Beautiful the lines Ana chooses to emphasize and bring out. Most classical guitar players emphasize the higher registers, Ana often brings out the lower registers so it seems much more polyphonic and true to the original imo. Absolutely lovely interpretation and delivery.

What a concert! So many videos from the same event, and what a program, only great pieces! That day was Ana Vidovic the best guitarist in the world! The other days can Maria Esther Guzman, Berta Rojas , David Russel and others have something to say in that matter, but this day was Ana's!! Wish I was there!

As much as I like so many of Ana Vidovic's performances (this one included), I keep returning to the one of this work by the astonishing Leonora Spangenberger. How such a young performer could have such remarkable insight and maturity is beyond me.
I haven't heard anyone play these pieces that I didn't love it. The pieces are so beautiful... and … so is her performance and interpretation of them. I like how she arpeggiates certain lines. Very very nice.
The depth in which this reaches has touched me. If I could rip out the throat of one person who disliked this performance i probably would puss out....... A truly amazing talent. Thank you!

I heard it, Ana fluffed a whole note! She is actually human. Phew! Never thought I would hear it. Just increases my total admiration for her. An amazing guitarist. I hope one day I will be able to be in the audience of one of her amazing live performances 😀
Does anyone notice that Ana is different here? Much more stress and tension. Look at her hands and her arms, her face, her breathing, her lips, her eyes. There is more pressure and muscle definition. My thought is that she or some manager or adviser believes that the endless and understandable sharing of her music over You Tube and the like if recorded could decrease demand for and attendance at her recitals. Did that affect Horowitz or any other concert pianist or violinist of distinction? Of course not. Nor would it affect demand for Ana in person. So please record more!
OK, finally, here is the test: J.S. Bach on the classical guitar. Succeed at this, you are indeed a classical guitarist. Could we doubt she "passed?" Grade, like the French alps, Beyond Category. Of course... Really wonderful that she gave perfect respect to Bach's structure & intellect in the piece, while playing it almost lyrically. I've never heard that. Did you hear, however, at approx. the 4.5 minute, an actual near-mistake? O frabjous day, callou callay - so, she is in truth a human? One may have thought some divine visitor from remote celestial realms. A blessing to us mortals, regardless.

What humans are capable of is astounding to me. People struggle to rub their belly and pat their head at the same time. Yet you can train yourself to have all ten fingers operate completely independent of each other with no conscience thought of what each are doing but simply working as a whole.
This is one of my favorite Bach pieces. This fugue is crazy beautiful, almost like an unraveling prayer! Praise the King of Kings, JesusChrist! Pray for peace in the world, pray for His coming!

But here, you choosed to play a little faster than the correct tempo (your choice after all !) , and you push a constant XVIII th century romantism in your lines. Perfect notes through a perfect wood machine-gun, but WHERE IS BACH ??? Bach is not about playing some parts "forte" and some parts "piano" and saying "'I did the job!". For this delicate piece where each note has a different weight, you should listen to your friend the very young and talented LEONORA SPANGENBERGER (the Siccas guitars recordings). I know you can do it (look how you improved in the third part of Barrios " Cathedral"). Love.

I get the feeling she is trying to project the instrument into the hall. As if she did not have amplification. IOW, a little too much articulation. And the pacing is a bit brisk. She is a maestra, but this is not Ana at her best.
Too fast and over-dramatized for my liking. I much prefer Anika Hutschreuter who takes nearly a minute longer but allows the music to breathe and all the parts and suspensions to be appreciated. Full marks for technical ability of course, but maybe she has been listening too much to Richter?

Ana’s sound or style of playing is still the most pleasing I’ve heard since discovering her music on TH-cam months ago.

It depends on your technical level, your score reading level, but, for normal people, 6 months, minimum.
Her guitar is made by Jim Redgate, an Australian luthier, and it costs around $15,000
