- Take a POV (Point of View) ride on the front row of Space Mountain at the Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. In this video we walk all the way through the Fastpass queue and part of the exit queue.

I remember begging my parents to go on this ride when I was five and they were giving me a strange look but I told them that I went on it a ton before (we lived in florida at the time)....I thought it was the buzz lightyear ride....now I have mental scars that i'm reminded of every time I go on a dark roller coaster.

My sister lost her back pack on this ride and the weird part is that we felt something fly by our faces but couldn't tell what it was and after realized it was her bag.

It's 5 years later, and I was pretty young when I wrote this comment. I realize now that I left some stuff out when I wrote it. Basically, my dad was put in charge of holding my sister's backpack (she was only 7 or 8). This trip was probably about a decade or so ago (give or take), but I don't remember ever hearing anything about there being a space to hold larger items like backpacks. They may have changed it, but I have no idea since it has been so long since I've been there. He was holding it down at the bottom of the coaster trying to keep it safe, but just the way it jostled around made him lose his grip. We DID end up getting her the backpack back, but unfortunately, some stuff was stolen from it. It was impossible that the stolen stuff flew out. The stuff that my mom clearly remembered putting ON TOP of the stolen items before we got on the ride (Minnie mouse hat and sunglasses) were both still there, so they couldn't have flown out. Fortunately, Disney was super accomodating and gave us some type of voucher to make up for the stolen products. Besides the stolen items, from what I remember, Disney was super good about returning stuff and making sure we had a positive experience! If you ever lose something on a ride don't be afraid to nicely ask the employees to keep an eye out for it. They are all very kind people and are always willing to lend a hand!

DonutUnderpants Actually, you are allowed. I take my back pack on all the rides and just put the strap around my leg.
DonutUnderpants ya they don't even supply a place to put your stuff or anything so really if anyone or anything got damaged by any passengers object it's their own fault for not making a place to put it.

I laughed the entire ride too. In fact, I laugh on all thrill rides. I think it’s the adrenaline

I was in the middle of a single rider and my dad, and the single rider just laughed crazily the whole time while my dad was terrified to death.
I love this ride. This is definately my favorite ride at Disney World. Man, now I really want to go back to Disney World.
Went on this ride 17 years ago with my parents. My mom thought it was a slow moving ride like pirates of the Caribbean. As soon as it started going, she started screaming bloody murder, haha, I mean she was crying and everything man, me and my dad were laughing our asses off. Ahhhh man good times. Thanks for the pov, brings me back!

Wow, what plush seating! This was my very first coaster ride at age 16, with my Dad, and the old trains were basically a bench that may or may not have had seat belts. We got bounced around a bit, and it was an amazing ride. My cousin and I went for a second ride later that day to sit in the back. That made the ride much scarier. 😳
I ride it for the first time with my daddy and i was pretty young. I think i actually sat in front of him up against his body and he held onto me. I dont remember seat belts. It was scary!

Space Mountain is one of those rides that actually don't mind waiting on line for. The music is so soothing and relaxing. It's just so futuristic.

Bruhitsholden, my magic band flew of and I caught it mid air on a drop! It was like I dodged a bullet
lol when I went on the Haunted Mansion ride my sister had a Minnie mouse bag and she set it down and it rolled off the ground. It was really sparkely so when the people shined a light on it they found it.

That was probably amazing at the time it was made. It's still fun, but the best indoors roller coaster is Rock 'n' Roller Coaster.

I went on this for the first time in August. . . man it was awesome! It was my favorite ride at Magic Kingdom. I was not expecting a ride at Disney to be intense.

I went on this once, and never again!! I was shaking so bad after I got off this. It's basically like being on a roller coaster with your eyes closed, and all you hear is the sound of the tracks; it's scary because you can't see anything!!

Last time I was on Space Mountain, I was 10, my mom lied and said it didn't go fast. When we got on and it took off,I was screaming to my mom saying "you said it didn't go fast?" Ever since then, I haven't been on a roller coaster since. I'm almost 40

My grandparents took us on a surprise trip tp Disney when I was 6 in 1976. This was the first roller coaster I ever rode, and to this day it remains my favorite! The seats used to be one long bench where everyone sat one in front of the other (4 to 6 people depending on how big you were) and there were only little handles on the side of the cars to hold on and a little seat belt. I remember my legs shaking when I got off the first time.
Its so hard to capture this ride on video, but there are shooting stars and light projections of galaxies and you even see the other cars going around (they are glow in the dark.) One time when I was older in 1983, they let us ride with the lights on inside as they were working on it... That was weird...lol

I love Disney, but this ride and rockin' roller coaster. I just can't handle it! When I rode Space Mountain, somehow, when I got out, my wrist was hurt, and I had a splitting headache. All of the jerking, loud sounds, and being in the dark terrified me. I've never been on it again.
The one at Disneyland is much much smoother, has less loud sounds, and has a more comfortable seating arrangement. I hope you'll give that one a try!

Stephen Nuttall Let me tell you, that I rided it in 2000 and it felt very scary, I couldn´t watch and closed my eyes, hoping it to end. Didn´t have a very good time in it. I believe darkness made it worse. I felt sick after it and couldn´t ride anything else in the hole day. Bad experience for me. I love Disney but that ride, I don´t know.
Good idea! I remember that in my suffer, I once opened my eyes and saw all stars, watching the video makes me understand at what point of the ride I was, haha. Good luck next time, enough for me!

I can only go to Disney Land CA, and the space mountain there isn't scary. But never been to Walt Disney world, the ride almost reminds me of the matterhorn because of the seats, now that looks kinda spooky but eh.

When you close your eyes it can make you nauseated

@@pazolvera-hampsten9003 Yeah Ik it was sort of a joke but yeah it is a common human reflex but usually when you close your eyes on a coaster it makes it worse. Especially for the people that are sensitive to fast turns and airtime which would cause them to get that weird feeling in their stomach.
Good video, nice night vision images although there wasn't that much to see in them. Still, I'm just as glad to have missed this one when I was there years ago. The most interesting part of the ride was the before and after; guess I'm not as into these rides as I thought.
Honestly to me, the night vision part shows one thing that our own eyes don't, which you can see at multiple parts: the 'spotlights'. With the camera set to normal (infrared mostly filtered out with normal light as the main), you can see just the violet glow (dull red to your average eye) of the infrared lights. Meanwhile with the night vision on (no normal light, only the infrared range) those lights suddenly become full wash spotlights. Usually paired with an infrared camera of their own to monitor the track.

This ride scared me so much, I looked down and all I saw was pitch black and it was a long way down my mom was right behind me but I was flipping out either way!

This was the first rollercoaster I ever rode, I rode it when I was 8 yrs old. Well, I didn't want to, but my mom forced me to. She even told me that it wasn't a rollercoaster. I had a feeling she was tricking me, cuz there was a poster that said "Space Mountain" and it had a pic of a rollercoaster. I told her that it was gonna be like that poster, and she said it was just other rides. Srsly!? Then, when we were in the line, so many people were looking and pointing at me when their child was crying. And I already knew that this was a rollercoaster, cuz I heard what they were saying in Chinese. So then, I got on the ride and there we go!! The ride started, it was fast. I got really scared!! I just closed my eyes for the whole ride. I was holding my mom and the handrail so tight. I was even sweating!! But then the ride finished, I was feeling relief! Whew! Next time I know to never trust my mom again when going to themeparks or when going on rides!

This was in the 90s.
It's the same as it was then with only a soundtrack added and less light because the ceiling area before you board the ride is no longer open (the ceiling was closed off in 2009).

You know, I just realized this but Space Mountain at DisneyWorld was really the first seed in my head that was a catalyst in my interest in astronomy. I haven't been here since 2000. It's almost been 20 years but I can still remember the interest I got out of this ride. Just another trip down nostalgic childhood lane.

The queue is part of the rides at Disney, it creates the atmosphere of whatever story they're trying to tell and it also has kind of a build-up to the actual ride. It's important

i have 3 reasons why the space mountain at disneyland is better
1. it's pitch black and you can't see where you're going (if that's a good thing to you)
2. during halloween it has ghost galaxy
3. now has hyperspace mountain for star wars season of the force

So, I have been on the front of space mountain and I don’t think people understand how terrifying it is. There is literally NOTHING in front of you, cause of how the seats are on it, and you feel like you’re gonna fall out the whole time. It was amazing tho xD

Went on this ride back in 86 . With my little sister she wasn't in the seat secure enough me being tiny had to cling an hold on to her for dear life . There wasn't anything I could do but hold on to her an no one around to report it . I had God helping me that day an I was hoping their so called space ride would have shut down or at least made it so there would be safety nets or video s in case something happens an automatic stop for it . Thank you God u can replace steal an bolts an wires but not a life. Thank God . There are no more coaster rides in my life after that. An I pray for everyone who gets on em . Keep safe take care.

Oh jeez, i remember this old thing. It's nuts.
My dad and i woke up at 7 am in the hotel, and took the disney bus to Magic Kingdom. Since it was morning, it was fairly quiet, so we managed to seamlessly ride three times without fastpass.
the fourth time, however, it was a bit more crowded. my dad and i used our fastpass to squeeze in one last ride. I really wanted to sit in the front seat, so my dad and i stood in line together.
little did i know, i was one person ahead of him. i didn't know until after i was locked in. the last three times he sat behind me, and comforted me when i got scared.
but there i was, just a little girl, at the very front of this wild ride. it was terrifying and exhilarating. it was also a little scary waiting for him to show up in the next cart. you'd be scared, too, if you were a ten year old girl anxiously waiting all alone in the gift shop
Omg, my parents took me and my brother on this ride when I was six or seven years old. I hated it so much! It was very terrifying! I hated not seeing where we were going in the dark! Now at 55 I still remember how terrifying it was while watching this. Getting ready to go to Disneyland in June with my daughter and I am not going nowhere this ride! Nope! Leaves mental scars🤣

When my parents and grandparents and took me when I was 6 they would try to make me go on but I was so freaking scared. Every time. Then when I was 10 I finally rode it. But While my family rode it my grandma took me on the people mover. Now I absolutely am not afraid of any coaster.

I realize this is very puny compared to SF or CP. I go to Six Flags all the time.
Go to Busch Gardens and try Montu, Kumba and Sheikra - they do about 65 mph as opposed to Space Mountain doing about 30mph and are a LOT more intense than any ride in Disneyworld
If you ever go to Universal Studios in Florida, ride the Jurrasic Park ride. It has an 85 foot drop at the end. I loved it
I remember riding this ride when I ten years old and throughout the whole ride I was screaming my head off. Not only that but the ride seemed longer to me than what this video shows. But I did have a great time at Disney World at the time.
That rollercoaster was so fun!! We went there recently and it was one of my favorites!!! Definitely recommend it if going to Disney soon!!
Space Mountain is WAY better than splash mountain to me
Splash mountain can be very scary for your first time because of the pause before the big drop it causes you to get anxious of when your going to drop and space mountain is super fun too!
IKR! It brings you to the final drop and you are waiting for about 20 seconds before it finally drops you!
The first time I went to splash mountain I didn't even think the last drop was the worst, the dark drops are the worst to me, but the Universal Orlando Studios one (I think it's rip side falls?) the drop in that one is like hell compared to the disney one.
Two total different rides. Both are good in their own way.
Well I hate space mountain I couldn't even get to go to splash mountain and I was begging my parents
I have to wait at least3 months to go to disneyworld Florida but I am so excited I'm going on this ride by myself I hope there is no loops :-)
The only Space Mountain with inversions operates at Disneyland Paris. None of the others go upside down at any point.

Not really fast (~30 mph at the most), but it is decently forceful.
I love the tunnel music too!!.... but on my first time riding this on the lift hill when the other train passes you I almost had a heart attack!!

I was just there last month but unfortunately I couldn't ride this because I have disc disease so thank you so much for posting. I felt like I was on the ride after all.
My dad went on front row. 😂 he loved it and he looked so happy!! My sister went too, and they both came out with their thumbs sticking up!
