    I am glad to have discovered your video. I stained my concrete 4 years ago and now I’m doing a new addition to my bardominium and going to strip and prep my concrete and most likely order your product. AND MATTE FINISH ALWAYS. Gloss is for showrooms and department stores.

    I’m impressed that your white metallica epoxy covers up the old floor without the old design showing through.
    The product I use doesn’t work that well and we always have to put a primer coat down first

      I made the mistake of having the guy put down a Mat finished because I was told it was more slippery assistant than a gloss finish and it completely ruined the entire metallic effect of the floor and it also absorbs all the light rather than reflect it as the gloss would have so it looks very dark and dingy.

      I went with Matte and I have to be honest it just makes it look very commercial and flat and it absorbs all the light rather than reflect it as a gloss would and it kills the entire metallic look of the floor not to mention it's Really not that slip resistant I cannot Walk on it in socks and not be petrified of breaking a bone. Thankfully the guy that did my floor is willing to redo the top coat for me.

  • @christinegreywolf

    I would pick a matte for the sheer reason that it does not highlight fuzz or any little thing dropped on the floor. Gloss may look nice, but it will highlight every issue and speck of dirt.

    Looks great ( as if it wouldn't with you guys doing it ), first question , is when you do the area in sections... is there any concern with the fresh mixed second pour meeting the semi-setting first pour seam/area ?
    I would most likely choose a Matt finish for the practicality of it , but I'm guessing the Gloss would have a bit better " WOW " factor... assuming it was always keep very clean ( not really a home with a large family , especially with dogs )
    Would/could/should you use a buffer on the floor ?
    Thanks

      ps. nothing about the floor ... but the baseboard/trim/door color , ( totally ...to each his/her own ) but as a home renovator of 30 yrs now , I think a color that isn't so one dimensional as basic grey . use work in a lot better.
      I think I would have gone with something custom tinted in more of a Granite tone .

    I did this same kit on my kitchen floors last year and it didn’t come out the way I expected. The floor changed from white to now a beige almost yellow color. Some spots sound like there’s bubbles underneath cause it makes a cracking sound when you step on them. Another thing is it gets dirty all the time. You drop some water and step on it, it turns to mud. I’m constantly mopping these floors. Hate it 😔

    • @LeggariProducts
      @LeggariProducts  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This makes sense! Yes we have to make sure to blend the first section before it really begins to set, before moving on and focusing on the next section. If you wait too long, you'll definitely run into sticky resin, especially if it's cold.... It helps to have an extra installer helping on the project.

    Gorgeous. One BIG QUESTION I have. How is the removal of the tape on the baseboard handled? You would have to wait a couple hours to pull it before it hardens too much but I don't think you could walk on it at that point. Or do you pull it next day? Seems like that would not work either.

      I would like to know that too because the guys that did mine taped my baseboard trim but then had to remove it before the color coat because he realized it would get trapped between the material and the trim and it would never be able to come out and i'd have blue painter's tape stuck between floor and baseboard trim.

    Okay, so what do we do if the epoxy kit was bad? I had never done it before and the resin mix was like hard packed brown sugar in the packet. I mixed it and let it sit for recommended time according to directions, painted it on and there were chunks of resin that I pulled out. But at the end of the day, it didn’t properly mix (in hindsight) and now the floor won’t cure; it’s sticky.
    Rustoleum confirmed that the store I got it from probably stored it incorrectly (too hot or too cold….) hence the problem.
    They said we have to scrape it off and pressure wash it off and start over again! 😡
    Well, the concrete (brand new slab) was prepped according to directions (we washed it with their product then used etch allowing to dry in between) and then the paint really “sucked in” to the concrete. There is no scraping it off and no pressure washing it; it is bonded to the concrete.
    I feel like someone (not us!) should refund us but also pay for the materials to get this garbage off of the floor.
    I just don’t know what is going to take it off. Any ideas?

    45 square foot per gallon? Just curious, Sherwin Williams has an epoxy and they say that one of their 8100 kits covers 250 per gallon and a half. Is that realistic or is theirs just thinner than what you are using? And what are you using??

    • @LeggariProducts
      @LeggariProducts  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes we have formulated our resign to be applied thicker - making it more durable and less likely to chip. If you would like to read more on our resin, check this out 👉

    How long does it take to cure? How long before you can put furniture on it?

  • @RvRestoration

    but your stepping in it doesn't that move the material places you dont want it and cause that section to set faster because whats on the bottom of the shoe is less so it dry faster?

      Hello! Our Leggari Spike shoes allow us to walk over the material without skewing the design or displacing the epoxy.

    Do you remove the baseboards?

    • @annmarietrupia6650
      @annmarietrupia6650 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My opinion as a homeowner is that you probably should remove.. I did not because mine are so old I was afraid that they would just crumble if I tried to take them off LOL .. and I don't hav money to replace... so my guy taped them but the tape didn't really work out so he had to remove it before finishing the job so there was some epoxy on the trim but I'm hoping it can come off easily.

    I came to this video after watching the salon floor you guys did, hoping to see some impressive marbling. Unfortunately, I didn’t find it.
    The first epoxy folks understood how to create realistic marble - their shortcoming was in their technique of working with epoxy. You folks have the epoxy method down - but need to develop your artistic skills. Right now your work still looks like painting - the areas where you’ve dribbled paint look superficial and unlike real veining.
    I think you should take some time and go to a stone yard to study how it naturally looks. Once you really understand how marble looks, you’ll be able to take your work to the next level.

    • @LeggariProducts

      How long it lasts really depends on wear and traffic but our products are designed for permanence and our proprietary kits are so strong they will not delaminate (peel off) or wear off over time.

    I have a major question to ask. I just had some people do my epoxy floor and there are thousands of raised little nicks all over the floor. I know I need to sand it down but with what grit and I don't want to have to re epoxy the whole thing. Do I just add eurathane top coat after sanding? I would like to send pics if you have an email. Thanks
