Did you measure and adjust the gap between the valves and the camshaft? Not tryna nitpick anything but I have never seen one engine build where they did that. I am not an expert, but when I did my engine I had to take off the camshaft like more than once to adjust every gap. Never the less, you did an amazing job :D
Notting wrong to say about that engine work ,you somthing importert many not doing , check the oilpresure before the engine Been back in the var 💪💪💪💪💪😁
Real question. I got lh 2.4 steering boxes. Would it be possible to drop the ignition box into my 88 240 with lh 2,2? I got trigger flywheel and everything else as well.
@@tentshedtrev6596 |LOL| good luck, it so good to build new powered engine, this is so great to see how it burn and work... i repair Volvo 940 (only) for last 20 years and still love this car and this job. i made 240 hp engines with all stock components (ECU, turbo, crank`n`pistons) - just made headporting (531head with vx3 cam) and a little overboost (like 0,9-1bar pressure). my son`n 940 car have a 2,5l 16valve B230GK engine and 370hp with 1,1bar boost, this is beast... sorry for my bad english, i`m from Russia /Moscow/
Thats just some Permatex HiTack gasket sealant. Best way to stop older paper-gasket style engine designs from leaking. FYI tho, it makes removing parts and cleaning the old gasket an absolute nightmare the next time it comes apart!
@@danjones2913 have you used both maybe in the past and found one worked better maybe? ( I did a fair bit of work on Volvo Penta heads as an apprentice - back quite a few decades ago now..😁) kind regards Dan.
Always keep learning.. never seen those 'shims' on the crank sealing surfaces. Thanks for the vid
SKF speedi-sleeves! they are great!
I find just lightly tapping the valve collets with a soft mallet to settle them in is a good idea prior to gapping.
Very good work, congratulations and greetings from Bulgaria
Super awesome stuff. Thank you for creating this video and posting it.
Blowing the swarf out of the threads is more effective if upside down.
Yes baby! Thank you for this video!!!
This was INDEED... satisfying to watch.
Very good work!, Just a tip! dont spin the crank untill its fully tourqed. the spinning at 4:28 can acctually be harmfull
Also keeping it vertical while being stored is also very important.
Satisfying.
ASMR indeed

Okay master engine builder thx for letting us know.

Nice video...
When will we see it run?
It will be at some point during the “first start” video…
Har en VP 171C som jag måste byta lyftare då den tickar lite så med din video känns det tryggare
can you give me the item number of the skf sleeve. I need one too
dude, you dont install oilpump right, the metal tube between pumr and block must seet deeper on the block and push o-ring
I re-did it off camera after i filmed that section, it didnt seem right to me either! good catch!

What was brushed on the gaskets before installation?

@tentshedtrev6596 thank you for the reply
Gasket seal. (Just another way of ensuring a belt and braces seal that most professionals use)..
@@philtucker1224 thank you for your reply and assistance 👍
Did you use the Penta block or a Volvo B230 one?
he has the build list in the description
Dan have you found that one is preferable to the other ( for fast road use?) 🤔
@@philtucker1224 I haven't dug deep enough to know the differences between the two blocks

Why the music it sucks max
Its either the copyright-free music from the TH-cam audio library, or my heavy mouth breathing and grunting...figured I'd spare you 🙂
@@tentshedtrev6596id actually prefer no music there’s plenty of channels that do that and that’s true ASMR if that’s what you’re going for lol
