calories. If you’re a busy person running around all day , working out and you play sports then ofc 1000 isn’t enough. If you feel good that’s what matters.
Alright so for everyone wondering here’s what I did and in 3 months I Lost 50 Pounds roughly (49.6) and since I am 16 I guess that’s why, but I didn’t really do anything but skate and go to school. So I ate about 1,200-1,400 calories a day on Omad, one of my main meals were 1 1/2 salmon(baked), 1 cup of spinach and carrots and 1 cup of rice and seasoning. I went from 315 Pounds to 265.4 and still going. But what I did notice is that if you stick up more on ur veggies especially the low cals, it gets you full and lasts the day and if you need a fruit I sometimes got an apple or banana. But you can lose weight and this is still going because i still lose around .5 to a pound a day, also one of the key points that I keep to this was I drank at least 6-7 bottles of water a day to keep you full. Also I do believe if you eat healthier rather than eating that certain amount of calories, you will lose more since your body is getting the needed nutrients rather than carbs. But Today I am breaking that Omad fast and going to do a water fast for a week to really help cleanse my system. If you need any more questions comment!

I eat 1000 - 1200 since December 26, now it’s feb 26 I’ve gone from 235 to 212 so far. I’ve had my birthday in between this time and did gain a little back. I absolutely love eating this way. I feel so much better. I admit when I started it, it was a huge challenge but now, I find I have a hard time eating that much. I eat all day long.
I am very inactive as an uber driver. I figured why not started eating 1k calorie's a day since this is about the only way I could actually lose weight by still being inactive. (This is by the way extremely easy for me, probably because Im so inactive physically). Have been losing about 1 pound a day for the last 10 days, and don't plan on stopping for another 10. I don't feel like im deficient in anything. I eat plenty of greens, and fish. And honestly don't feel that hungry at all. I eat twice a day, doesn't matter what or how many calories for each, as long as it adds up to 1k. EVERYBODYS BODY is different. I can easily get away by only eating 1k, but this is because Im so inactive. Try what feels just under ur comfort level with the ammount of calories you eat. I suggest you eat half of what you would normally eat per meal, then wait at least 2 hrs before eating again. I found that by doing this, my desire to eat in general went waaaaaay down. If in 2 hrs you feel like eating again, eat. But you probably won't want to.
I’ve always been knows for having a massive appetite since I was young. Always eating loads and loads and never putting on weight, probably like most teens. I’m 21 now and recently realised I was putting on a lot of fat around the waist and stomach. I’ve decided to cut down to 1300cals a day from my previous 2500-3000. I’ve lasted 2 weeks so far and realised the last couple of days I’m not even missing eating huge amounts or getting fast food every other day. I feel healthy and good. I will probably go up to 1500-1700cals as I know 1300 probably isn’t sustainable long term and I will end up on the other end of the spectrum. But so far so good
1000kcal is easier then you think. Start with instant ramen (around 50 kcal if you pick the righ brand) Lunch sandwich with smoked ham thin slices (200-300 kcal) Dinner. Spinach some air-fried potatoes and chicken breast (600 kcal)
I use a calorie app and slightly modify exercise and watch blood sugar levels, and rarely drop below 1800 calories per day. Your plan is interesting, but if sugar drops below 80 and you get behind the wheel of a car, that could be a liability if anything happened.
I like your video, I do agree that it is not a problem if you consult a doctor for weight loss. 1200 calories a day for an obese person is often recommend with the exception that it is monitored. I do 1200 calories a day but it is well planned with nutritional meals healthy carbs, low saturated fats and portioned control proteins. Most of my meals have lots of low carb veggies.
Good test. I think that you have to keep going with the diet. You would probably stop feeling hungry during the third week of the diet. I'm consuming only 949 calories a day and I'm in my third week. I feel less hungry now. However, I spent three to four weeks overeating before doing this diet, thus I may be less moody due to the extra food that I allowed myself. Congratulations on losing some inches off your waist and some weight!
His problem with this is that he isn’t fat. At my highest I had 200lbs of weight to lose. The energy is there to feel fine all the time. After the first week of doing 1200, my body got use to it. I’m not even hungry most of the time, sometimes I’ll go an entire day one meal a day with no hunger. Sometimes when I do get hungry I just walk or lift weights and by the end of the workout my hunger is gone. It’s remarkably easy now, it was way harder on my 2500 calorie diet juggling what to eat every day and seeing slow to no results. I wouldn’t recommend this to someone who needs to cut 20lbs though. The meal prepping is the only down side it can take me 2hrs to make the 4 meals with ingredients from scratch, beef, brown rice, beans. I have a full time job, family, so between the time to prep and workout time is limited. So I do 4 prepped meals for work days on Sunday then cook fresh or get a 800cal chipotle salad bowl for the weekend. Also take vitamins!
@@morematcha I fast but it’s not really a goal of mine it’s just so I’m not hungry at night and because I have always been a one big meal kind of guy. When you have been hungry a while it becomes very bearable almost not noticeable. Down 95lbs now 😀
1000-1200 to me is super sustainable, it's all about eating low calorie high volume foods. Obviously if you're gonna spend 300 of your calories on nuts you're gonna feel hungry. There are so many low calorie options that are filling out there.
I eat 1200 calories per day sometimes less. It is a bit hard for me since my stomach can't handle so many calories but I eat 3 meals per day including dessert. I do not work out and so far I have lost 3 pounds in 3 days.
I eat 900-1000 calories a day do 2 hours walking and steps and hills and don't lose any weight. My app said I've reached my Protein and fat limit so I can't eat more anyway. I don't eat any carbs, no sugar, no milk, no salt no soda no alcohol nothing. Breakfast - I have tuna Omelette with Pumpkin seeds. No oil no salt Lunch Grilled Chicken no oil Shirazi Salad Half an avocado Dinner Oven baked salmon Salad Snack - 100 calorie very low Carb protein shake sometimes with half a banana 10 glasses of lemon water I can't have carbs I have endomorph body type
Those portions are well over 500 calories each and starches are easily stored as fat. You should have replaced them with more protein, like eggs and veg or a fruit.
I was eating 1100/1300 calorie a day to lose weight but it didn't work. I was also workout for 20m and more a day but nothing happened, since 3/4 days I am eating 900/1100 calorie a day and no workout, and I already lost 1 kg more than I should before, so I keep on this for 1/2 weeks to success my goal Goal :50/51 kg I was 55.5/56 kg I am now : 54.5
This diet isn't healthy and was done for experimental reasons. To answer your question though, yes eating 1000 calories a day will result in more weight loss for an average man as compared to an average woman because the calories a male burns per day is usually more. Note though it's weight loss, NOT fat loss. Eating this few calories will result in loss of muscle and water along with the fat which majority of people don't want to be doing. Recommend searching healthier diets! :)
@@flawz7594 Hey! This is purely my opinion only, you can always do your own research afterwards. For me, keto can be a good diet but I would still categorize it as a "fad diet" meaning people hype it up too much and expectations can be too high. If you stick to it strictly and make sure you do it with the proper research it can be effective. But what I see happening to a lot of the people I know who try keto or any other fad diet, it can tend to lead to the feeling of being able to eat anything as long as it meets the requirement of not having carbohydrates. The diet also gives too much of a negative label on carbs, which I personally enjoy eating and feel are good for you especially if you have hard workouts planned through the week. If you enjoy eating noodles, rice, bread and going keto is too drastic a change that you don't think it can be sustainable, I would suggest looking into other diets you can stick to instead. A 6 month long consistent diet you can keep would beat any 2 month long fad diet you will eventually hate. Just my 2 cents :)
I’ve been trying to eat low cal, I feel great. The only hard thing for me is eating enough calories with healthy food, as my goal is to eat 1,000-1,200 calories a day but healthy food is so filling the most I could eat is 800- 950 calories a day. **so far lost 10 lb trying to do a low cal diet**
I really need to start eating not more than 1000kcal a day. I m only 4’11 and I have been stuck at 123 pounds for the past few months ... I wanna lose more weight and look better
@@divyasrirajyala6517 find your maintenance, go 500 calories under maintenance and no cardio, but if you want to do cardio just go 100 calories under maintenance depending on how much cardio you do
April 10th 2023 just started my 1000 calorie a day diet. I did this back in 2013 and lost 120 pounds in about a year. Well I’m back up to where I don’t wanna be so back at it.
If you exercise with it you need to add more calories depending how much you burn in your workout. This is an extreme extreme cut. To make it more sustainable you should drop 200 cal under your maintenance calories to start.
Eating alot of salad, egg whites, chicken, and substituting carbs for veg makes this very easy. With exercise I went from 180 at 5,7 to my current 160 in a month or so. I havn't felt hungry much at all. I feel great and there's been alot of benefits. More hydrated. Cut alcohol. No heartburn. Better posture and mood. More confident and goal driven mindset. But I'm sure continuing this way of eating would not be good. Cutting for calisthenics (probably 150) to be able to lift my own weight is the goal at the moment. Maintenance calories should be a breeze after.
*Note* Although we appreciate your comments. We don't recommend such a drastically low calorie intake. This was a research challenge that we conducted that concluded in it being unrealistic and potentially dangerous over a long term. Please don't attempt this diet, we did it so you don't have to for educational purposes.
How did this go? I understand you don't reccomend, but im still curious.
I also workout and feel completely fine. I actually feel better than I did before I started dieting and exercising!
It’s well known that people who eat less live longer. It’s healthy to eat this amount.
I’ve been eating less than 2,000 calories and doing multiple miles of walking/jogging every day for the past 5 months. I’ve lost 50 pounds. 10 per month.

Hello I will start this diet today
I wonder how much I may lose
Hi I will start today
Do you want to challenge each other for 10 days
Pretty same with me, infact I divided the 1000 cals into breakfast, snack, lunch, eve snacks, dinner and to the suprise I barely craved for food
As long as you have fat to burn... I mean, a human being needs like 2000 calories, so if you eat only 1000 calories forever you are going to die
4 years is insane, you only have bones left now right?

I agree! I've been measuring foods just to get more in touch with how much I'm eating. I'm eating quite healthy, just not as much, and I am actually quite full on 1,000 calories a day.
BiteLime same. I nibble during the day (fruit, veg, milk) up to 3-400kcal and in the evening have a nice big 600kcal meal. Very filling!

Exactly
The problem with starving too much is you lose muscle mass. So you should work out.
Thats a slow loss for what you burn and eat. Theres a miss calculation. 1000 deficit a day for 7x is about 2 pounds of fat a week

It pushes me into an "avalanche" region where weightloss rate is the highest possible.
However, I could never do it while employed (I'm retired now). I've only done it when unemployed and retired when I can sleep and rest during the day when fatigued.

Was it hard. I need to lose like 20lbs
Here’s my story with this diet: (20 year old male 5’10 and 192lbs)
I ate 1000-1200calories a day (mainly 1000) for 7 weeks straight.
A1 23 well did u lose hair
Or muscle
*Rae* no I didn’t lose hair, probably a little bit of muscle but not anything that I could notice. Muscle building comes when your at a comfortable weight 💪
So you’re saying I can eat what I want just as long as it’s under 1000 a day
Ike Greger that’s the logic of caloric deficit but I’d say eating “healthy” will fill you up for longer mainly healthy fats and fibers I’m on a low carb diet and 1000 cal is actually a lot of food in low carb whereas if I ate bread or pasta id reach those calories a lot quicker (ps I love veggies and lean protein so cutting out carbs wasn’t that challenging could sit next to you while you’re munching a pizza and genuinely not even crave it)
I need 1200 cal a day to lose weight. 30kgs to go. Hopefully before I die
I understanf
If only it was that easy, thirty kg is like killing a malnutritioned human inside of you😉, but you can do it boo, best of luck ❤️
How far are you now?
Agree, this isn’t sustainable, but a good experiment none the less. I think it would be useful for anyone with a holiday coming up or an event, in which they want to lose weight quickly. I think I’ll give it a go myself.
Started at 1500, currently doing 900-1200 and weighed in at 295 in December, and Currently 225 in May. I’m 5’11, and so close to being out of that obese category!
This diet may not help you if you're eating 1,000 or whatever calories of just junk food though, I normally eat food that is mostly good for me with the odd bit of junk food here and there, I recommend eating stuff like white meats, fish, potato, home-made fajita's, rice, low-fat pasta, yogurts and low calorie breakfast foods such as two slices of toast or Bran Flakes/ Museli (Museli and bran flakes are my personal favourite for breakfast)
Ask me any questions in the comments if you're worried or curious about this diet.

Problem is i gain weight at like 1500 cals and I just don’t understand why
Josh Buchanan 1) how tall are you? 2) do you have a lot of muscle 3) are you active daily
coolguy3100 I’m 5’9 190 lbs, I don’t have “a lot” of muscle but I have some, and I’m not crazy active but I play ball and walk the dog and workout. I just gotta slowly repair it over time
@@juchanan9680 chances are your not tracking calories properly, or you are not taking into account long term weight loss. @@tharindideabrew1703 Not necessarily. I weight 110 now and I eat 1,500 instead of 1,300 and the weight stayed off. I just increased my workouts and started lifting weights. On a 1200-1300kcal diet this is what I eat:
Breakfast;
2 pears & 100g strawberries. 1 Muller light yogurt pot. Seems to fill me up or 2 poached eggs on toast
Lunch:
200g cucumber, 50g humus, 120g smoked salmon, slice of seeded bread and 40g dry roasted nuts (morrisons are the best)
Dinner:
Really varies but normally a medium/large sweet potato with a can of tuna and a few tablespoons of light mayo with baked beans or something
Snacks:
Seafood sticks (only 20kcals!!)
Flavoured rice cakes
Plums and apples
Toast
Bananas
Roasted kale.
It does vary but that's what I eat. I do not drink enough either so yeah...

I eat 1000cal a day right now, i am a month in i lost 18 pounds so far! i still have 90 pounds more to go, ill keep you guys updated!! we got this
I've been eating around 1000-1100 calories a day for a week now, and I went from 51.2 kg to 49.6 kg. I think between 1000-1200 calories is enough for me, because I am 5'2, and only walk for exercise. I'm going to continue doing this for a month, to be down to 47-48 kg. Super curious, and maybe I'll do an update if I'm successful!

Pls continue to update! I've been on a 1200 cal diet for 8 months now and as a 5'4 girl I weigh 50kg which is such a huge difference from when I first started (I weighed 58 - 59kg). I'm starting to only eat 1000 cal but Idk what / if complications can occur.

It works! Eat what you like and stay slim
wow thats actually alot i will try it out.
It’s not the latest scientific evidence. The evidence says it’s healthy. It’s old fashioned to think 1000 calories is dangerous.
It would of been alot more bearable if ya did it with intermittent fasting you just eating 4 hours after you wake up youd loose more weight too
Maybe more bearable depending on the person, but you probably won't be burning any more fat than if you were to distribute them evenly
Yeah ya would because while fasting ya growth hormone goes up and your body starts burning its own fat for fuel

But so far so good
I weight 69.8 kg by now. I try to get to 60 kg again. Will try this for a week know. I will write my results on the weekend :)
Hey did it work😃
What are the results?
1000kcal is easier then you think.
Start with instant ramen (around 50 kcal if you pick the righ brand)
Lunch sandwich with smoked ham thin slices (200-300 kcal)
Dinner.

Those portions are well over 500 calories each and starches are easily stored as fat. You should have replaced them with more protein, like eggs and veg or a fruit.
I was eating 1100/1300 calorie a day to lose weight but it didn't work. I was also workout for 20m and more a day but nothing happened, since 3/4 days I am eating 900/1100 calorie a day and no workout, and I already lost 1 kg more than I should before, so I keep on this for 1/2 weeks to success my goal

Because men are recommended more calories than women, would this diet would be more effective for men and less effective for women?
This diet isn't healthy and was done for experimental reasons. To answer your question though, yes eating 1000 calories a day will result in more weight loss for an average man as compared to an average woman because the calories a male burns per day is usually more. Note though it's weight loss, NOT fat loss. Eating this few calories will result in loss of muscle and water along with the fat which majority of people don't want to be doing. Recommend searching healthier diets! :)
Xenon Su would you say keto is a good diet I started it recently?
Hardly a challenge is it I typically eat between 800 to 1000 a day and looking at the comments so to most lol 😂👍
Would you need to exercise as well to lose weight with this?
If you exercise with it you need to add more calories depending how much you burn in your workout. This is an extreme extreme cut. To make it more sustainable you should drop 200 cal under your maintenance calories to start.
are you from liverpool? sounds like it - at least nearby - i miss it there. thank you for uploading this, though. interesting thing to see conducted!
I eat 1000calories a day every single day how is this not healthy it’s fine
Curious how this would go if you basically used lean protein to hit like 140 grams per day. Casein, chicken breast, lean steak etc..
Been doing this for a month 10 pounds loss
this really does work and I recommend to do this or just eat low portions. worth it completely
How to get dangerously underweight. Trust me I’ve been doing this and lost 83 lbs I’m only 110 now...
How long ?
Jealous
Cuz you ain't doing it right 🤷🏽♀️, another note, what works for some people doesn't work for others.
Wait .. what are his results again ???
I'm at my 50th day of 900 calorie diet..I have lost 4 inches of waist, around 16kg
Did you exercise as well?
Just running 3 days a week..1 hour per day
Eating alot of salad, egg whites, chicken, and substituting carbs for veg makes this very easy.
Maintenance calories should be a breeze after.
been having 1000 calories for like months and months now. i feel fine. i feel slender and sexy
